The Very Important Cinnamon Poll™
Residents of Tumblr, heed my call! I need D A T A!
I had a thought recently about cinnamon, and the odd difference between cinnamon candy and cinnamon pastries. They're different enough that it is easy to like one and dislike the other (in my case, I like the pastries but dislike the candy), but from people I've asked it isn't some consistent preference (duh) as I've seen at least one person who likes the candy but dislikes the pastry.
So now I'm just curious where the statistics of the preferences land, who likes both, who dislikes both, who only likes one. I must know the balance!
For reference, when I say Candy I'm thinking stuff like Red Hots/Hot Tamales and similar ones of those red colored cinnamon candies. Pastries meanwhile is stuff like cinnamon buns or cinnamon crumble, etc.
I feel a need to collect finer data than just a 4 option poll, but it is also better than nothing! This isn't a debate of which is better, just a curiosity of how the preferences rank.
Do you like or dislike Cinnamon Candy and/or Pastries?
Like both Pastry and Candy
Dislike both Pastry and Candy
Like Candy, Dislike Pastry
Like Pastry, Dislike Candy
Day 2 reblog, yesterday got a decent 100 votes which is very nice! Turns out the hellsite is still good for people exploring tags.
Learned a few things: First thing being I'm not sure if "Candy" & "Pastry" are 100% the most accurate categories as someone pointed out gum fits the candy slot and cereal fits the pastry slot... but I'm not sure if we'd usually call those pastries!
Also probably should have had another set of options for "unfamiliar", not sure how that skews the results.
Most interesting result so far is that it looks like disliking both is more likely than only liking the candy, very curious!
Probably should have reblogged this one other time during the week, but 145 votes is pretty good with 2 days to go! I think in general the results are settling to a consistent flow.
If I were to do this again I think I'd get slightly better results using the term "spicy cinnamon" vs normal cinnamon. One other thing I learned from this is that there's a lot of different Dutch cinnamon candy that you'd generally call candy but isn't spicy... not quite the category of what I was calling cinnamon candy here, but not quite the category of cinnamon pastries either, though definitely sounds like it has a flavor profile more similar to pastries.

Seeing comment chains from this site leads me to the realization that comments go through some form of natural selection, but not survival of the fittest.
Being part of an entertaining chain is the survival, but saying something really dumb can get you into the chain because it gets included for the context of later comments in the chain.
Or perhaps it is survival of the fittest, in a parasite kind of way. You get eaten alive, and yet that's how you live on.
I think I forgot to post this! Video from a few weeks ago showing off some of my indoor plants. Things kinda got out of hand with the window turning into a bit of a jungle.

Very exciting times for us right now, can't wait to watch the game continue to evolve over the rest of development!
That game I've been working on for a while/reblogging here has finally released! There's a demo available as well for anyone curious to try it first before jumping in.
Really excited, can't wait to keep developing it and adding content.
Just 2 more days until Great Gun Gauntlet enters Early Access on Steam! Here's a few more recent screenshots we took while testing.

Drawing ever closer.

We're now live with another Q&A broadcast while showcasing the Great Gun Gauntlet Demo.
Free sanity effect with every meal.
Our Steam Next Fest Q&A stream is now live, get in here if you have any questions about the game and don't forget to try the demo!
We're doing a Q&A stream between 5PM and 9PM EST this Monday (and likely another on Saturday), come by to watch some gameplay or talk to the developers.
You'll be able to find the stream over on Steam when it goes live tomorrow:
We've got a new trailer for the demo we've put out to go along with Next Fest!
We seem to be all set with our demo ready just in time for the upcoming Steam Next Fest!
Give it a try February 5th to get a taste for the game before launch!
We will likely keep the demo up after the event as well, for those unsure about jumping in on an Early Access title trying a demo is a great way to hook you in figure out if the experience is something you want to play more of immediately or wait until it's finished.
The demo will have the first two gauntlets in the first arena, a fraction of the content we want to add to the full game but a good preview of how the main mechanics feel playing as Gear Guy.
Besides the demo coming out, we will also be announcing the official release date for Early Access soon. We've already mentioned March as the goal, and as we close in on that it becomes more and more realistic! Stay tuned, these will be an exciting two months for us!
Don't forget we also have a Discord server if you want to stay up to date or ask questions.
Every day it gets more real.
