Favorite OTPs – Meira and Mather | Snow Like Ashes
His eyes dart over me, from my soaked hair to my mud-stained robe, absorbing me in jerky motions as if he can’t catch all of me at once. When he meets my gaze, his shock ebbs away in favor of a look I’ve never seen on him. One I always dreamed of seeing.
He’s looking at me now like he loves me, and he doesn’t care who sees.

Snow Like Ashes BOOK REVIEW
Ugh, where do I even begin… ?
This Book. THIS BOOK.
I’m going to admit, I was a little reluctant at starting it at first because I was scared it was going to be like my own novel I’m working on. But I can 100% say that it’s not and I’m thankfully happy for that btw.
Also if you do not read this book I will go to your house and force you to read it.
It is just amazing. I cried (And I didn’t cry while reading TFIOS) I laughed, I panic-texted all my friends everything that was going on until they started ignoring me.
But this book… Sara Raasch.. I’m pretty sure that in a few years this series will become a movie deal and I’m proud to say that when it happens I’ll be the one saying that I actually read the book when they were first coming out.
If she doesn’t become as famous as Veronica Roth or John Green, then I will personally make that happen myself.
Now I guess I should talk about the book some more xD
It follows a young, 16 year old orphan girl. (Trying not to spoil, it’s so hard) And her Kingdom, Winter (One of my favorite seasons too btw) is fallen. The people of it are in work camps and she’s one of the lucky few to actually escape when the Kingdom was falling.
It goes on to follow her story after saving one of the conduct (I think I spelled that wrong) Pieces, half of a broken locket, and then proceeds to running for their lives to her best friend, King Mather, fighting off her ‘betrothed’ Prince Theron. Shirtless might I add.
I wish I could talk more about it without spoiling anything. But that isn’t enough for you to read the book then you need to sit down and read it so then I can tell you all of the best parts in the story instead of just the few that don’t give off major plot twists.
In the mean time while you’re reading one of the most amazingly and beautifully frustrating written novel of 2014, I will go and try to wait patiently for Book Two and Sara’s contest to end to see if I win a signed copy…. unless I’m allowed to buy a copy and send it to her to sign and send back… but I don’t think you’re allowed…
ANYWAY, Book 2 can not come out quick enough. Sara, good luck with your writing, no pressure or anything. I’m sure it will be just as amazingly frustratingly beautiful as the first one.
If I were allowed to drink I’d tip my glass to you, but in the meantime, enjoy a cup of hot chocolate and this stuffed penguin. xD

Deleted scene from ICE LIKE FIRE!
ONE! WEEK! FROM! TODAY!
I couldn’t very well let FROST LIKE NIGHT’s ONE WEEK BIRTHDAY EVE pass without celebration, now could I? So for those of you who have read books 1 & 2 (because, I’m warning you now, SPOILERS), I have a never-before-seen chapter from ICE LIKE FIRE!
Yes, a WHOLE CHAPTER!
But WAIT, THERE’S MORE!
Since Ceridwen’s POV is in FROST LIKE NIGHT, it seemed appropriate that this deleted scene should be too! Some of you might remember that the Wattpad story, FLAMES LIKE VINES, came about because Ceridwen’s POV was originally in ILF. Well, the chapter I present to you today comes after FLAMES LIKE VINES, and would’ve fit into ILF between Chapters 27 and 28, when Meira and her whole group are in Ventralli. Ceridwen has just left the big official monarch-meeting with the Ventrallan king, Jesse, and she’s a bit … shaken up about things.
(Seriously, spoilers for ICE LIKE FIRE)
Chapter under the cut!
And don’t forget to vote in the Autumn Join the Blizzard contest!

:OOOOOOO
I love paperbacks because they really show the wear and tear of a well-loved book. Every book tells a story beyond the author’s own writing–they share a readers’ story, too.
i love them because they’re cheap
i feel so exposed but tumblr user leightaylorwrites rly nailed it
I loaned my brother the third Harry Potter book. Hard cover, first edition. He returned it in pieces.
The final Join the Blizzard contest is coming. As such, it will be MASSIVE. But just how massive? The War Council is here to help you out (or really, just tease you even more) before the contest information drops on Tuesday, August 30 on sararaasch.tumblr.com!
Your hint: the answer to a single question.
What is your favorite part of the Winter Kingdom?
Sara: I’ve always loved the architecture in Winter. Of course, it isn’t quite so impressive now (you can thank Angra for that)—but in its heyday, it was one of the most striking kingdoms. All of the prominent buildings took to heart their origins in snow and ice, with tall, ivory towers and sharp corners and silver accents. It was very much a Winter Wonderland!
Kingdom Rep:
“Someday we will be more than words in the dark”
My favorite part of Winter are its people, even though Winter is a dead-cold kingdom, they still have a warm heart, especially in the time of trouble. Each kingdom is identified by something, I know Winter is “known for mining” but actually I believe Winter is also hope, when they were all in Spring’s work camps, they hoped, they tried to keep their memories, their little pieces of the kingdom, and hoped that one day they could be a prosperous land again, even when they all knew their queen was dead and her conduit broken. And when they were set free, and Meira had pretty much no idea what to do as a queen, they kept their hope and loyalty all the time.
