Thinking about ody and baby Telemachus having a lil snooze outside when ody startles cuz a snake has gotten very close to telemachus. So he’s sweating bullets trying to figure out whether to reach for a knife or snatch baby Telemachus before the snake can strike because his baby boy is not Hercules, when suddenly Penelope is like gotcha and safely restrains the snake. She’s like omg ody look a horned viper with melanism do you know how rare this pretty lady is?!

She’s disappointed that she doesn’t have anything to measure it with and is like brb I’m going to put this gurl somewhere safe.

Meanwhile ody is just :0 while holding baby Telemachus who shoves his chubby fist into his dad’s mouth to break his trance

Thinking about Penelope being the goofy parent (since in this house we believe all genders can be silly). I’m just picturing her pranking ody while he’s in a boring meeting or something, having drawn big ass eyebrows on baby telemachus so ody is trying and failing not to laugh as Telemachus looks at him like >:D, like he’s on the verge of tears and keeps wheezing when trying to talk.

Also I’m a firm believer that Penelope took it upon herself to be both mom and dad, so she taught Telemachus how to shave and other stereotypical dad things

Thinking about Scott having Focal impaired awareness seizures (which occur occur on one side of the brain) due to his brain injury not only affecting his mutation but contributing to epilepsy. Unlike tonic clonic seizures (the ones where people jerk and seize up) focal seizures can be hard to notice and can often come across as the person daydreaming or being drunk.

When Logan first meets Scott he just thinks he’s being an asshole when while Logan’s having a conversation with him, Scott stops talking and stares at Logan for 3 minutes which irritates Logan so he shoves him away and storms off, leaving Scott confused as to why Logan just disappeared mid convo and why he’s on the floor in a panic.

Scott was only diagnosed with epilepsy when he came to live with Xavier was immediately able to clock on when he was having a seizure hwat with being a telepath.

When he was living at the orphanage, the staff just assumed he was inattentive and stupid because he’d seem to daydreaming and would sometimes seem confused when asked a question and answering with slurred gibberish, so he’d often get detention.

the other kids thought he was a weirdo because he’d start picking at his clothes and wandering around aimlessly.

Thankfully after coming to live with Xavier he was finally medicated and what Logan thinks is him being a health freak with his keto diet is actually to help manage his epilepsy. So the incidences are significantly reduced compared to when he was a kid though they are still triggered when he’s stressed or hasn’t slept which Scott being Scott is more often than not

Jean ofc was always able to tell when he was about to have a seizure and often calms him down telepathically when he becomes panicked or confused because it’s not a good idea to restrain or touch him during a seizure having nearly broke his hand when he lashed out against jack winters who thought it was a good idea to manhandle him when he took to long to answer a question, fortunately for jack he turned into his diamond form but Scott still broke his nose

Scott is reticent about telling Logan about his epilepsy because he feels he gets enough judgemental nonsense from him (Jean is like are u serious)

Logan finds out anyway when they’re on a mission together that ends with them being taken captive, their gear being taken away meaning Scott doesn’t have access to his medication. The stressful situation leads to Logan assuming Scott is going crazy when he starts wandering around the cell and trying to take his clothes off including his visor! Logan also notices that Scott’s scent starts to change like it sometimes does before Jean or hank start asking Scott if he’s alright

It doesn’t occur to Logan what might be going on until Scott falls to the floor and starts having a ‘classic seizure’ (in severe cases a partial seizure can spread to a generalised seizure affecting both parts of the brain). Logan’s immensely grateful hank forced him to do the mandatory first aid course because his first instinct was to pin Scott down to get him to stop, when Scott comes to he’s exhausted and just replies never had one of those before.

After Logan has unofficially included himself in the Scott summers seizure watch much to Scott’s chagrin because he’s fine now and Jean keeps giving him an I told you you should have told him look but secretly he thinks it’s kind of sweet

Genuinely ponderating whether ody should give Eurylochus a kiss on the cheek before saying light up 6 torches.

Apparently it was common for men to kiss each other in greeting and a kiss on the cheek was done between men of similar social standings (apparently kisses on the lips was done in greeting for men of equal standing but that might be too much)

Cw: discussion of sensual situations

Since it’s only the homies around the crew are having relations with each other constantly to the point that it’s nigh impossible to walk to a somewhat private part of the ship and to not find some of them engaged in activities.

Eurylochus tolerates it since it keeps morale up and a lot of the crew are gay but after the fifth time in a week that Eurylochus has walked in on a couple (maybe the excuse was they were trying to find a lost earring and Eurylochus is like sure thing Jan 🙄) enough is enough.

Eurylochus has to have the most painfully awkward group chat where he’s like no shenanigans while on duty, put a sign on the cargo bay entry because you might want to see it but I don’t, keep it sensible and the noise down because we need to respect that other people are on the ship, no using supplies in your activities and keep it safe because we don’t need anyone getting injured. Now if anyone has an questions about safe activities you can ask me or a higher ranking officer, not the captain since he doesn’t know of these things, and we can give you advice

Odysseus having the world’s weakest gaydar commends Eurylochus’s firm stance on uninhibited roughhousing amongst the crew

Some miscellaneous ideas I had for future animatics:

Scylla (definitely going to make an animatic):

- after Eurylochus’s line of “I’m so sorry”, ody hugs him which leaves Eurylochus really confused but he reciprocates the hug, ody is crying. Ody let’s go and quickly turns away, wiping his eyes and tells him to light up six torches

- during the end bit, Eurylochus is taking in the horrors before collapsing to his knees. Perimedes is being aggressive when he’s told that the crew member he saved (the one that gets his legs eaten) has died. Maybe he tries to punch the crew member who’s trying to get him to leave the body but he is restrained and bursts into tears ( I’m thinking perimedes could be the guy we see in the opening of the mutiny animatic who’s curled up on the floor being comforted by the crew member with the man bun)

-scurvy boi and beefcake help Eurylochus’s special boy moment by tying ropes around Scylla while she’s distracted, maybe as she’s dragged off scurvy boi is hit by her and injures his back (which isn’t too bad at first but bad when he gets scurvy) maybe a possible kiss of relief from beefcake if there’s time

Thunderbringer (possibly gonna make an animatic):

- mainly a character design change but Zeus has metal teeth and electrode like piercings to channel his power. He’s like 10 feet tall but he is actually on the ship up close and personal, maybe he shows disgust at the pitiful state of the crew

-Eurylochus immediately jumps into action when ody makes his decision, trying to save his boys by throwing benches into the sea so they can escape and helping to carry the sickest members out of the cargo hold. Zeus electrocutes the water and sets the ship on fire but an effort is made

-I think scurvy boi and boyfriend need to die together, maybe as beefcake dies shielding him and scurvy boi summons the last of his strength to hold onto him. Maybe Zeus steps on his hand as he walks past, finding his state to be disgusting but scurvy boi holds on

-Zeus personally kills Eurylochus by grabbing him by the throat and holding him up as a lightning strike comes from the sky, maybe ody tries to stop him but Zeus slaps him away. Then he throws Eurylochus’s burnt, twitching body at ody. Despite badly burning himself, ody cradles Eurylochus before he’s whisked away.

-this could either be at the end or it’s own animatic idk, also might be ooc for Hermes. Anyways afterwards Hermes rocks up to collect the souls of the crew and takes in the carnage, he hears a noise and discovers that one of the crew is still alive (probably shoe guy) but dying slowly, since he can’t intervene he decides to at least offer comfort and so he holds the crew member’s hand as he passes away

Now i'm not usually one to be drinking the haterade but every new image i see from the Odyssey movie has me coming to the conclusion that Christopher Nolan is the sad beige baby mom of filmmaking. Like im not concerned about historical accuracy but why is it so bland to look at, like what did colours do to you?!

Also i don't trust him to give any of the female characters the complexity they deserve. My prediction is they're going to be satellites orbiting Odysseus rather than fully realized characters
