A little early but happy pride month
Pretty sure I just scared people at work 😱😱😱
The only architect that came to mind was Lorelei 😂😂😂 can you tell I’m obsessed?
You know, as much as I miss Lorelei’s route, I am glad they didn’t end it with a proposal. That definitely would have been rushing it, especially with how their relationship was a slow burn one. I’m glad they had, however, had Lorelei tell MC that she loves her. It made a lot more sense. And besides, maybe, if everything goes correctly, we’ll get Lorelei’s route back and we’ll be able to live in that house of theirs and watch their relationship progress further.
Went back through Lorelei’s Season 2 and got to this! How it was so difficult to choose just one when all three were true!!
A wedding?!👀 But who could the bride be?!💘
That one is Mac and MC!! No doubt at all!!
Meeting My Parents
Lorelei and I were waiting at home, expecting a call from my parents. She was pacing back and forth, obviously nervous. I wrapped my arms around her waist, “Lorelei, it will be alright.”
“I’m sorry,” she said, relaxing in my arms, “I’ve never actually had to meet the parents before so I don’t know what to expect.” She wrapped her arms around me and held me close.
“You’re telling me that you can run into Optimus, head strong and destroy their property but you can’t sit through a video call with my parents?” I asked teasingly.
She playfully bit my shoulder, not hurting me, causing me to giggle, “ That’s not the same thing and you know it. I just...” she paused as she gathered her thoughts, “I just want to make a good impression on them. I know quite a few people have a problem with age, and I am eleven years older than you.”
“Lorelei, if my parents have a problem with that then they are hypocrites. My dad is about 10 years older than my mom. Trust me, they will love you,” I said, laying my head on her chest, listening to her heartbeat.
“The same way you do?” she asked, laying her head on top of mine.
I smirked, “I hope not. I don’t need competition from my parents when it comes to my girlfriend.”
Lorelei snorted, “That’s not what I meant and you know it.”
I giggled and looked up at her, “In all honesty they might love you more than they do me.” I guided her to the bed and pushed her playfully so she fell on her back.
She scooted up on to the bed and laid down on her back when I started crawling up her body, “I doubt that.” She pulled me down into a kiss.
Just then my phone had started ringing. I reached over, attempting to decline the call so I could continue making out with Lorelei, but accidentally ended up accepting the call.
“MC-holy!” My dad yelled as he turned away, his face blushing.
We broke apart, both blushing. “D-Dad!” I stuttered.
In the background we heard my mom laughing, “What? Did you catch her making out with her girlfriend?”
“Yes!” My dad yelled.
My mom grabbed the phone, smirking, “Hello dear.”
Lorelei and I sat up, our cheeks flushed red. “Hi Mom,” I said, grabbing the phone.
“Oh don’t be so flustered honey. Your grandfather used to catch your father and I making out all the time. We all crave that intimate contact from our loved one. Nothing to be ashamed of,” she said, “now, who’s the lovely lady with you? We’ve been dying to meet her and you’ve only told us bits and pieces about her.” My dad finally returned to the screen, looking at me.
I turned the phone to show Lorelei sitting beside me, her blush gone, “This is Lorelei. We’ve been together for a few months now. Well, officially for maybe three.”
Lorelei smiles and gave a slight wave, “Hello. I’m Lorelei. It’s nice to meet you.”
My dad’s eyes zeroed in on Lorelei while we talked. My mom started talking again, “Likewise! We actually called a bit early to tell you that we are going to be coming to San Francisco today. If you two aren’t doing anything, we would love to meet up with you and meet you face to face.”
I turned to Lorelei, “What do you think?”
She smiled at me then at my mom, “I’d like that. MC tells me so much about you two. I would be honored if you would meet with us.”
My mom looked at me, grinning, “I like her already. So polite.”
Since seeing Lorelei, my dad hadn’t said anything. He merely kept looking at her. “Dad?” I asked.
He snapped out of it then looked at me, before turning his sights back to Lorelei, “Yes, we would love it if you met with us.”
“O-okay. Um...where would you like to meet?”
“Let’s see...it will take us about an hour to get there. How about Deloris Park? That’s within walking distance of a lot of food and shopping places right?” My mom asked.
“Yes it is. We can do that.”
“Alright, well we are going to get off the phone and we will text when we get into San Francisco, that way it will give you two plenty of time to get there.”
“Alright. We’ll see you in a while then. Love you Mom. Love you Dad. Be careful on your way here,” I said.
“We will,” they said.
“And, if I could make a suggestion,” Lorelei interrupted, “instead of going down the main streets of San Francisco, you can cut down Park Avenue to bypass all the heavy traffic and there is a parking lot where you can park your vehicle as well.”
“Oh! You know the park well I presume?” My mom asked.
Lorelei nodded, “It’s my favorite park.”
“Alright then, well we are going to get ready. We’ll see you two in a little while.”
Once I hung up the phone, Lorelei looked at me, confused, “Why was your father looking at me like that?”
“I’m not sure. Maybe thinks you look familiar. He does that from time to time. I’m sure it’s nothing to worry about.”
She looked down at her hands, thinking, “We still haven’t properly dealt with Scarlet. I...I don’t want something to happen while we are out. Most likely she wouldn’t do anything because it’s in public, but still, she’s never been afraid of hurting anyone to get what she wants.”
I crawled over and sat on Lorelei’s lap, nearly straddling her, “Hey, if something does happen, then I will do everything in my power to protect you and my parents.”
Lorelei smiled and kissed my nose, “And I’ll protect you. Besides, someone has to make sure you don’t get yourself caught.”
I grinned and wrapped my arms around her neck, “Big talk for the one that nearly fell over when I rushed into her arms.”
“Rushed? You practically tackled me!” she laughed.
“I plead the fifth. You are supposed to be the unmovable Stone Badger.”
Lorelei growled playfully then rolled us over and pinned me down, “I’ll show you unmovable.” The hematite bracelets locked themselves together and pinned my wrists to the bed as she blew a raspberry on the sensitive spot on my neck.
I squealed, “Lorelei!” I started jerking away from her as she started ruthlessly tickling my sides.
Lorelei’s laugh echoed as she continually tortured me. She tickled me until I was nearly in tears from laughing so hard, “You’ll regret this, Linden!”
She merely smirked at me, “I can take anything you dish out!”
I used my powers, flipping us back over, pinning her wrists up above her head. I grinned when she lost her concentration and my wrists were set free. I gave her a mischievous smirk, “I’m really loving this view.”
“This is so not fair!” she said, playfully struggling against my hold on her.
“Now it’s payback time, Linden.”
Lorelei smirked back up to me, “Do your worst.”
For the next half hour, we spent our time trying to get the upper hand on each other only to fall victim to the tickle war that ensued.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
After straightening up from the war we had, Lorelei and I waited at the park on our normal park bench. It was a beautiful day out. I leaned against Lorelei, my head on her shoulder as we looked out in the distance, “Its so comfortable out today.”
She smiled and took a deep breath, “It is.”
After a few minutes, I saw my parents walking up. “Mom! Dad! Over here!” I yelled to them, waving my hand at them.
Seeing me, they jogged the rest of the way over to us. My mom hugged me immediately. When I turned to look at my dad, he was frozen a few steps away. “Honey?” My mom asked.
He slowly approached Lorelei and spoke slowly, his voice wavering a bit, “You are Lorelei Linden...right? The super heroine that used to work for Optimus?”
Lorelei took a deep breath, getting ready for the worst, then nodded, “Yes sir. That is me.”
Almost right after she confirmed it, my dad wrapped her in a tight hug. A second later he pulled back, embarrassed, “Oh my god! I can’t believe it’s really you! I’m so sorry about that, I’m just...I’m your biggest fan!”
I looked at my mom, “Wait, you guys were fans of Lorelei’s?”
“Well, your father was a die-hard fan of hers, but yes we both adored Lorelei. We’d honestly not heard anything since she disappeared from Optimus. We assumed something tragic had happened because she wasn’t heard from again.”
Lorelei looked from my parents, to me, then back to my parents, “I had left Optimus about 10 years ago. They had been hunting me down ever since I left. They lost my trail about 5 years ago, thanks to the help of a tech friend of mine. They started coming after me again about 2 years ago. They couldn’t pinpoint my exact location but they knew I had work in the area. I made myself pretty well-known as an architect so Optimus couldn’t do anything to me without it raising suspicion.”
“We always wondered why you had vanished.”
“Optimus wasn’t the humanitarian company that I thought it was. I saw so much destruction and when I saw that no one cared I left immediately.”
“I knew something was fishy with that company,” my dad said. He looked at me, “Please tell me you have found somewhere else to work. If Optimus is as bad as she says it is, then you need to get out of there.”
Lorelei looked at him, shocked, “You believe me?”
“Of course, why wouldn’t I?” He asked.
My mother looked at her, “A long time ago we saw you out in public all the time. When we did, we had assumed you would be this stuck up teenager that didn’t care about anything but what she wanted. You proved us so very wrong. Every time we saw you out, you had a sweet smile on your face and you were always helping people out, even with little things. The sweetest thing was one time you had a little blonde girl with you while you went to town. She was holding onto your hand and you were showing her around. She was probably 6 or so at the time? I think you had to have been about 19. You had her on your shoulders, carrying her around. I thought she was your little sister with how you were with her.”
“No...she was the daughter of one of the executives. As far as I know, he’s not with Optimus anymore. I just want to clear the air and say I never intended to cause all the pain and destruction that I did. I honestly thought we were helping to save people, not hurt them,” she said.
My parents looked at her for a second before they smiled. My dad held a hand out to her, “I always knew you were good.”
Lorelei smiled and took hold of his hand, “Thank you sir.”
He pulled her in close and teasingly said, “But if you hurt my daughter, I’ll come after you.” He ended that with a wink to show he was teasing.
Her smile widened and she turned to me, holding a hand out to me, “I wouldn’t dream of hurting her.” She pulled me close when I took her hand and gave me a quick kiss.
I smiled into the kiss then leaned my head against her shoulder when we parted, “Don’t worry Dad. She’s treated me far better than I ever thought anyone would. She’s saved me multiple times since we first met, and in turn caused me to fall for her.”
Lorelei grinned at me, “It was saving you that made you fall for me? I thought it was just my mysterious act and handsome face.”
I playfully smacked her arm, “You know very well it was all of the above.”
“Wait she saved you?” My dad asked, intrigued. My mom was even curious.
“Yes, she did. Saved me from many things that had to deal with Optimus trying to hurt me.”
“How?” My mom asked.
“We might want to sit down, this will be a long story,” I said. Once we all sat down, I started again, “I’m going to assume you’ve heard of the Syndicate?” I asked. When they nodded, both Lorelei and I told of the many battles we went through. We told them our identities as Monarch and Badger, told of our powers and what we have accomplished. My parents were shocked to find out I had powers.
“Wait, you have powers? After all of that testing you went through and all the negative tests...how did your powers come about?” My mom asked.
“Optimus. They had been looking for Lorelei, and found me as I was heading to her place. They tried to kidnap me, running after me, and in the dangerous situation, my powers came forth and shoved the guard that took hold of me away. After that, I’ve been training with my powers and finally have them to where I can control them.”
We kept telling stories of what we’ve had to do, my parents listening intently to all of them. When we finally finished, my parents were both shocked and furious with Optimus. They never once said anything about how we were doing the wrong thing by destroying property or anything. My dad merely looked at Lorelei, “Whatever you do or whatever happens, just please keep her safe. And you stay safe as well.”
“I swear on my life to keep her safe. There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for her.”
My mom just smiled, “Well then, since we’ve got all of that in the air, how about we go out and enjoy ourselves? Have some fun before you’re final battle?” Lorelei and I just smiled as we stood up and agreed. We took my parents to some of our favorite places and ate lunch with them at the food trucks. The whole time we were together, there wasn’t one moment where we weren’t laughing or smiling.
My mom pulled me to the side while my dad was talking to Lorelei, “Honey, I just wanted to tell you that you did a great job. I’m so proud of you and I’m happy you’ve found love with Lorelei. I just wanted to tell you that I definitely approve.”
I gave her a hug, “Thanks Mom.”
She hugged me back then pulled away and looked at my dad, “Honey, it’s about time we head back. Don’t want it to get dark on us.”
“Of course,” he said before giving both me and Lorelei a hug, “you two take care of each other.”
“We will Dad. It was so great to see you and Mom today. And I’m so glad you got to meet Lorelei.”
He whispered in my ear, “I definitely approve of her.”
I rolled my eyes, “I never would’ve guessed.” I giggled when he pinched my side teasingly. I smiled when I saw my mom hug Lorelei too. We walked my parents back to their car and waved at them as they left. I wrapped my arms around Lorelei’s waist and hugged her, laying my head on her shoulder, “I knew they’d love you.”
She smiled and kissed my forehead, “I’m really glad we met them today. We’ve got to spend more time with them in the future.”
I smiled, “Absolutely.”
Lorelei and I watched the sun set. We were ready for anything that Optimus could hope to throw at us. Tomorrow was the big day. We would take down Scarlet and Optimus once and for all. And we were ready.
“Let’s go home,” Lorelei said.
I smiled and laced my fingers with hers, “Let’s go. I want to get you home so I can have you all to myself and snuggle with you in the couch.”
She smiled and kissed my cheek as we started walking home. Today had been just what Lorelei and I had needed. We both had the confidence that we were unstoppable and we would work together to defeat Optimus once and for all.
As soon as we got home, we changed into pajamas and sat together on the couch, not worried about what tomorrow would bring. We just focused on being together and nothing else.
Story Untold
Lorelei and I had nearly finished unpacking as we moved into our new home. Lorelei carries the last box into our bedroom just as my phone rang. I smiled when I saw it was Juliette and answered, “Hey stranger!”
“Hey! How’s the moving going?”
“Almost done. Lorelei’s unpacking the last box now. How’s traveling the world going?”
“Fabulous! I’m actually going to be coming back home tomorrow. Figured I would relax and catch up with everyone,” she said.
“Oh wow that’s great! We could go eat, spend time together, anything. Lorelei and I could show you the house!”
There was a pause before she spoke again, “Thank you...MC.”
I was confused, “For what Juliette?”
“For bringing the old Lorelei back...” she trailed off as she choked back a sob.
At that time, Lorelei had walked back in. She paused when she heard crying over the phone. I had her on speaker so I put a finger to my lips. She nodded and leaned against the door facing.
“Juliette...what do you mean brought her back?”
“You brought back the kind, caring, and loving Lorelei I used to know...the one I grew up around...”
It all started to sink in for both Lorelei and I. “Juliette...if you don’t mind me asking...how did you meet Lorelei?”
I could practically hear her smile, “I grew up around her. She had been seventeen when I met her. I was maybe four years old. I would always wander into her office and sit there with her while she was working. One time, Lorelei fell asleep at her desk, so I climbed up on her lap and fell asleep against her.”
I giggled at the mental image of a four year old Juliette cuddled up against seventeen year old Lorelei, sitting in a chair. “Aww, that’s so sweet.”
“Lorelei is the sister I never had. I grew up an only child, but I could always go to Lorelei if I needed her. She was always there for me. She put off being with Scarlet a few times, which Scarlet wasn’t happy about. But, she always made time for me,” Juliette said. There was a very long pause before she continued, “but then, only 8 years later, she vanished from the face of the earth. Before she left, she old me, that if I ever needed her, all I would have to do is call, and she would be there. I was 12 and already a tech genius. A couple years after she was gone, Scarlet began going nuts, and Optimus was tearing itself apart. I had been doing everything I possibly could to avoid her exact location. I didn’t want them to find her, because I knew they were up to no good.”
“What happened?”
“My father...he...he came home in an uncontrollable rage. He grabbed me by the hair, pushed me up against the wall and punched me as hard as he could. He said...if I didn’t find her by the time he got back home from work...he was going to kill me himself...for being so useless.”
My eyes widened when she said that. I covered my mouth as tears threatened to spill.
“I was terrified. I was in pain...and I needed Lorelei. I called her, and she picked up on the second ring. She asked me what has wrong...all I could do was cry and say her name. Her tone changed drastically. She asked what happened. When I told her, she promptly asked me where I was and said she would be right there. A few hours later, Lorelei was at my door. At this point, my face had bruises and my lip was split from when he punched me. I’d never seen the look of pure rage on her face. She helped me get patched up then sat on the couch with me and waited for my father to return.”
Lorelei walked over to sit by me, staying quiet, remembering what went down.
“When my father walked in, she threw him against the wall and tore into him. She told him if he ever laid a hand on me ever again she would make him pay. He was so terrified he just nodded at her. When she let go of him, he ran out of the house and I hadn’t seen him since. I figure he’s dead. He’s dead to me. I was emancipated and I kept in contact with Lorelei, making sure she was alright. When Zeke, Duke, and I went to find her, to ask her to join us, I didn’t know if she would recognize me. As soon as I took my helmet off, she stared at me for a brief second before her eyes widened and she called me by name. I practically tackled her to the ground when I hugged her. It wasn’t quite the same as when I was younger, but I was just so glad to see her alive, that I didn’t care,” she explained. Juliette cleated her throat and sniffles a bit, “I’m getting all emotional.”
“Juliette,” Lorelei spoke up.
It was quiet before she spoke, “Lorelei...how much of that did you hear?”
“All of it. I just wanted to say...you never lost me...yes I admit I was a lot less social than I used to be, but you never lost me Juliette. I’m sorry if I made you feel that way,” Lorelei apologized as she spoke softly.
There was a slight laugh on the phone, “You have no idea what that means to me.”
“Hey Jules...can I tell you something?”
There was a long pause before Juliette sniffled again, “Been a long time since you called me that...what is it?”
“What kept me going...all those years...were those messages and calls you made to me...just when I would try to block everything out, your messages would remind me that there was someone out there that needed me. I’d told you I would always respond no matter what. I was scared when I stopped receiving your messages. I was about to send a message to you to ask about you, but then you showed up with Zeke and Duke. Jules...I was so damned happy to see you. I know I didn’t act it, but I was. You’ve grown so much from that four year old that would come to my office to play. It’s hard to believe that you’re the same person, but no matter what, just know that I’m proud of who you’ve become. I’d fight tooth and nail for you if you asked. Because, you are a little sister to me Juliette. And that will never change.”
Juliette started crying then. I could tell they were happy tears. “It’s great to have you back Lorelei. My makeup is smearing and running down my face! When I get back we are going out together, all of us. I need to have my family around. Thank you Lorelei, and thank you MC. I’m going to fix my makeup then get ready for my flight. I’ll call when I land and if I can, I’ll send a text while in the air. I’ll see you two soon.”
“See you later Juliette!”
“Talk to you later Jules,” Lorelei added.
We hung up and sat together, cuddling on the couch. I looked up to see Lorelei smiling wide, a tear sliding down her cheek. I smiled and cuddled closer. I got the chance to learn about their past, and I felt privileged to be know the story behind their close relationship. I couldn’t wait to see Juliette and couldn’t wait to witness the reunion.
