I always thought Reddit was a place where people could share things they created.A few days ago I posted one of my original paintings. People loved it. We had wonderful conversations about art, emotions, and how everyone saw something different in the same sunset.
About two hours later I was permanently banned from r/MadeMeSmile for “self-promotion.”
I accepted that different communities have different rules. But then something even stranger happened.Soon afterward, a moderator from r/pics started going through my account. Not just the new post—many of my older painting posts disappeared as well. One after another. Then I was permanently banned there too.
Maybe it was the same moderator. Maybe it wasn’t. I honestly don’t know.
What surprised me wasn’t even the ban itself. It was realizing how much power individual moderators have over what millions of people are allowed to see. One decision can erase years of posts from a community and instantly cut off your ability to participate, even if those posts had been happily sitting there for months or years.I’m not saying moderators shouldn’t have rules. Communities need moderation. But it does make you wonder where the line is between protecting a community and allowing a single interpretation of the rules to completely reshape what people can share.
The funny part?
I wasn’t advertising anything in those posts. I wasn’t posting prices or asking anyone to buy anything. I was simply sharing my original paintings because I enjoy discussing art with strangers from around the world.
Anyway…
Here’s the painting that apparently caused all the trouble. 🎨
Rewatched Leg's Vampires SMP episode 5
The uncle figure ever.
Telling Drift "Take what you need." As he turns around to give her privacy in her first vampiric feeding. "You were scared, and you came and got me. Do you understand?" Immediately gave her an alibi before she even thought to do so. No hesitation to help hide her.
Even before the revelation circle, trying to take the heat off of Apo in the militia meeting room. "How does this look for me, keeping your secret from the militia?" "The same it looks for me."
No hesitation. No judgement, just a shield whenever they needed it. The shield a younger Doc must have needed.
i’d love the opportunity to fumble you catastrophically

A/N: Heyo! So, unexpected inspiration struck from this post by @grithogirl and got me writing What Morcant Did while waiting for Abolish to return, from the POV of the locals :) I wrote most of this on my commute to & from work, so this is fairly short, and plenty silly.

The King's Arms was an inn which didn't see much in the way of wayfaring patronage.
Oh, there was nothing inherently wrong with the village. It was simply that 'nothing inherently wrong' extended into 'nothing at all'. There was no through road to necessitate a rest stop, and no festivals to draw in a tourist trade, nor historical repute to attract the academic kind.
All it possessed were fields carved out of the forest, and that damn cursed village to the west.
And so, travellers who found the village were usually very lost, or just realising how lost they were, and went back the way they'd came as soon as the innkeeper marked them on a map.
Nobody stayed at the King's Arms.
"He's been here a week now," said the butcher.

Dash doing a thing.
Every time I see that last pic, I have to note that the funniest line is the one immediately after the highlight
"you're going to break soon, whumpee, i can tell." whumper swipes a strand of hair out of their face, "it's okay. you can do it. it'll be easier if you do."
Writing Prompt: Dialogue
“Well… could’ve been worse,”
“How so?”
“You could’ve actually shot me.”
“Would be a waste of a bullet,”
“Gee, thanks.”
“And, I guess, your face wouldn’t be as nice to look at if it had a bullet hole in it.”
“…That’s… not the compliment you think it is.”
“It’s all you’re gonna get.”

yes yes ideally you’ll do multiple, but if you have to choose one.
Currently really into the ship dynamic of like. Fucking nasty would be less filthy and more normal and less intimate and intense and way less disturbing to walk in on/witness than Whatever The Fuck Is Going On There.
Every mythical creature has a natural counterpart meant to balance them out. Elves and dwarves, werewolves and vampires, etc. Humans have just discovered they too have a counterpart.
“Thank you for calling the Intergalatic Emergency hotline. Unfortunately, our tracer shows your location is in Florida, Earth, where we have no jurisdiction. Please solve any problem with large rocks and fire. Good luck!”
My favourite Adrian headcanon is that they're a biologist/zoologist who has seen so much shit, they're completely unphased by any and every alien habit of Grace's.
I mean full-on khaki-shorts-wearing, traversing-wilderness-with-nothin'-but-a-machete Adrian who yoinks snakes outta trees and pets swamp puppies and will unflinchingly dig around in elephant faeces for signs of a rare parasitic tapeworm if needed.
Oh, humans eat socially? No problem, Adrian has observed many many animals eat. Did you know that an obscure species of small underground dirt creature from the north side of Erid also eats socially? Adrian can give you a not-so-short presentation on them.
Oh, the human has no external carapace and so its internal sounds are absurdly loud, wet and off-putting? No problem, Adrian was just conducting an expedition last month researching the incredible eridian animal, the Wet Loud Worm from the south-east region of Wet Loud Wormland. They're desensitised, it's fine.
Oh, Grace leaks often from many orifices and it can be a bit of a learning curve to get used to? No problem for Adrian, see Wet Loud Worm paragraph again!
Meanwhile, Rocky is bewildered as to how he's managed to third-wheel both of his relationships, because both Adrian and Grace are nerds who nerd out about things, and Adrian is shaking in their carapace with enthusiasm to learn more about human culture and biology, not to mention everything about earth animals. And yeah, sure, Grace might be a molecular biologist, but he'll be damned if he'll pass up an opportunity to learn about alien fauna from a fellow scientist, and yes, Adrian, he'd love to hear about the small underground dirt creature from the north side of Erid, and he's so excited to learn more about the Wet Loud Worm, do go on.
#zoologist adrian would be absolutely captivated by the concept of Plants. erid doesn't have those#you mean your atmosphere is so clear your entire planet has ground level sunlight and there's an entire subsection of life#defined by their ability to turn it into energy... because the rest of it DOESN'T? sure you synthetize vitamin d out of it#but that's nothing#saviour grace why don't you photosynthesize question? skill issue question?
