Trustbites AU

After the VSMP finale, Legundo wakes up/is revived in Oakhurst as a human just a few months before the massacre. He concludes that the reason he's here is to find a way to stop the massacre from ever happening, without giving himself away (or strangling Owen).

Little side points for fun:

-This isn't just go back in time to fix the future, he's just fully in a different reality that's following the same events. Aka Oakhurst might still exist in 200 years if all goes well lol

-He 100% plans to throw himself off a bridge once he's sure Louis and Owen are safe and together. Louis is not happy about this idea.

-He neglects his health so badly in trying to figure out a cure for Owen that when he visits Louis always cooks something for him. He is vegetarian after his short time as a vampire and unfortunately tries his best to not be squeamish around blood.

-Owen has a mixed opinion on him but mostly he's jealous and thinks that Legundo flinches around him because of his disease.

-Protective and possessive Louis :> he loves his stupidly stubborn humans that he gets to take care of

-Legundo is such a weird doctor to them. He's at least giving it a shot at properly curing Owen before they have to turn to vampirism. I like to think his bag came with him and thus all of his medical equipment. He also does not believe in the four humors and that's literally so strange (but also gives him brownie points in the eyes of Owen). I'm still placing VSMP in the late 1800s though, so he only knows and can do so much.

-Legundo almost always checks up on Owen only while Louis is around, partially due to unease but also for Owen's comfort.

AU: The undead-- skeletons, zombies-- seem to be common in Oakhurst, but the casualness the characters approach them with implies they're common in the rest of the world too. But what if they weren't?

Because being the literal only survivor of a massacre is kind of unusual, isn't it? It implies the people carrying it out were methodical, and could take their time checking that people were dead. Only one missed? In an entire town? Yeah, they were checking.

...Or they could smell it.

Like zombies.

And of course, we have the other human with a massacre in his backstory. And that one involved poisoning the water and food supply until the victims started eating each other.

I see you: vampires and a zombie apocalypse at the same time, and I raise (haha) you: the zombie apocalypse is 20 years old, and Doc Legs started it.

you know what’s interesting to me about shelby’s pov (one of many things that is) is that from her perspective, pyro’s behavior looks almost, like, intentional. you know. the vampires gone woke bit IS very funny but it’s also a crucial bit of foreshadowing i think because scott’s making fun of pyro for calling him sire in front of shelby. and the thing is that pyro knows scott is commanding that respect and subservience from him. scott knows that too. shelby doesn’t know that. so to her, pyro is calling scott a corny cliche vampire title, scott is teasing him, and pyro makes a little quip about it. shelby definitely had a willful ignorance problem but it was also a concentrated effort from scott to hide his wrongdoings from her, because he liked her and wanted her to stay. like you can say what you will about her actions later on but in this scene i genuinely believe the only reasonable assumption she could have made there was “my weird friends are making fun of each other”. and it sets the tone for the way shelby turns a blind eye to pyro’s suffering — the teasing came from something silly that he did, so that must be the basis of pyro and scott’s relationship; subconsciously she believes it must be something pyro has done to make scott tease and poke at him rather than scott’s individual choice to torment him.
