thinking about kiivva (my vestige) and isobel veloise again. how they met when kiivva was just barely starting to come out of the lowest point in her life. the fact that they'd met through sadryn, kiivva's childhood best friend and closest companion, who she thought the world of. this cheerful, chivalrous, righteous knight who seemed so willing to befriend someone who'd clearly been dragged through the mud when kiivva had nobody else. yeah isobel was placed up on a pedestal the moment they met.

kiivva's just come back from the dead. she already sees being sent to coldharbour as divine punishment for falling in with (in other words, being groomed into) the dark brotherhood during her rock bottom. she has no one else in her life and she's sorely missed her best friend's companionship and understanding. hell no she's not gonna tell the truth about where she's been all these years and lose sadryn again. at this point isobel's collateral damage in the lie, but kiivva has no idea yet just how much she'll regret hurting her, because isobel soon becomes the driving force behind her desire to change. her kindness, her loyalty, her sense of honor...she embodies everything kiivva wants to be. gods above, she makes her happy.

by the time she finally slips up, kiivva's been hiding her past for months. the friendship and budding romance she's built with isobel comes crumbling down. isobel with her strong moral code is hurt and pissed. what else has kiivva been lying about? is someone from the brotherhood going to come after them? how can she reconcile the image of the girl she knows with the ruthless assassin she used to be? but isobel is a devotee of stendarr, and if stendarr commands mercy and justice...well, kiivva has changed since those days. she's saved more lives than she's taken by this point, and isobel will continue to help her save lives. she'll help kiivva become a better person. she just doesn't have to like it (yet).

kiivva is furious with herself that the person she holds in such high regards is upset with her, and damn it, she's not going to be forgiven just because some priest in a breton temple says it's the right thing to do, she's going to EARN that forgiveness a hundred times over. if there's one thing that girl takes seriously, it's atoning for her own mistakes.

if that means dying for the girl she loves, so be it. but right now, she's going to live for her.

some stuff i made to prepare for artfight. 1. baby nightstep with his mama <3 2. redid silverspark my beloved and finally made a ref for her ugly friend stormshadow (love him too tho). these guys are part of a warrior cats au i made of my elder scrolls ocs. in particular nightstep is my dragonborn and silverspark is my vestige! working on getting pics of their humanoid counterparts up on their profiles too.
