There's something so hilariously pathetic about Bandai executives trying to claim that Sulemio is "open to interpretation" when it's literally, unambiguously canon in the text of the show. Eri calls Miorine her sister in law. The girls are wearing wedding rings in the final scene. Even with no kiss or "I love you," this has passed beyond the realm of subtext and into undeniable reality. And they're still trying to go all "Oh, it's up to you" while the cast is constantly gushing over how married they are and Okouchi is liking fanart of them kissing every other second.

Let this be a reminder to us all: every single goddamn scrap of representation we get in media has been fought for tooth and nail by brave creators and artists pushing against the boundaries of what their corporate overlords are willing to let them get away with. From the canon to the subtextual, from Symphogear to Lycoris Recoil, queer love in anime is a revolution we are still fighting years after Utena coined the idea. Celebrate what we've got, but never, never, never stop fighting for better. And never forget to target your anger at those who are truly responsible.

Anyway, no matter what those cowards say, Suletta and Miorine are married, and there is no ambiguity about it. No way in fuck we let their cowardice take that away from us.
