BEHIND THE MUSE RULES AND GUIDELINES ALTERNATE UNIVERSES AND HEADCANONS ORIGINAL CHARACTERS
Which one would you pick?
Just three? No explanation? No idea if I’m going to be a background character, minion, or side character, or main character? Sonic The Hedgehog - Chances of me being turned into a robot or Sonic breezing through town long enough for Eggman/Robotnik to catch up is a low chance. GUN might be my biggest concern, but honestly? I feel naively safe here.
Kingdom Hearts - I feel like the same thing sort of applies here. I mean, where am I going to end up and what is the probability of heartless attacking wherever I am? I’ll probably end up a heartless without even realizing it. It would be kinda cool to be a heartless though...
Sly Cooper - Because barely anything cool happens in Missouri. What are they going to do? Find a long lost journal of Connor Cooper in the St. Louis Arch? Who’s the big bad watching over that?

For the first time in millennia, Yellow Diamond felt nothing. The energy that she was accustomed to, that had been so much a part of her existence, was gone. Gone was that spark, that surging intensity, the impenetrable life force within her she felt every waking moment. There was nothing but cold and darkness to accompany her, where her gem now resided. Only her feeble consciousness remained, sustained by the sliver of a security light cast through a slit window.

It was only a matter of time before Stanley "Alcatraz" Pines got caught. What he hadn't expected was for his captures to be the freaking TPAES! It was one thing for the law enforcement from whatever dimension he'd been spat out in to come after him, or even some sleazy demon working for Bill and hoping to curry favor to try and get the drop on him, but this was something else entirely. He hadn't even done anything to disrupt the timeline as far as he knew. He was only trying to survive until his brother opened up the portal into their world for him to go through. With each day he held out hope that soon this nightmarish adventure would be over, yet each day he found himself losing more and more hope. His brother was a genius, he constantly reminded himself. If the portal wasn't open yet then it just meant that his twin needed more time. Just because he was a genius didn't mean he wasn't human. He most likely needed this and that and of course sleep and food and human interaction. It would take a bit, Stanley was fully aware of this, and yet he doubted. He knew that his brother had different priorities and the voice in the back of his head, the one that sounded a lot like the obnoxious tones of the monster that caused all this to begin with, constantly pointed out that these priorities didn't typical work out for him. Kicking and snapping at the guards that had capture him only resulted in them muting him with a god honest remote control. If he hadn't been so stunned about that he would have continued trying to bite or squirm free. Instead the fight had drained out of him - that voice telling him once more that he should just give up. At least in prison there wouldn't be a bit of a reprieve from people hunting him down. That, to him, could be considered a plus. He could actually rest, and if this place was like any prison back home he wouldn't need to worry about starving to death. He'd be getting three meals a day, some time for activity, and would be able to rest, hopefully, without worrying about his cellmate trying to shank him while he slept. It was a good deal, in a way, but he wouldn't allow himself to get too comfortable - couldn't afford it actually. While he had no doubt in his mind about the accuracy of what he'd heard about the "Time Squad" he also didn't believe it would be enough to keep Bill at bay for too long. If Bill had an interest in something then he wasn't easily dissuaded. At the same time, however, if Bill knew where he was and knew that he couldn't escape then he wouldn't bother to move him. Why would he when he could watch him and possibly retrieve him if needed? Yeah, he was going to have to figure out an escape plan posthaste. In the meantime, however... Finally arriving at his cell, the younger Pines Twin was tossed inside and unmuted. The neon green bars prevented him from escaping, and he knew enough about alternate dimensions to know that touching these ones wouldn't be a pleasant sensation. Instead he moved closer to the cell and glared out of the bars at the two that had taken him in, demanding that they at least tell him what he was brought in for as the list of crimes committed by him was, admittedly, extensive, but they merely ignored him and walked away in unison. With nothing more to do and while nursing a splitting headache, Stanley found himself leaning against the wall and sliding down - ignoring the cot that was off to the side and allowing himself a small moment to rest-- --Only to be awoken by another prisoner. He jerked to attention and mentally chastised himself for letting down his guard. It was weird, feeling safe enough to sleep for who knows how long, but his body had just seemed to react to the fact that, at least for now, he didn't have to worry about running and hiding. It was why, in his groggy yet somewhat aware state, that he remained quiet and squinted through narrowed eyes watching the retreating form of the guards while trying to figure out just where the heck his new roomie happened to be. Perhaps they'd taken the cot that he'd neglected. It was strange, or maybe it wasn't, that they hadn't even acknowledged him on the floor. Too focused on proclaiming that these mooks had no idea who it was they were dealing with. Of course when no response came the tone of voice shifted into something else; an emotion that Stanley wasn't prepared to deal with. He rose to his feet and turned his attention towards the empty cot and scratched the top his head in confusion before trying to find something that was out of place or wasn't there before. He had seen many different beings and species during his travels, big, small, in-between, etc. What his eyes finally settled on, however, was something entirely new that had him canting his head slightly to the side as uncertainty and curiosity pulled him closer. "They're definitely gone," he answered slowly to the suitcase, the only thing that was different about this cell that he could immediately pinpoint. "Welcome to the clink, roomie."

Once every few years or so, Vlad made a habit to visit the towns of some of his business partners across the globe. He considered this a welcome vacation from his usual– being a mayor, especially of the town where his one true love resided wed to that big bumbling idiot– was emotionally taxing at times. “Hm… now where is the next stop–” Vlad removed a list from his pocket, “–ah, yes, the Northwest family. How could I forget?” He shifted into his ghost form and was in the town within an hour.
Once he’d landed, Vlad changed back into his human form. The man had some time yet before his scheduled publicity stunt/business meeting with Preston Northwest, so he figured he’d see what was going on in this backwoods town nowadays.
He looked around idly and realized he’d landed himself in front of some… knick-knack mystery house? Strange– the last time he had even been to this cabin, it was the home of a scientist. Oh how the times had changed.
Vlad glanced at his watch. Well, he had time to kill anyway. He stepped up to the porch of this shack and knocked. At least this would be something to relieve himself of the boredom he’d undoubtedly have by taking a walk or something.
@seriously-crazed-up-fruitloop "--and remember that we put the fun in no refunds!" The last of the tour group exited the shack as the proprietor of the "knick-knack mystery house" watched from the porch leading from the gift shop. The grin on his face spoke of the profits he'd made - the group being a particular gullible group of suckers. Wad of cash in hand, he dragged his thumb against the edges flipping the money before chuckling to himself and closing his door. He looked form left to right, just to make absolutely sure there were no stragglers left. His eyes landed on the teenager that hardly looked up from her magazine during the entire tour as well as his handyman whom returned from the upper level with a small grin on his face. Stanley, for his part, merely ran a hand down the front of his face as he made his way towards the register. "Why don't you two go ahead and get outta here." The comment prompted the redhead to finally look up at her employer, eyebrow raised questioningly before realizing that she shouldn't question her luck. "Say less, boss man. Peace." "Yeah yeah yeah, ya lazy--" "Are you sure Mr. Pines? I just got most of the attic fixed up just like you asked, and it's still pretty early! I don't think my abuelita would mind! I mean she won't mind me coming home early either but--" "Mr. P. probs just has some super secret old man biz to deal with. Let's just go, man." While Wendy talked Soos out of staying behind due to his own sense of obligation, Stanley sat behind the counter and popped open the register before pulling out the money within and counting up the til. When he heard the sound of the door closing solidly as well as Soos's truck starting up, the man released a deep exhale - his body taking on a more noticeable shimmer than it had moment's prior and his form becoming a little less corporeal. "Not yet," he murmured as he restarted his count after losing his focus only to once more lose it due to the unexpected knock to the door. His eyes shot up immediately while he reflexively forced himself to solidify - his ethereal glow diminishing just a bit with the extra effort. He grunted, removing himself from the stool he'd perched on while he practically glided from register to door. When he realized he planted his feet solidly to the ground, and opened the door with his signature scowl. "Sorry, you just missed the last tour." He was just about to close the door when something made him pause. He couldn't quite explain what it was, but he lingered in the door way just a bit longer - expectantly, giving this newcomer the opportunity to say or do something before he could even think of slamming the door.
Just got a new laptop today, so I should be able to get to owes real soon. I see the starters and replies that I have, and I can’t wait to get to them. I’m gunning for this weekend! It should give me time to set up the new laptop and make sure it’s working fine.

fordsixerpines:
Ford grabbed the cup of coffee that was also on the table and took a long drink from it before continuing to eat the food his brother had brought down. If he could invent some kind of device to just teleport food into his stomach, he would– Ford found eating to be a waste of time. It was a shame it was quite literally necessary to survive.
At some level, Ford knew he appreciated Stanley for keeping him in check. Ford really needed to relax a little at his age… with how he kept himself going all the time, it would be a shocker if the man lived to his supposed death age of 92 proclaimed by Bill long ago. He could and would easily run himself into the ground without someone like Stan around to make him take a break every now and then.
“Hm… you as well? Intrusive thoughts can be– frustrating.”
It was actually his own intrusive thoughts that led the stubborn scientist to start looking into another method of creating a portal. He would be damned if he let that isosceles monster keep him too afraid to continue his life’s work.
He ate far quicker than he expected. Apparently he’d been hungrier than he had thought. Upon finishing the sandwich, he turned toward Stan and looked at the jelly beans with an outstretched hand. His hand fell to his side, however, upon his brother’s words.
“I– of course I know that, Stanley. It’s just… well, we don’t typically stay here long in between adventures, and I need a place with a weak spot in our dimension to complete and stabilize my current project,” He paused, hoping he hadn’t said too much, then continued, “Besides… unless I discover a formula for eternal youth– which I MAY be working on as well, fyi, so it would be best to not drink the liquid from the jar in our fridge labeled ASC/138– I only have so long to perfect my new research in time to publish it. We aren’t exactly young anymore.”
Ford took another drink of the coffee before smiling again and reaching his hand back out, “Anyway– jelly beans.” Ford cringed, but continued, “Ahem. Please.”
He didn't want to admit that coming down into his brother's super secret basement lab brought out a lot of anxiety in him so instead he simply shrugged and mentally chastised himself for speaking out loud. Hopefully, with their shared frustrations at these unwelcome thoughts, Ford would decide not to ask what these thoughts pertained to. "That's one word for it," he agreed before allowing himself to relax a little when his brother finally started eating, or rather attempting to take first prize as a human vacuum by more or less inhaling the sandwich. On the one hand it meant Ford did have an appetite, and was just once more too into his studies and projects to eat. This was something that would never change. Stanley pretended not to see his brother's outstretched hand indicating that he would like his jelly beans until he became aware of how he was acting more like his twins parent - like Ma, and that was another thought that he could do without. They had a lot to talk about, and he wasn't sure he was ready for that. In the meantime, however, Ford's need to fill the silence gave him something to focus on. "That makes sense," he said slowly, drawing out the last word and eying his twin with some suspicion. That pause gave away that there was a game here, but not exactly what that was. Of course he knew that Gravity Falls was a cesspool of weird and that weirdness leaked in from other dimensions. There must have been plenty of reasons why this was perfect for whatever was going on. Despite the little voice in the back of his head trying to convince him that he should probably be worried, Stanley brushed it off. He trusted his brother and had faith that his twin wouldn't be doing anything too dangerous. "Eternal youth?" he asked. "Follow up, wouldn't you need to be young first? Then again you're definitely more in shape than I am. Do you even have old man pains?" he jabbed his elbow into his twin's arm and let out a more relaxed grin - loosening up a bit so that he didn't show that he was still a little annoyed with that fact that Ford would never be able to keep proper track of time when he was knee deep in his experiments. "Yeah whatever, Sixer. Here, take your magic beans. No, they're not really magic. At least I don't think. The only thing magical about them are the price, not that it mattered." The smarmy smile of a sleazy businessman crossed his features - a clear indicator that there was no payment involved in acquiring those jelly beans. "Seriously though, Ford. I get it. This place has some serious juju for weirdness unlike any other place in the world as far as we know, but you can't spend forever down here otherwise you'll miss what's going on out there. 'sides, I might have lived here for thirty years, but I wasn't exactly going all out to explore." In his own way, he was trying to coerce his brother into showing him around the woods, but without actually...admitting that he was attempting. It would be an adventure close to home. Besides, it wasn't like they needed to leave the cabin anytime soon.

“Hm… it just doesn’t make sense. Let’s see… carry the one…. account for dimensional differences…” Ford currently had his back turned to the entrance to his lab, his focus on the experiment he was working on. When the researcher heard someone come in, he assumed it was Stanley or the kids. “Can you hand me the blue pen? The one right near you on the floor? I threw it in a fit of scientists frustration and cannot be bothered to grab it.” His eyes did not shift away from the chalkboard in front of him.
Once again his twin had neglected to cease his work to come up from his laboratory for lunch which meant the slightly younger sibling had to make the trek into the basement to drag him out. When he’d completed the reconstruction of the transdi-whatsit portal he had been hoping that the journey to and fro would cease. He wasn’t as spry as his twin was - having spent the last thirty years deceiving tourists, studying and learning complicated mathematics, science, and theories that would have made his younger self vomit from the sheer amount of work - self-taught especially - that had gone into it. He’d sat in this basement for countless hours; overcoming the fear of enclosed spaces after being locked in the trunk of a car, etc, and yet here he was. With a plate in hand Stanley Pines exited the elevator and entering into more open area of his brother’s lab with a scowl on his face. Before he had the opportunity to open his mouth to reprimand his brother for failing to acquire sustenance his Stanford spoke. A glance downward had him spotting the discarded pen. He crouched down, knees cracking causing him to wince and exhale as he grabbed the object before standing and walking over. Instead of handing his brother the blue pen he held out the plate, a sandwich with a small enticing bag of jelly beans that Mabel had tossed on after learning they were a favorite snack of Ford’s. “I’m going to throw you in a fit of brotherly frustration if I have to keep reminding you to come up from your nerdcave to eat,” he ribbed as he put the pen in his pocket and presented the sandwich to his brother while deliberately showing off the jelly beans before taking them from the plate.
Of course Stanley was going to stop him mid-brainstorm session. Ford scrawled down a few more notes on the sheet of paper he was working with before glancing over toward Stan.
“Stanley, I am in the middle of something huge– I have not touched on this in quite some time, but-” He sighed and placed a sheet over the chalkboard, not wanting to make Stan concerned with his current research. Stanford was studying the same thing he had decades prior… portals to other dimensions… but this time he was doing it safely without the help of the dream demon he’d once considered a muse. In his mind, travel around the globe was one thing. With THIS technology, they could be Stanley and Stanford Pines, adventurers of the multiverse.
Ford’s focus was taken away from his research as his eyes fixed on the plate… namely, the jelly beans. His stomach growled, and he realized in that moment that he had not eaten yet that day. As he was about to reach for the jelly beans, his twin removed them from the plate, and Ford scowled.
“I was going to eat those,” He muttered, before reluctantly taking the sandwich and sitting down at his barely used “lounge table” to eat.
“How many hours has it been since lunch, anyway? I… apparently got carried away. Again.”
Stanley merely fixed his twin with a look that would make their mother proud - his eyes narrowing slightly with each word spoken until he was just about squinting. He was hardly taking in Stanford's words because whatever he was working on was of little concern to him. If his brother wanted to spend all his time in the basement to further his non-dangerous research then fine, let him, but he was supposed to come up for air every couple of hours. He could have sworn they talked about this on more than one occasion. As Stanford put cut himself off and covered his work Stanley remained stationary, practically daring his twin to try to find some way out of eating. Instead his brother's stomach for him causing Stanley's mother hen act to drop. It dropped even further at Ford's disappointment when his jelly beans were confiscated. "Food first, then dessert," he said as his brother took the plate and sat down to eat. With his hands free the younger twin let his arms drop to his side and found his eyes wandering around the basement. The lack of massive machinery looming over the entire basement was an upgrade, but he still hated the feeling of being down here - echoes of memory constantly taunting him. He had them back at this point - but the always seemed to flash in front of him at inopportune times; reminding him of their fight and what he'd lost. "Eesh, they were kidding about the intrusive part of intrusive thoughts, were they?" he mutted before looking redirecting his confused gaze to Stanford. "Huh? Uhhhhh..." He was sure Ford asked him about lunch. Knowing him? It was probably a question about how long it'd been since lunch. "Coupl'a hours, give or take. You know all this science-y stuff is going to be here when you're done topside, yeah?"
Played my first game of Dungeons and Dragons last night. It was definitely overwhelming, and I still have nervous energy, but I had fun and I’m looking forward to learning and playing more. Hopefully I’ll find that character voice pffffftlmao.

Gonna close out of the twelve threads that have been sitting here for about a year old. No idea where my writing partners have gone, but if you guys come back and wanna write we can continue or we can start something new. (I’m probably going to push for something new, lmao.) With that being said be looking out for a starter call at some point in the new future. Going to continue my revamping (If you know, you know), and then I’m going to ask the people who I owe if they’re even still interested in writing with me. I’ve been through a lot and have been on Discord and doing a bit of gaming mostly. I quit one of my jobs (I had three which is a very long story, but I finally got rid of the one that caused the most stress) on top of finally dropping another stressful person in my life. So I’m feeling a lot better, but I’m trying to...synchronize isn’t the right word, but it’s close. I’m trying to get back into things and tumblr is one of them.
With that said I did have to delete my multimuse account once I finally got back into it, but Stanley is of course here to stay and I did pull at least one character from my multi-account here. I don’t think I’ll do much with him. Honestly it was such a spur of the moment things. Then I need to get back into drawing. I haven’t drawn much recently, and I have so many ideas that i need to jot down. I’m going through a reboot. That’s what it is. Anyway, that’s all for this update. Sorry I keep randomly disappearing. Hopefully I won’t keep disappearing, but for those of you who’ve read my rules you were already prepared for my vanishing act, and I appreciate you being so patient and understanding.

Stanley G. thought he walked out of the souvenir shop outside the Tent but now he’s… outside the Tent of Telepathy, but… the road is more dirt than asphalt and… more woods everywhere.
It takes him a moment to process the situation. Bud Gleeful approaches him with a confused look that hides a very… sinister glare.
“Ey, Pines! What’s up with your wear? Ya tryin’ ta imitate ‘widdle’ Gideon?” Bud points and laughs at Stanley. The other elderly man just… blinks at this guy and examines his… Hawaiian shirt and…. what’s that hat? Hmmm… this isn’t the Bud he knows, who beats Gideon Pines.
“Well… erm.” Stanley is at a loss for words. He takes a step back. “Yer outfit is horrendous.” Is all he could comeback with. Kind of cringing from how disgusting Bud Gleeful dresses.
He turns to try to get away but he’s blocked by— is this Gideon? What’s with the baby blue suit and… oh no… he’s got an amulet…
“Daddy, why’s Stanferd all dressed up like me? Is he tryin’ ta steal my life?!” Ack, Stanley takes a step back from Gideon and freezes, now unsure what to do next!
Gleeful nods and can’t help but agree with the other’s compromise of scoping the local area out and figuring out what’s where and when the nuclear waste facility up the road is empty enough without any security.
“There’s barely a little window at around… Mmmm…” he brings a hand up to his face, pinching the bridge of his nose as he recalls by memory only. “W-Within the hours of eleven at night an’ I think ‘til like… three in deh morning.”
He’s… Broken into many facilities before. That one though, is a little… Well, needless to say… They review their security footage a little too well.
He follows his counterpart up to the elevator. Feeling a bit guilty for even mentioning how to fix everything up for him so damn soon like this. He wonders if this universe has those strange little guns that Fiddleford invented to keep the townspeople quiet about the family’s crimes… The ones that supposedly ‘wipe’ the immediate memory from the subjects’ minds. Then again, he has no immediate reason to use one of said devices on Pines. If anything, it seems like he and Pines are good at the one thing they’re actually known for: Keeping secrets.
He keeps his mouth shut, now playing it like how he grew up even, only speak when told to and don’t verbally question anything. Also, that anything’s legal when there’s no cops around. He seems to stare at his own feet on the way back up to the main area of the Mystery Shack. Deep in thoughts…
"That means we'll hafta make multiple trips if we wanna map out the whole place unless they got a conveniently placed floor plan laying around. Well that or you just happen to know the layout and everything is in the same place. I'm hopin' fer the latter 'cause that'll make my life easier. Once we get in and out with the waste I doubt I'll have any trouble breaking in again until they up security or fix the places where they're lax in." Too many trips to prison and two many escape attempts, B&E, and an assortment of other situations taught him various lessons that he was not about to forget for as long as he lived. A place with radioactive waste, he assumed, would be just as guarded because they wouldn't want people snooping around especially if it was owned by the government. People snooping around and gaining information was grounds to make people disappear, and in a small town like Gravity Falls where the same twenty people lived it'd be kinda obvious if something was to go down and who they should be pointing their fingers at. "Alright so lemme know what you think of this. Tomorrow morning around lunch we do some driving around - two old guys just doing a routine grocery run or something like that. We figured out where this building is and how many cameras we can see on the outside. Once done we come back at around at ten or so - park a good deal and walk the rest of the way to see if your timing is right - scope out who or maybe what is guarding the entrances and time the guards on their rounds if we have to worry about them?"
