Considering the recent news here in Los Angeles...Here's a quick reminder that our #facemask tutorial is available on our youtube channel (link in bio)...it only takes about 10-15 minutes to finish this mask! We will be releasing a new video over the weekend on some mask updates Janae has come across after making so many, with certain materials becoming unavailable (i.e. hacks for cutting down thicker elastic, copper wiring, vacuum filter ect.)...in the meantime if anyone has any questions while sewing ANY mask designed please email her directly at [email protected] and she we walk you through it! For those who have been asking: because I wasn't distributing directly to people (just going directly through the hospitals which have their own filters) I didn't include any instructions as far as filters but this is my best suggestion...HEPA (spun viber) vaccum bags. The guys at the shop have been using Vac Bags as masks from day one; they are designed to keep out a good majority of dust' allergens and other particulates. It's as close to standard mask filtration as most people can get right now. We have been combing through different mask tutorials and patterns trying to find the quickest and easiest mask design; let us know what you think! MANDATORY SOCIAL DISTANCING: While open we will be maintaining the required six feet of space between other customers and employees. We will be using one labeled counter for drop-offs and the other for collecting information. We will also be able to retrieve your machine from your TRUNK ONLY, just give us a call when you arrive and we will collect your information over the phone. PROPER NOTIFICATION: We are here to help keep your homes and machines clean, but for our safety and the safety of all of our customers, we MUST BE NOTIFIED if anyone in your home has suffered from any symptoms of general sickness PRIOR TO BRINGING YOUR MACHINE IN. We will then relay the proper preparations needed to receive the machine if accepting the machine is possible. STAY HOME IF THE VISIT IS NOT NECESSARY: As grateful as we are for your business, everyone's safety comes first and foremost. Please remember we are able to ship all shopping items We except a variety of forms of payments through various processors! Picking my "favorite quitling book" is NOT easy ...I am constantly going from book to book for different things but my favorite book for inspiration is the new(er) #ModerQuilts book from @themqg! I got in a bunch of these after #QuiltCon2018 and it's the first book I grab to show the sheer versatility of quilters! Today's #igquiltfestday12 is "pressing matters" so I get a chance to share a bit of my home workspace and my @rowentausa #freestyleiron. This iron was my first big #sewing purchase from the shop and I'm so happy with it! Life gotten a bit busy this last few days and I kinda fell off my #igquiltfest2020 post 😬 Buut ....I'm back on a great day! Today's prompt is "why do you quilt?" And boy is that a loaded question! 😂 There are so many things to love about quilting and to keep me coming back to it it's almost impossible to put it in words, but I'd say the best thing I get from quilting, and the reason I love being in the quilting business is the PEOPLE. The connections you make quilting and working with quilters are like nothing else. In this past four years I have met so many amazing, inspiring, gorgeous people; generous, wise, resourceful, indomitable. My mom (aka the #craigslist warrior) recently brought tons of vintage department store fabric samples that were being thrown away and it's our goal to get all these amazing swatches washed, sorted and prepped to be upcycled!
