A very happily done commission! Took me a couple more days than I’d have liked since my wrist + doctors appointments + XIV raid but the very first commission I’ve made is here! @kit-arkades asked for this last week. Her character is the Kitsune on the right named Kit and she also wanted it with X’lantah :  @xlantahkett (Forgive me if i tagged the wrong person.) They’re super cute and this was super fun to do! Its also my first two person where they’re interacting and I enjoyed it.

Friday 9 November. Sanguine Shadow. Lavender Beds.

Kit’s Nameday. @xlantahkett had a surprise nameday party 🎉. Did not see it coming at all. Was such a fun night. So many great people in attendance. The venue was fantastic. Dancing. Good food. Good friends. Good memories.

Thank everyone who came and spent a little time to make this special.

Of Flowers and Foxes.

Kit walked into the flower shop. As she entered the huge pink doorway, there just to the right was her assistant, Cassandra. The Raen woman wore a pained smile upon her face as she greeted her employer. “They only broke three vases this time. I think I can save the flowers,” the blonde said to Kit. Kit made a pained face. This was the third strong arm in a week. Kit paid her protection fees from the Limsan Yellow Jacket strong arms. However, she was getting wise to the fact these crooked cops were working alone and not for some larger operation. The Kitsune had spent many a day waiting for one functionary or another to meet with her about the strong arming going on.

Kit sighed, dropping her bag behind the counter and pitched in to help clean up the mess. Customers and patrons would still file in the shop to pick up the latest flowers. The flower peddler was glad that she found a supplier that would sell her vases in bulk. Not only was it a nice service to provide to customers to give a vase on special occasions but it helped to replace the ones destroyed when the corrupt Yellow Jackets came to visit.

There really was no time to worry about all of that silliness. The next shipment was coming up. The mysterious man with the hooded cowl paid handsomely. It more than paid for the protection fee and allowed Kit to purchase the best soil for her plants. The weekly shipment was black dahlias packaged in mauve flower boxes. Wrapped in the greenery, ribbons, and angel’s breath were aether crystals. The crystals were usually housed in a velvet purse to conceal their true identity but Kit could feel their pull and power. Kit knew she was helping smuggle them out of the city, but the money was good.

That good money went to help many things in Kit’s life. It paid for the extra staff she was able to employ. It paid for the property on which the shop sat, it paid for the protection fees associated with it. It allowed the fox the ability to grow flowers just for the express intent of handing them out to strangers to brighten their day, her true joy in life.

The black flower petals were hard to produce, where at best one in four would turn out black when they bloomed. Kit went downstairs, to the solarium attached to the back of the property. Sunlight poured in from all angles, bathing her beloved flowers in sunlight There Kit tended her that which she loves. Plants are watered, pomace is sprinkled with meticulous care. Orders must be filled, flowers must grow. New orders to ship black roses have to be setup, from someone cherished, someone loved.
