I kept seeing that palette meme going around, but wasn’t particularly fond of all the super-high-saturation or low-value ranges. For anyone that wants to try something a little different, here you go.

So I’ve got this Webcomic: Charaktermaske

Q. What’s it about?

Charaktermaske is about a lot of things, but what’s happened so far is an experimental device exploded, killed a lot of people, and gave four people superpowers.

Q. Who are the characters?

Kitiara LaVerne: Kiti starts off looking for a bit of direction in life. She’s mostly focusing on living and figuring herself out. She works as a clerk at a chemist’s place, makes friends easily, and loves magical girl cartoons. Pretty much the protagonist. She can control water, and her crime/monster-fighting superhero personality becomes known as the Queen of Clubs.

Eldred Favian: Favian has a pretty shitty time in this comic. Oh well. A very intelligent 14 year old who was at the center of the explosion whilst being drained by a magic spell, with misery making results. He can control fire, and his alter-ego is known as the Ace of Diamonds.

Dreidi Xian: Dreidi just broke up with most of his friends and is putting his life back together. He works as a nurse at an old folks home and accidentally adopted Favian. Dreidi can control fire, and his alter-ego is known as the King of Hearts.

Lori Othello: Adopted Canadian. Works coding freelance for various companies. She’s very gay and very bad at it. Lori can control electricity, metal, and electrical things obey her every command. Her alterego is known as the Jack of Spades.

Other cast members include: Ariadne Sen, their mysterious benefactor and the CEO of Sen*Co, "The Boys" (Darren and Simon Gould, Alphaeus Fisk), a group of mysterious men with ties to Sen’s past, Kitiara’s roommate Nina, Dreidi’s hopeless crush Hana and her fiance Kevin, and many, many more.

Q. Where’s it set?

Avista! A city that got exploded, filled with magitech, and then severed from the US government. Seems like it’ll go well.

Q. When’s it set?

Now! Two years ago. 2012 in that continuum, which is wibbly wobbly to our time.

Q. When does it update?

Mondays and Fridays.

Q. Why should I read it?

adeadlemonliving says “As a form of superhero fiction it’s experimental in the way it develops its characters and its plot and also uses different narrative choices in order to explore the city and the universe. From an artistic standpoint has a unique artistic style which is very enjoyable. It does have a really unique style.”

But that’s my sister so take it with a grain of salt.
