i wonder how tf perimedes survives then w the lotuss
Oooh so basically if a person is prevented from eating the lotuses the parasite will die since the lotuses have immunosuppressant qualities and after cessation of consumption the immune system will attack the parasite.
However depending on how much of the brain has been infected, the detoxing process can be very dangerous and can lead to death from meningitis and encephalitis but theoretically they can make a full recovery
But if the detoxing begins early in the lotus eater infection the symptoms would be milder since it takes them weeks to fully implant their neural bud
Here be the design doodles for Aeolus and the winions (though i have no plans for doing Keep Your Friends Close) The winions are inspired by dandelion seeds and pollen, they just sorta float about on wind currents and use their tails as paddles also im not sure whether they count as insects or mammals! I thought it might be high fashion if aeolus is literally the wind since i think them not having a corporeal form makes them more elusive and difficult to clock what their intentions are, they're mainly inspired by the ghost of christmas past which is also ambiguous in appearance Also idk about Odysseus but I wouldn’t trust nobody with no body even if I was Nobody
Something quite random! I just randomly had an idea for the Lotus Eaters so here are my badly written diagrams!!! We have these insects where i live that are super cute and look like green triangles called Green Planthoppers (me calling any bug cute is anomalous since im scared of all bugs except these dudes) and i was like what if the lotus eaters are cute bugs that are actually a parasitic hive mind but PRETTY
i don't think polites should trust the skinny people offering him drugs and speaking in unison
Does Elpenor still have freckles or are they removed?
He still has them i was just too lazy to draw them
So sorry if you've been asked this before, but what other Epic animatics are you thinking of doing?
Lowkey would kill to see Open Arms-
Rn in no particular order:
Suffering, Survive, Done For, Puppeteer, Horse and the Infant and Odysseus
Maybe pile: Love in Paradise, Charybidis and Thunder Bringer
I fw the fact that you ship EuryPoli, can never get enough of these goobers
Lemming man x Paranoid goth gf fr
Kisu i am obsessed with your perimedes having his hair down
HE'S FLIPPIN GORGEOUS
ahaha im glad u think so tho tbh i put all my effort into making elpenor look glamour that i half assed perimedes
might seem kinda weird to ask this out of the blue, but, what pronouns do you use? Because I've been trying to talk about unto my friends and I tend to resort to she/her bc of your yt pfp being Mirko buti don't know if you go by those, so yeah..
my pronouns are she/her :)
What if you wanted to be KING but your niece and nephews were BASTARDS and your brother was GAY and STUPID and everyone HATED you and you couldn’t find a DENTIST for your teeth you ground down and a PRIESTESS told you to kill your DAUGHTER and a CLOWN was there
stannis calling davos “my knight of the fish and onions”
sometimes pookie is a balding acespec middle child autistic man in his 30s straddling a savior complex being fanned into a fanatical flame by a monochromatic woman appealing to his sense of order and law in the universe and a deep-seated sense of inferiority which he only dares to barely share with a single man, the only man whom he trusts, but who he cannot call a friend because he cannot undermine the notions of social station and rank that make true association with a lowborn noble of his own creation impossible
GRRM was so funny for (unintentionally) writing Robert and Stannis having these intense homoerotic situationships with Ned and Davos and then making RENLY the canonically gay brother. It kinda makes it looks like he was the only one brave enough to act on his feelings and actually get with his bestie
If Eurylochus had died instead of Polites, do you think their journey would have been easier? I see a lot of people say this but I don't get it because I think Odysseus would have still behaved the same
I think it's tricky to say since we don't know that much about Polites personality compared to Eurylochus since Polites dies so early in the musical.
I think there's an assumption that Polites goes along with everything Ody says which is not true, Open arms is proof of that since Polites continues to engage with the Lotus Eaters despite Ody's obvious distrust of them (if he truly was totally agreeable he would have just left with Ody after discovering the nature of the lotus and they wouldn't have gone to Polyphemus's cave). So Polites is defiant of Ody just as Eurylochus is but in a different way, being risk taking and trustful of others whereas Eurylochus is skeptical and risk averse.
If eurylochus died instead of Polites i think Ody would have still doxed himself, so the main diverging routes is whether or not Polites would have opened the wind bag which i can't say for sure. I'm of two minds whether Eurylochus opened the windbag himself or took responsibility for what the crew did since he is their advocate, if he did open it himself i would say it would most likely be because of fear rather than greed.
The reason i think this is because i came to the realization that Eurylochus is always at the short end of the stick when it comes to decision making. Eurylochus is skeptical of being diplomatic in regards to the inhabitants of Lotus Island and is proven correct when the generosity is actually malicious (Compare "I say we strike first" vs "I have to hand it to you both"), this skepticism carries over to the floating island with Eurylochus being understandably apprehensive at trusting another stranger after what happened with Polyphemus and i think that's why he opens the wind bag which for all he knows could be a magical nuke, but he's proven horrifically wrong.
Possibly because he was so horrifically wrong, he trues to emulate Ody's open arms approach but is again on the short end of the stick because Circe is exactly what he feared, a seemingly trustworthy stranger who's intentions are malicious. Also since he doesn't know that Hermes ex machina is going to happen, he is obviously doubtful at Ody's ability to convince Circe since Ody failed the dialogue tree with both Polyphemus and Poseidon.
Then he sees how Ody's bravery saved the men from Circe and she actually helps them which i think gives Eurylochus the motivation to be like Ody. However this is destroyed when Ody sacrifices the men to Scylla and doesn't warn them what they're about to face (eurylochus nevers says scylla only this monster and ody from what we know is the only one reading lips) but i believe Eurylochus still carries that admiration for ody's bravery which is why he chooses to mutiny, also i think the most likely eating of the sirens is analogous to eating the cows, both a sacrilege since id say eating sirens is similar to cannibalism but one has consequences and the other doesn't.
That's an extremely long way of saying idk how Polites would react post Polyphemus but since we know he is defiant maybe he would have similar decisions to Eurylochus, maybe he would become jaded and disillusioned since it was his decision to continue talking with the Lotus Eaters that lead to the encounter with Polyphemus.
So tldr i don't think the journey would have been easier since Ody's doxxing of himself is really what caused the drama, maybe it would have taken Poseidon longer to find them if the windbag hadn't been opened but to me the storm shows that he already knew where they were and the windbag only contained it, also this depends on how Poseidon would have dealt with the fleet since i like the idea of him getting the Laestrogynians to smush the fleet and im not super clear on whether Poseidon is totally powerless when the windbag is containing a storm since he didn't seem affected by it in Get in the Water

Highkey love the idea of ares being Penelope’s patron god but like Athena with ody, he gets frustrated by Penelope’s ways
Ares: today I will teach u how to crush ur enemies and hear the lamentations of their women.
Penelope: I crocheted the entire of Crete’s plumbing system :)
Ares: I don’t care if ur neurondivergent I need u to go to war >:( the only crocheting will be with their innards as you pillage and defile… wait the whole of Crete’s plumbing system?
Penelope:
Scylla animatic is DONNNNEEE!!!
Odysseus really sacrificed 6 divas when the diva levels are dangerously low smh
