            scar’s ability to read emotions comes very well, considering the fact that he is VERY OBSERVANT of others. whether it be the way they carry themselves on a daily basis to situational body language and tone of voice and EVEN the glint in their eye, reading emotions comes with ease. now whether or not he CATERS to the emotions of others? questionable.

            scar handles difficult people extremely well. a prime example of a “difficult” person in his life would definitely be simba. though only a child, scar finds simba to be extremely difficult and a nuisance to deal with. however, because scar is EXTREMELY cunning, charming, and VERY sarcastic, difficult people are only a game to him.

“Well, yeah. I mean there’s barely any rocks around here so of course it’s gonna be different.“ the cub answered as he ran behind the tiger occasionally batting at his tail as he passed while feeling rather oblivious to Scar’s defensive position. Rajah wouldn’t hurt a fly if he knew one, at least in Simba’s mind anyway. 

“You gotta see my kingdom in the Pridelands, Jas. It’s gotta be the biggest one in the whole world cause my Dad says that everything the light touches is gonna be all mine.” There’s a smirk on the youngster’s maw as he spoke. “There are all kinds of animals too, like birds, elephants, zebras, impala, even hippos. We should all fly on Carpet to see it sometime. It’s great! Plus I can introduce you to my Mom, Dad, Zazu and the rest of the pride if we can get there. Maybe your Baba can come too.” 

The cub continued to trot on ahead giving his Uncle a smile. “Right Uncle Scar? Isn’t the Pridelands great? It’s the best place to live. Maybe Jasmine could even build a palace there too so the whole pride could live there. Wouldn’t that be great?”

Jasmine nonchalantly leaned against Raja’s side, not noticing that Scar was slightly off-put by his presence. “Your kingdom?” she repeated Simba’s words with a raised brow. What an odd line of ruling! She was under the impression that it was the King’s son who would take over–not his nephew. 

Perhaps the line to the throne went straight to Simba because Scar didn’t have any cubs of his own–yes, that makes sense. “It sounds like a wonderful place, Simba. One day we’ll definitely all visit it together,” she replied with a smile. How exactly she’d convince her father that such a trip was necessary would be a problem for later; she really did want to see their home again. 

“A palace in the Pridelands?” she asked with a laugh, what a thought! “What do you think, Scar? Should we build one there?” she teased with a grin.

            SCAR   GAVE   A   FALSE   SMILE ,   ANOTHER   SLY   CHUCKLE   ESCAPING   FROM   HIS   LIPS .   he   raised   his   paw   to   be   even   with   his   head ,   extending   his   claws   in   a   manner   that   showed   approval   for   such   an   idea .   though   this   approval   would   be   nothing   short   of   dishonest ,   the   lion   decided   that   it   would   be   best   to   humor   the   princess   and   his   nephew .   after   all ,   a   palace   in   the   pridelands ?   that   could   POSSIBLY   blow   his   cover .

At first, Jasmine figured he wanted to stop the discussion. I mean, he’s laying down away from me…and he’s not saying anything. She took his action personally and just as she was about to storm off, the lion turned to face her. There you go again, Jasmine, making rash assumptions. As often as she told herself to just wait and not be hasty, the princess knew there was a small chance she would change anytime soon.

She took a seat on the ground as he began talking, crossing her legs over one another. “That’s nothing to feel bad about,” she said softly, “Just because someone’s been gone for a long time, it doesn’t mean you should miss them any less.” Jasmine hoped she was saying the right things to comfort Scar. I may have never been close to any of my parents…but I do know what it’s like to miss someone. 

            HE   SLOWLY   CLOSED   HIS   EYES ,   OBSERVING   AS   JASMINE   KINDLY   SPOKE   TO   HIM .   he   was   perfectly   aware   of   everything   that   she   was   saying ,   but   he   felt   a   PANG   of   worry   in   his   heart .   weakness   was   not   something   that   scar   was   ready   to   show   to   her ,   so   this   whole   situation   felt   so   FOREIGN   and ,   quite   frankly ,   scary   to   the   slender    beast .   he   stared   blankly   at   the   princess   before   he   began   to   speak .

            ❛   she   was   the   only   person   who   KNEW   who   i   was .   much   better   than   my   FATHER   did . ❜   scar   spat   out   the   word   father   with   such   ANGER .

At any cost, she wanted to avoid answering his question. The former Queen feared that if she said she did want to know, which she did not, Scar would deduct that his threat was not enough, and he would exact more cruel means to break her. And if she said she did not want to know, he would find painful ways to tell her anyways.

So instead, Sarabi looked over her shoulder and mustered a truly malicious expression. With every ounce of her sorrow and fury, she spat, 

“you are not my King.”

            HIS   EYES   GLINTED   FAINTLY   WITH   IRRITATION .   scar   knew   sarabi’s   feelings   towards   him   and   how   she   resented   his   place   on   the   throne ,   but   scar   didn’t   care .    she   was   supposed   to   RESPECT   him   and   his   place   on   the   throne .   and   the   fact   that   she   didn’t ?   well ,   it   was   INFURIATING   to   say   the   least.

OKAY LADIES, GENTS, AND LOVELY HUMANS. today we’re gonna talk about the lion king remake. the good, the bad, and the ugly. SPOILERS AHEAD (EVEN THO ITS BASICALLY THE SAME DAMN THING)

so i’m gonna try to keep this as short as possible, but here it is. kay’s views on the “live action” remake. tw for cussing 

NNNNNNNAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNTS INGONYAMMAAAAAA I LIKE HOW THEY KEPT THE BEGINNING TRUE TO THE ORIGINAL. EXACTLY THE SAME AND PERFECTLY FLUID AND JUST AKFKSJHDFKHSD.  okay that part, ill be honest, made me cry like a little bitch. i was totally blown away by the beautiful graphics at the beginning ( and through the whole film really ) and just how fluid the animation was. the animals did indeed look real and the camera angles at the beginning were perfect.

i don’t wanna even talk about the fucking vocals because that shit was just NOICE. like, god damn disney. fucking it UPPP over here.

ALSO I GOT TO SEE BABY KIARA AND MY HEART <333 UWU

okay but now to the meat and potatoes of this bitch.

the high points of the movie for me were obviously the singing and how true they stayed to the original as well as the added dialogue and scenes between sarabi and nala and the other lionesses. they did such a good job at filling in the little plot holes the original had, though they were simple enough. plus of course the animation was absolutely STUNNING and i have nothing to complain about whatsoever.

now for the shit that i didn’t like? i didn’t fucking,,, like,, at ALL ENJOY,,, the stupid fucking LOVE TRIANGLE THING? how fucking scar loved sarabi. i refuse to allow that shit to be in my canon portrayal for scar. SCAR, CHARACTERISTICALLY, DOESN’T LOVE SARABI AT ALL. IF ANYTHING SCAR SEES SARABI AS A NUISANCE AND THE ONLY THING HE LOVES TO DO WITH HER IS BOTHER HER AND BE A MASOCHISTIC ASS.

im just gonna pretend that shit doesnt even EXIST.

some of the voice acting was very amateurish. if you want me to be honest, young simba was sort of below average in terms of acting. not knocking it too much considering the VA was literally a child, but jonathan taylor thomas’s overall voice performance to me was better even though i did enjoy the new portrayal. but lets be real: when simba screamed NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO after mufasa died.... that,,, was... not good.

the expressions, or LACK THEREOF, where mildly annoying to me. there wasn’t a whole lot of life to the characters faces, EVEN WHEN MUFASA DIED SIMBA WAS STILL LIKE     o___o

but whatever it was supposed to be realistic or some shit, just make the lions emote pls. yall didnt have an issue w/ that in the chronicles of narnia w/ aslan but w/e i just fuckin work here

sorta wish jeremy irons voiced scar again but w/e that’s fine too. 

BE PREPARED WASN’T GREAT... the scene itself was fine and i enjoyed the end of it but they fucked with the song TOO DAMN MUCH AND IM SORT OF SALTY ABOUT IT BUT FUCK WHATEVER I GUESS

not mad at timon and pumba too much but call me a shithead but i missed the “they call me MR. PIGGGGGGG” and the scene with timon doing hula dancing. however, i will say the change from that to be our guest from beauty and the beast was pretty cool. i call 50/50 on that, fine with both.

also i enjoyed how zazu got to be part of the plan. cute shit. missed the “LEMME OUT LEMME OUT / LEMME IN LEMME IN” bit tho. rafiki was golden as always however and i was happy they included him in the fight scene.

also didn’t like how they fucked with ed’s and banzai’s names, SUE ME. and they made shenzi too damn serious but it was a good take on her, but i found myself missing the puns. MAKE MINE, A CUB SANDWICH, WHA’CHU THINK? sorry, thats funny as fuck. but overall i did enjoy their portrayal and im not mad at it. 7/10 for me

overall i really liked the movie and would watch it again, but the original remains at the number one spot in my heart and soul. i give this movieeeeeeeee

So, Sarabi remained wordless, her eyes opening again and a churning storm of emotion building in her gut, fiery gaze flashing with a plethora of unspoken sentiments. She would not allow him to bring out the worst in her. 

            ANOTHER   CHUCKLE   ESCAPED   THE   LION’S   LIPS .   he   approached   the   lioness   silently ,   padding   behind   her   body   to   where   his   lips   were   INCHES   away   from   her   ear .   an    exhale   escaped   his   lips   as   he   did   so ,   but   he   knew   the   lioness   dare   not   hesitate .   scar   knew   sarabi   wouldn’t   allow   herself   to   show   her   fear   towards   him ,   even   though   the   maned   beast   knew   she   had   some   trepidation   towards   his   power .

            ❛   now ,   now   sarabi   ----------   how    RUDE   must   you   be   towards   your   KING ,   hm ?   you   DO   wish   to   know   my   truths ,   do   you   NOT ?  ❜

Jasmine waited for his words, hanging off every syllable. His mother? She would’ve never guessed that it was the thought of his parent that haunted him. Jasmine, herself, hadn’t ever been too attached to her father to ever think thoughts of him would haunt her. 

Even if she couldn’t understand his pain, the princess would try her best to help Scar. Jasmine stood and walked around to his side. He still wasn’t facing her but at least now they were closer. “What about her?” she tried to get him to continue talking. A hand, once again, reached out to pet the lion’s mane. Perhaps he’d be more willing to talk this way: with Jasmine not directly looking at him but still physically showing her support.

            HE   FELT   HIS   BODY   FALL ,   SLOWLY   LAYING   HIS   FRAME   AS   PEACEFULLY   AS   HE   COULD   TO   THE   COOL   GROUND .   his   eyes   flickered ,   GREEN   HUES   flashing   in   the   light .   frustration   overcame   his   nerves ,   blood   growing   in   temperature   rapidly   as   he   lay   quietly   to   calm   himself .   after   a   moment   of   silence   on   his   end , scar’s   figure   shifted ,   rolling   his   entire   body   to   face   the   other   side with   his   eyes   meeting   the   princess’s .   his   slender   frame   expanded   as   the   lion   inhaled   deeply ,   his   next   sentence   coming   out   almost   as   a   breathy   murmur   in   order   to   remain   his   composure .

            ❛   i   find   myself    yearning   for   her   presence ,   even   after   all   of   these   years . ❜   his   gaze   flicked   away   from   the   princess’s   brown   hues ,   vacantly   looking   at   nothing   in   particular .
