(First of all, I want to say a big thank you to the author for sending me an e-book of Starr Fall in exchange for an honest review) 🌟🌟🌟🌟 I was sent this book a few months ago, but with some wedding planning, a new kitten, and an impenetrable TBR list - it took me way too long to get the this. But I am so glad I did! I am going to keep this review short and sweet because I feel like Starr Fall is one of those books it’s better to go into not knowing a whole lot. Starr has been recruited by the Organization to be their top assassin - but here’s the thing, Starr just wants to pass her leadership exam. Let the madness ensure. I really enjoyed this fresh take on the female assassin narrative. Most of the time when we see this character type they are already full throttle into that badass killer lifestyle. I thought it was such a fresh take to see a young girl that was so obviously fleeing the nefarious Organization. I promise to not get all spoilery, but I am just obsessed with how amazing the pacing is of this story is. It never feels slow. It never feels draggy. You meet the main characters and you are quickly catapulted into the story. And what a twisty, quickly paced story it was! There were times where I felt like Starr’s love interest Christian came off as a little too dark and brooding, a character I’ve seen many times before. But as the story unfolds we start to see more corners of his personality which made him more redeemable in my eyes. Overall, I thought Starr Fall was a well-put together book with an innovative concept and I am excited to see where the story goes from here!
Even if things didn’t always go the way they should, sometimes they went exactly where they needed to.

I did a thing!
We Are Okay does a great job of encapsulating the feeling of loneliness.

Just finished this beauty today 🙌🏼
Girl, Made of Bricks
I’ll say it.
While fire spirals from my tongue. I’ll say it. Stinging every ounce of me I own. I’ll say it. Totally free, as me and all alone.
You’re right. There it is. Both syllables in place. Can’t you see pleasure leaping off my face? No? Well, I feel great. Except that I am 459 days too late
I’ve missed birthdays Holiday traditions – Wishbone breaks, Jingle bells, Santa hats Let me eat Marti Gras Cakes
You say, I never say it. That I let things go to my head. Heart made of stone, Bones forged from lead.
There’s no twisting my arm Only breaking it. There’s no fountain of love Just a bottomless pit.
I never say sorry, Just give you a kiss. Turn your head I’ll pretend I planned to miss.
Maybe I am concrete and rubble Never anything soft – I am not a bubble. Bursting is not something I know. Just building, Just climbing. I am not something you want to throw. I am bricks, I am boulders I am too heavy to wear on your shoulders.
But, I’ll tell you what I did. I asked about your mother. Can I get you another piece of pie? Did you have a nice day? Sometimes - isn’t it what you ask and not what you say
I’m redeemable I did something good They outweigh each other Or it seems like they should.
If it helps I’m sorry and I’m wrong. Sometimes I’m just too weak When I am strong
I never let emotions get the better of me I don’t let them have anything at all. We prop ourselves up, Because we don’t want to fall.
So I’m not going to jump But I’ll lean in real close
to say, I’ve done so many things And none the right way.

A CONJURING OF LIGHT REVIEW Rating: ☀️☀️☀️☀️.5 A Conjuring of Light is my read of the month for March! More like a Conjuring of Love for this series - am I right? (Okay, I'll stop) The Shades of Magic series has been a thrilling adventure. And this book - THIS is how you finish a series. THIS is how you keep readers interested for three books. THIS is how you get me (of all people) to happily finish a 633 page book. THIS THIS THIS You want strong female characters? Got them. Open gay characters? They are here. A fantastical magical world? You bet. A brooding villain? Intriguing plot? Twists and turns? YES YES YES A Conjuring of Light is an example set for all other Trilogies on how to end things properly. Everyone who needed a scene together, got their scene. The characters we wanted to learn more about, they got their turn. Everything was finished. This book is painstakingly and flawlessly wrapping up all the things we've grown to love in the series. It feels so good to have a fulfilling end to a masterful series. Except one tiny thing. I knocked a .5 star because there was one characters backstory that was never completed and it bothered me because they spent a long time talking about it in all the books, getting closer and closer and then nothing. I do think there were rumors of additional stories being written, so maybe this will all come to light (pun intended) soon. Otherwise, if you are considering picking up this series, do it! I'll be over here mourning the loss of already finishing it. Anoshe.

In the Victorian language of flowers, the anemone symbolizes the death of a loved one. Anemones can also stand for dying hope or the feeling of having been abandoned.
Mickey Malkovich is my everything. Anyone else really, really digging shameless right now?
