Earliest Gaming Memories
My earliest memory of roleplaying would be at about age 7, playing interactively in fantasy scenarios with my best friend.
My first memory of video gaming is around 5, playing Pong with my mom.
My first memory of tabletop roleplaying is with my now-husband when I was 16 and he was 15. He was introducing me to Vampire: the Masquerade.

An Apology I Didn't Know I Needed
While I've played The Wedding by Chillstudios this week, I've encountered a lot that I expected when I backed it, but I've also run into some things I really didn't expect. Chief among them is getting an apology from someone who hurt the main character.
It isn't just that I wasn't expecting an apology or one that sounded pretty good - specific, direct, and apparently genuine - but that I wasn't expecting how I emotionally reacted to it. Because I thought I had given up expecting or wanting apologies from anyone in the past who'd hurt me, but I guess part of me hasn't entirely.
Even though it's fiction and even though I don't tend to insert myself into visual novel main characters very much, the apology felt good. Nourishing.
I felt it. I felt it. Now I get to sit with that, and I'm not even mad. This is part of the magic of reading and stories, and I am always here for it.
