I am still stunned that we are having this conversation about Catherine. You know, one of those moments when you aks yourself is this really happening and you answer yes and the you wonder how the fuck can it be true when 10 seconds earlier things were a little off but about to be fine again.
I am not stunned by the overwhelming amount of love she is getting, nor by the sugarâs still wild hatred.
I naively thought that H&M were going to keep her nickname out of their damn mouths, but of course they didnt and leaked to Ship too and now I am stunned again that we are back to pressuring WK into a reconciliation.
I understand you perfectly. Vanessa (@cambridgemadness) seems to be the one who always gives me the shocking news about the royals. Like in 2022 when she messaged me to tell me something was happening with the queen, she messaged me yesterday telling me to call her. And my response was: ay no, what's happened now?
She told me there were rumours that the palace would announce something at 6. While I was on the phone, a TMZ article came out saying it would be a video of Catherine, and I remember we said: I don't think it's something bad, I don't think she'd make a video to announce something bad. So we started talking about what it could be. Then she sent me a screenshot of someone on Twitter saying Catherine had been diagnosed with cancer. We didn't believe it. We said it wasn't possible. That it couldn't be because, among other things, Catherine wouldn't make a video to announce that. It would be too personal and painful, and it wasn't her style. But after an hour on the phone, an RR told me something was coming. That we should be prepared. And we, still on the phone, were still in denial. It's not cancer, it can't be cancer.
And then the palace released the video. And I remember clearly when Vane said to me: ay no Isa, it is cancer. And then silence. We didn't say anything. I went cold and my hands were trembling. Then we watched the video and I think for a few more minutes we were still in denial. We kept saying it wasn't possible. She couldn't have cancer.
I think it took us a while to digest and truly understand the news. We could only say 'ay Isa' and 'ay Vane'. After that, everything made more sense. And the reality of the last few days on social media became more bitter. I still can't wrap my head around the fact that she is receiving chemotherapy. I still cant wrap my head around the fact that this is real.
I am also not surprised by the support and love she has received since yesterday, but I am extremely angry that she has not been given all that love and support since January. Her team made it clear that she was asking for respect and space at this time, and much of the world did not give it to her. Nor am I surprised by the attitude Harry and Meghan's fans continue to maintain; I never expected anything different from them. You can't change the rot in their hearts.
Regarding your last paragraph, Harry and Meghan couldn't read the room even if they had a teleprompter in front of them.
