fem merthur to heal our souls
the beautiful part about tshd is that nobody is in the same genre as far as they're concerned. "hikaru" is in a romcom. yuki is in a high school yuri and asako is her other lead. asako herself is in dandadan as momo. maki is in a sports anime and just got benched from the big game. tanaka is in the tv show supernatural. and yoshiki. yoshiki is in the summer hikaru died.
Too soon?
Obviously it was bad. If you liked it Iām happy for you and Iām happy we got something at all. HOWEVER I need to talk about the human AU.
There has been a lot of media (especially after everything everywhere all at once) that makes use of the multiverse to put forth the idea of the self as some unchangeable soul. Which is fine! It is, however, a very Christian conception of the self. Youāre human! Youāre special! You exist outside of your context, and would be the essentially the same without it, because only your soul matters.
But I thought this show was against the fated outcomes of Christianity, and pro free will? I thought that existing among humanity for 6000 years fundamentally changed Aziraphale and Crowley into the immortal beings who loved each other? Did Crowley not love the stars because he brought them into creation?
The idea that everyone would still exist and meet in a brand new universe, that Aziraphale and Crowley would be essentially the same people, seems to me incompatible with the showās narrative of free will. Where is the free will in question if everyone ends up doing essentially the same thing?
I just find myself not a huge fan of these two new people being equated to the immortal beings we know. I think that the self is more context defined than this finale made it seem, and I think thatās an important component of free will.
At least Jesus was cute.

A snorkle basis is a particular sort of set that has some properties and is generally "nice" (in a rigorous sense) and can do many things and is very practical.
