Bones and All Maren is Sam. No place to go.

İNSANEE
was it lonely in heaven
the mundane of our abnormal being
making up stories that are a little nicer, so the woods seem less scary at night
i want to see the alternate universe hbo spn where sam says fuck and dean smokes marlboro reds and cas like dismembers people onscreen
#ideal spn is where cas literally ONLY speaks in tongues
Hbo spn is just Constantine movie on a longer shot
so was hbo sam more like jo at stanford? was he the freak with the knife collection that one wanted to get too close to? was there a bet going in the class of 2005 of when sam winchester would finally snap? did his professors politely request he seek counseling after he accidentally fell asleep in a philosophy lecture and woke up screaming about fire?
hbo sam has been taking detailed notes on how to be normal since he was fifteen. he has notebooks full of ‘tattoos = dangerous’ and ‘no mention of religion unless in already serious conversation’ and ‘weapons = redneck,’ tidbits he’s picked up from a thousand american tv shows and 14 high schools.
when he gets to stanford, he thinks he’s doing great. he follows everyone of his rules, even if he has to recite them softly sometimes. his roommates & classmates are slightly more concerned.
#jess is the only one brave enough to get close to him#but yeah im torn between sam either rigidly trying to be a normal as possible and freaking everyone out#and sam having like a full breakdown at his newfound freedom and getting smashes at frat parties every night#we know stanford dean was drunk calling sam but i think it went both ways sometimes!!!!#fixes the pilot line too abt dean not bothering sam in 2 years#near the end of sams sophomore he gets very very drunk and someone possibly slipped smth into his drink#and he ends up at a low lit gas station in the middle of the night with no conceivable way of getting home so he calls dean#sam doesnt attend another party until he graduates (via @sammysstupidshirts)
@fascra sam pukes in the car and ruins the floormats and talks and talks and apologizes the entire ride and dean says absolutely nothing. they watch wheel of fortune or jeopardy or whatever the hell is on tv until sam passes out and when john calls dean and asks why the hell he took off at 2 in the morning, dean lies and makes up some bullshit about a case or cassie in trouble or whatever he can cobble together to get dad off his back for a few days.
dean plans to never bring up the incident again, except after jess dies sam shuts down completely and tries to go get drunk alone. dean tries to make light of it and bring himself along but sam tells him to fuck off and finally dean snaps and is like "I'm not picking your wasted ass up from a gas station again, sam. either you're staying home or I'm coming with you: end of discussion."
a few hbo spn plots/subplots that keep me awake at night
- sam sneaks away to the city at night, parks in an alley behind some bar and does 'psychic readings' out of the impala for extra cash, except he isn't actually using his powers (too much work) he's just repeating the same taurus horoscope he received in his email that morning that he thought was soooo him
- when dean breaks some guy's nose in a bar fight and is charged with assault, sam has to figure out how to break his stupid ass out and get them out of town before anyone notices. he stress-eats multiple bags of baby carrots throughout the episode
- sam develops a drug addiction after jessica's death to cope with being dragged back into hunting by dean, except sam's powers aren't as strong when he's using as they are when he's sober, so his addiction becomes a big point of contention between the brothers when he's too weak to exorcise even low-level demons
This hbo universe is the only thing on my mind
Plus -10 quality motion pic
Addicted sam my beloved
have some supernatural concepts that make me go feral
- sam’s faith being an actual point of contention between him and dean for more than two seconds (throw in one of my favorite worship songs as sam storms out of a random midwest motel and enters an empty church to pray about being fundamentally unclean, bonus points if he later kills a demon in the church, ya know? for the drama.)
- kinda regarding that post about sam’s true crime hobby and kelly klines death, please for the love of god make Kelly Kline’s story more than a plot device and make her violently protective of her child in a way she wasn’t allowed to be. make sam and dean actually fucking talk about that. kelly attempting to murder sam and dean to protect her child? yes please.
- maybe actually develop sams controlling habits (eating, exercise, self harm) into a usable plot line that doesn’t end the second it becomes “complicated”
- the angels? no vessels, just unhinged voices from above or find a way to make them unsettling to the point where even the demons can’t stand to be around them for long. make castiel tell sam or dean something deeply profane and personal everytime they see each other. it’s not funny either, just fucked up.
- give me the laundromat episode !!!! give me bloody clothing and scars !!!! give me the conversations about john, trauma, faith, and healing that the SPN writers couldn’t handle !!!!
Spn lost the oportunity to have some deep unnerving body horror in it. Most of the situations are actually there on the show but are not properly discussed to make them seem as disturbing as they could be.
They started well when introducing the angels by the concept of making the people's possesed bodies (i have noticed that the word vessels is another way to normalize the act of possesion that is usually treated as horrifying as it should) start to decay for how great the angels powers were to hold (this was only with lucifer and raphael and it was never adressed again), same with demons, when Meg Masters was exorcised and she died by the damage her body suffered during possesion (the fact that there are no exorcisms anymore still bothers me)
Most of the things the brothers have come across that have affected them physically are easily fixed by angels or just ignored. Which is such a waste, because imagine the absolute change Dean would face when coming back from forty years of hell, how his body remade by angels would feel almost foreign to him, how he would wake up and the oxygen entering his loungs wouldn't feel quite right . With Sam what comes to my mind is the constant violation of his bodily autonomy by angels and demons, if they were to leave actual physical repercussions it would be even worst (maybe that way it wouldn't be shrugged off). Sam being unnaturally always cold, or feeling like there is something burning in his lungs, piercing on his muscles, actual grace burns on his skin, marks that he never knew how they got there, chronic pain on his bones, chills on his skin without aparent reason, internal bleeding from messed up organs (during the trails this was adressed but as always the consecuences where easily fixed) and I'm not even touching hell trauma here. Imagine the posibilities of actual horror instead of the usual drama and reused plots.
em do u have more hbo spn hcs? ur last ones have haunted me for weeks <3
yes of course <3 (btw sorry it's taken me so long to answer this, i didn't even see it until today. thanks tumblr)
- laundromat episode in the style of tall tales. episode begins the morning after a truly gruesome hunt, with sam and dean casually walking into a laundromat like nothing's out of the ordinary. except they're covered in several scrapes, cuts and bruises, look like they haven't slept in weeks, and their basket is filled to the brim with muddy, blood-soaked clothes. they don't look happy. they're arguing, in fact. there are a lot of people around attempting to do their laundry in peace, looking around in confusion/annoyance - two loud voices are booming in the background, "well IM not the one who froze up back there, dean!" "OH REALLY??" "yeah. really," with the two of them eventually stripping down to their boxers, sitting atop the washers and sharing a soda (they collectively only had enough quarters for laundry + one soft drink), recalling the events of the night and trying to figure out how things could have gone so very wrong.
- stoner!dean <3 dean was 15 the first time he smoked weed and then he just...never stopped. he'll sit cross-legged on motel floors with the window cracked while he smokes, flipping through john's journal like it's his favorite storybook. sam thinks it's dumbed him down over the years but dean thinks it's probably the only time he feels sane. munchies of choice include funions and green grapes.
- sam had no knowledge of his powers until he forsaw jess's death, but they'd been manifesting, bubbling under the surface for years. all those times dean pissed sam off, left him fuming, and how dean would suddenly trip over his own feet. and later, all of the strange things he saw and heard at stanford - if it was something to be hunted, he'd think, dad and dean would've shown up by now. he told himself it was mental illness, of course, something had always been wrong with him. it was better than the alternative - becoming one of the things he hunts.
When they first possess their vessels, hbo Supernatural angels don’t blink. They don’t need to, they see it as a waste of energy. They don’t breathe, they don’t fidget, they don’t move their eyes more then necessary. They make uncomfortably long eye contact, never speak unless spoken to, are straight to the point and portray no emotion, no sarcasm, no hint that they’re anything other then celestial beings. They merely exist, but even they somehow get that wrong.
The longer an angel possesses their vessel and the more they’re around humans, the more mannerisms they pick up. But they’re always off. When they blink, it’s either too often or too far between, too exaggerated or too understated. When they breathe, it’s noticeable that they need to think about it. They move their chest too much, or it’s too stuttered, or too shallow, or too deep. When they fidget, it’s almost as though they’re discovering new movements, flexing fingers or rolling shoulders, always rigid and almost as though they’re forcing themselves to. Their jokes and sarcasm always fall flat, with teasing warnings coming off as a terrifying threats, sarcastic insults coming off as scathing remarks. When they smile, it’s always too stiff, too large, too dead. No matter how much they try to fit in, it’s always off. It’s always wrong.
