Ally giggled at the kisses being peppered along her forehead as she tried to give Kitty a kiss back. She grinned excitedly when she finally managed to land one on Kitty’s cheek. “We in Bosson!” Dezi nodded. “We were in Boston. With everything that happened with Andy, I think we needed some time away in an unfamiliar environment. We tried to start over, but everywhere I looked, I saw him, and it was like he was telling us to go home. So now that we’re in a better place mentally, we’re back. And we’re never leaving again.” Ally grinned and nodded excitedly. “Titty! I bid now! Woosh!” The toddler jumped, raising her hand up to show that she’d gotten bigger. And she had, even in just a month. She was more mature, she could speak more, and she’d gotten taller. “She grew at least an inch while we were gone…my little beanstalk.”

She pulled a face, scrunching her nose as Ally kissed her cheek before promptly bursting out in laughter. Amid the craziness of the past three weeks with the disappearance of some of her closest friends and her brother flying back home to England, she really had missed Dezi’s company and it was only now that she was realising it. “You better not,” Kitty grinned, arm wrapping around Ally’s torso. “Without you two there, sales at Pages has gone down.” While it wasn’t technically a lie, it wasn’t exactly the whole truth either. Pages had just been quieter without the two and well, others. “Gosh, you are big, aren’t you? You’re going to be taller than me soon.” Kitty joked, lifting a hand to tickle the girl’s belly.

“Are you really going to make me answer that, Kit?” He didn’t like the idea of anyone pulling his little sister along by a string. However, he didn’t know the guy and while he knew he should be given him fair treatment, he was already biased and not in his favor.

Without a single back-tracking thought, Kitty answered, “Yes.” Okay, so no one in her family had actually met the guy (properly) and he’d come to the house once when they were all at work, but that didn’t mean that she was going to ‘cross him off the list’ and stop talking to him. “Besides, you’ve met him. He used to work at Pages. Kind of shy. Awkward. Blonde.”
