A day doesn’t go by that doesn’t include...? Singing, I have a rule about singing every day.

There's definitely a certain pressure with a live show, which is why you get that high. I always still have that sense that I could mess up. There's always still a little bit of a jumping-off-a-cliff thing that happens.
I've always loved doing a show, whether it's music or theater. Getting ready for the show, doing the show, being done with it. There's something really satisfying about going from the beginning to the end and seeing it all through.
Music definitely came first. As a little kid I was thinking that was the route I was going. And then I started to really fall in love with theater and I realized what I love about music is the stories and the words. I can actually remember someone coming up to me — ‘cause I used to sing a lot at church and stuff like that — “I love when you sing at church because I feel like I can feel the words.” That stuck with me. I was realizing there was something besides just the music. It was more about telling stories.
Is there another character on "Community" you wish you could play? Absolutely not. I love Annie. I love her dearly but also I just think everyone else is cast so perfectly in their roles. I can’t imagine, even as a dream character, to say I’d want to play Abed or something would be so out there because how could anyone else be Abed?
Baby, nothing you say will ever please me – baby, nothing you do will ever reach me. Baby, nothing you say will ever keep me.
Forget the day you’ve had, forget the loves you’ve lived Oh you and I are experts at pretending to be kids
I think there’s been a shift in how sexual women are portrayed in film. There’s been a separation from the virtuous leading lady that maybe just has a peck on the lips to the seductress. It’s just this whole different type of woman. It’s very contemporary and I feel like this is more true to how people live in life today. It’s a more accessible type of sexuality that’s realistic and non-malicious. It’s not meant to be scary, it’s just a reality.
