a bunch of you guys reblogged one of my old posts n reminded me of this account…alas, here we are, two years later !
glad to see lîftbr’s still alive and well.
i haven’t lifted properly in so long :( i used to go w/ my friend group but we all fell out & iss kinda boring going alone ://
My Favourite Líftī*g Method EVER (for beginners) + Top Tips (small haul edition) <3
Sléëvê Cöncealîng
- okie, hear me out right. For drug stores, pharmacies and stationary & jewellery stores (and other places where you pick up fairly small trinkets), slêèvé cöncéalîng is KEY. Yes, yes, i know this is like, the most basic and foundational method out there, but i feel like i still don’t hear of enough people utilising it correctly ?
- Firstly, when it comes to any form of cöncéalment at all, you know what, even w/ dropping things into cups/bags, appearance is so so key. Iss difficult because you want a balance between looking innocent & wearing something that allows you to body conceal, i.e a jumper. Personally, i take full advantage of winter in the UK and wear a ski jacket (because iss not suspicious when iss like 2°c outside) or any other puffy winter wear (it is key that your jacket is bulky to some degree, you don’t want edges and corners of your items sticking out at weird angles being highlighted by your extra thin coat). Bomber jackets are also AMAZING for sleeve concéalmênt because of their baggy sleeves. Ski jackets are especially good because they usually have a SHIT TON of compartments and zips on the inside that allow you to drop things in as you go.
- Anyways, after you’ve sorted out some sort of coat/jacket that’s both puffy and has roomy sleeves, make sure you wear something extra innocent underneath, and where possible, always leave your coat zip undone (this usually looks a lot less suspicious as you appear more open & warm). I always go for the innocent soul cycle girl look, i.e grey yoga leggings, a cute light coloured sports bra and a baggy v-neck jumper (once again, light coloured). Not to sound snobby, but it really really pays to dress as if you’re well off/privileged. Avoid wearing black as much as you can, and instead opt for lighter neutral colours that make you look both innocent and help you blend in.
- Great, now that you look the part, let’s learn how to act the part (i promise imm getting to how to actually sleeve concéál effectively). Always, ALWAYS make an effort to smile at the LP standing @ the door. Take full advantage of covid, we’re all wearing masks anyways, so you don’t even have to worry too much about the LP taking note of your face. Always be kind and sweet, they’re not going to waste their time watching you/following you around the store if they’ve already deemed you’re low risk (that’s not to say that you should get lazy/messy w/ your concéalmènt though, there’s ALWAYS someone watching).
- Now, to get to the actual concèalmént. Sleeve concéalîng is AMAZING simply because, when carried out correctly, it can’t even be detected by people watching through cameras. Please note that this only works with small items though, such as eyeliner, pens, small beauty pallets, etc. The trick is to use your body language and actions effectively. Firstly, when you grab your item, move around the shop, grab a couple of decoys & make it so that your hands are somewhat full so that when one of the items go missing, iss not noticeable. Now it’s time to make the most of your actions & body language. Have your desired item in a suitable position in your hand, ready to ram it up your sleeve in a swift movement. I’ve gotten so good at this that even when I’m w/ other people, they don’t see/realise I’m lîftíng.
- You want to pick a movement that is somewhat sudden or abrupt that allows you to slide the item up your sleeve swiftly and smoothly. If you’re with other people, opt for a laugh, bend over a little as if the person you’re with has just told the funniest joke known to man and slide the item up your sleeve. If you’re alone, go for a sneeze or a cough. You can also pretend to trip, although you might want to save that for when you’re with someone else. The trick is to incorporate the líftîng into a natural movement you would make, rather than isolating the action & looking hella suspicious. Side note, make sure you’re not looking at the item while you do this- you want to make it look as natural as possible. Once you’ve concèaléd your item, you can go about putting decoys back and leaving the store. Oo, i forgot to mention, jackets with cuffed sleeves are also amazing because they prevent your items from falling out once they’re in your sleeve, but this shouldn’t be a problem with other jackets, as long as the cuffs of the sleeves aren’t too loose.
Cons to this method:
- you can only lîft small items, however this isn’t an issue if you’re going for high value jewellery
- you can only lift a couple of items, unless you’ve got massive fucking arms ??
Other top tips:
- do NOT leave packaging/tags around the store, take as much of it as you can with you
- if you decide to go with other people, be classy, don’t be loud thinking it’ll alleviate suspicion, it’ll only draw attention. Make sure whoever you go with is also dressed for the part, even if they’re not planning on lîftīng.
- never spend ages in a store you know you’re not going to buy anything from. Nothing’s more suspicious than someone walking around with full hands for 45 minutes only to leave the store empty handed. If you’re planning on only lîftïng, make your trip swift, as if you went in to have a look but couldn’t find what you were looking for.
Okie lovelies, that’s all i can think of for now, let me know if you have any questions <3 xx kitty
AGHH ALSOALSOALSO,, CHRISTMAAAASS IS APPROACHING !! And we all know what that means 😏 Oxford st. is lïftèr HEAVEN at this time of year,, yeah yeah they may be extra heavy on the LP, but even last year w/ covid, the streets were PACKED,, so so easy to slip in and out of shops, and oh my god, packed shops mean iss supperrrr easy to sleeve and body conceal.
Iss also approaching my 1 year anniversary of being on lîftbr,, & i’d just like to say this is my absolute favourite community. Everyone here is so cute & supportive <3
Side note:
Please share how covid’s affected your “lîftíng affairs” (💀) these last couple years, imm really curious because of a mixed narrative ? Some people say iss really helped them, other have said iss been a nuisance and made it more difficult ?
i got a dog, & i’ve never had more fun than lîft*ng from Pêtś @ Hömë. £10 for a packet of wipes ? I think not love x
Sorry for the iphone filming but its the only thing i have :/ anyway a vid on how to remove gator tags since ive seen a lot of the community having trouble w them. I’m not responsible for anything that comes bc of this video and this is strictly for educational purposes only
In honor of all the funny gator tag messages in my inbox lmao
Thank you so much! This is very helpful 👍🏼
Bringing this back on my dash !
not to mention that lp’s cant arrest you for having a ponytail on you !!!will use this next haul
Love this. How I learned. Works everytime.
Gotta try this, I’ve been just cutting the tags off instead heh
Depressed as hell rn, so imm going to do a FAT haul 🏋️♂️tomorrow to make myself feel better. Honestly just líft for the adrenaline rush now 💔
✨TIP✨
Go to this website
https://www.sensormatic.com/
and creep on their products. These are the towers and security tags that almost EVERY STORE uses, if not every store. On the website you can see pictures of all their tags and towers with names and descriptions! This has allowed me to know exactly what a tower does and how it looks. Is it a magnet detector as well as a tag detector? Well, you can find out here. Same with different tags. This will keep you up to speed on everything capitalism is trying to stop us from doing.
Lifters among us, aka how I almost got caught.
I was travelling and decided to go to one of my favorite stores for lifting (ulta) with the intention of trying to get my hands on the new Anastasia highlighter and a few other goodies. I went in and everything seemed fine, I got all the stuff and concealed in a blind spot. Everything seemed normal.
Then an SA came up to me and asked me if I was finding everything okay, I said yes and she hovered, giving me a glare. I felt a little uneasy. She left after about 10 seconds but didn’t stay far away.
Then a second SA came up to me and offered me a basket. I said “no thanks, I don’t have much” She looked at me really intensely and said “take the basket” in a quiet voice, through her teeth in a smile.
I hesitated but took the basket and she said louder “let me know if you need help finding anything!” and walked away. I went to put some stuff I was carrying in the basket when I noticed a piece of receipt paper thrown in the basket, I looked closer at it and scrawled on it was “DITCH!!!”.
I felt my stomach knot and my palms started to sweat, when I dropped the items into the basket I snatched the little paper and crumpled it up, sticking it in my pocket.
I was internally panicking but making sure not to show it. There are several blind spots in this store so every time I passed through one I took out a couple products and stuck them in the bottom of the basket until my bag was empty.
I still wanted the highlighter so I went around putting items back, making it look like I was mulling over it before placing it back on the shelf.
I decided on buying a lip gloss and the highlighter and went to the front. There were several sales associates that seemed out of place just hovering, the girl that gave me the basket was one of them, she still stared at me intensely.
I paid for the merch in cash and didn’t give my name, said thank you and made sure to stay cool and normal the whole time (without forcing it). I took my bag and walked towards the door where a really mean looking lady was standing. Her mouth was contorted into a weird smile/grimace and she was driving daggers into me with her eyes.
As my hand touched the bar on the door to push it open, she put her arm out and pulled it back closed. I basically shit myself at this point but I knew I had nothing at all on me, so I just looked at her and asked her what was wrong.
She looked at me and curtly said “didn’t want the eyeshadow palette? Or the blush? Or the lipsticks?” I said “no, I only came here for the highlighter, thanks.” And pushed on the door again. Yet again she pulled it closed.
She asked me to go to the back room and I said “no thanks, I haven’t done anything.” Then she asks to look in my bag and I tell her “I don’t have to let you do that unless there’s a police officer requesting me to do so with reasonable grounds. Do you want me to call them? Because at this point you’re preventing me from leaving and you’re breaking the law.” I shoulda said violating my rights but whatever.
She tells me they’re already on the way. Cool.
The police arrive and walk up, they quickly chat with the manager and a couple staff members before approaching me and asking me to see in my bag. I oblige and open it up. All I have is my wallet, keys, phone, lip balm and a couple hair elastics. I’m wearing jeans and have very small pockets so they can see nothing is in there.
The cop asks me to wait one more moment and goes back to the employees/manager and I hear a bit of the quick convo including “did you even see her conceal anything?” (The SA that gave me the basket said no and that she didn’t think I took anything, Just following orders), “no she doesn’t have to open her bag for you unless police are here.”, “you can’t detain someone without solid proof or confession.”. Obviously they said it a bit different with proper terminology but that’s the basics of it.
I pretend to be inconvenienced and cross my arms, even though I feel like I’m going into cardiac arrest honestly.
The cops come back over and tell me I’m free to leave, they explain to me what the “misunderstanding” was and that nothing further will happen after I leave.
I thanked them and as I was leaving I shot the manager a dirty look and then caught eyes with the SA that gave me the basket, made sure not to smile or anything just wanted her to hopefully catch my thank you vibe.
If that SA is on liftblr honestly thank you so much I hope nothing happened afterwards and no one saw you do anything other than hand me the basket.
Scariest day ever omfg.
I’d go back there another day, just to thank her. She saved you from a potential felony charge 💕
this is an incredible story, it’s a miracle u got away unscathed! thank god for that sweetie sa
I love girls helping girls and lifters(?) helping lifters 💛
Imm sending good vibes to that SA, what a star ⭐️
Magnet extraordinaire: THE GUIDE
**disclaimer, this is not mine. i pulled it off the shoplifting feed on reddit. post and information belong to istoleyourribeyes on reddit**
What’s up fellow lifters?
I’ve been using magnets and experimenting with them for awhile now. They have a lot to do with shoplifting so I’d love to share that with you. At request of Pesky-Wabbit.
In my opinion there’s three types of magnets you need to shoplift, each one I will cover in depth.
Those being:
An S3 key
A golf magnet or detacher
Regular neodymium magnets
I’ll go over the uses the S3 key first.
(Here’s a picture) http://imgur.com/a/6kWFE
An S3 key has a series of two separate magnets inside. One where each notch is on the S3 key.
The most useful and pretty much the only use for an S3 key is to open SpiderWrap. (The black circle with the wires surrounding the box, usually on electronics)
I’ve heard people say you can use them to open other things, however in my experience they really only unlock SpiderWire.
Where you can purchase an S3 key?
Amazon, eBay, and AliExpress are a select few! They can be had for as cheap as 8 bucks.
(Here’s one for $11.00) http://s.aliexpress.com/rquqaime
You can also lift one, if you don’t want to wait the 30 days it takes to get here from China. I personally went with this method, although I wouldn’t do it again.
The easiest place to lift an S3 key is probably Walmart. To be successful this is going to take some effort on your part. To find my S3 I ended up going to 4-5 different Walmarts in my area.
First you’re going to be looking for a Walmart with a garden section and an S3 attached to that register. You need to case each of your Walmarts until you find exactly what you’re looking for. Go into the Walmarts garden section and casually look for an S3 attached to the register. Most Walmarts have S3s on every register, MOST. This is where you might need to shop around!!
Once you find a register in the garden section look at what’s keeping it tied to the register. Most the time it will be a metal wire attached to the register looped to the key.
Have a game plan when you come back. You’re going to return at night, because there is absolutely no one in the garden section at midnight. I had wire cutters in my jacket and proceeded to cut the wire and slip it into my jacket. That’s the easiest way, If it’s connected that way.
IMPORTANT!!
Each legit Alpha systems S3 key has a RFID chip inside. This will activate the EAS towers when you leave the store. You’ll need to wrap it in tinfoil before you leave. Honestly it’s not that hard to make a tinfoil pouch to throw the key into. Once you get home open up the key and take out the RFID chip. ( This was mine: http://imgur.com/a/ACeMG )
I highly recommend you buy it instead. If you buy a third party S3 key they won’t have an RFID inside.
Crafting your own S3
I’ve made a couple S3 keys and they’ve left me with a certain longing. They just don’t do anywhere near as good a job as my factory alpha key. Sometimes they would work sometimes they wouldn’t. Again I highly recommend you buy it, but I will link how to make an S3 below. It can get very frustrating because you’re working with two magnets very close to each other trying to keep them separate. I pinched my finger on multiple occasions.
(Here’s that link) http://totseans.com/more-shoplifting-tools/
Golf Magnets and detachers
These are going to be an investment, they’re not cheap and they take time to get.
(Here’s a picture of a detacher, specifically the one I bought) http://imgur.com/a/xURFD
It’s about half the size of a base ball maybe ¾ the size. It’s heavy and bulky but DAMN it works.
These range anywhere from 25-200 bucks. I paid 36 for mine with a hook detacher as seen in the picture. Unfortunately the shop I bought from closed or else I would link it. I did buy from AliExpress, and surprisingly it shipped to me in around 5 days. (US)
The important thing you need to realize when buying a detacher is the magnets pull strength. It’s measured in gauss. The increments usually go 12,000 to 15,000 and then to 25,000 gauss. I would recommend the 15,000 gauss detacher.
Obviously the stronger the gauss the stronger the magnet, it’s going to work better. If you’re lifting clothes this is a must. My 15,000 detacher pops off any ink tag without effort. No more pulling or twisting it just pops right off.
I would buy my detacher again in a heart beat. I highly highly recommend them, and I’ll go into more depth in the next section as to why it’s so much better than a regular stack of neodymium magnets.
Regular Neodymium Magnets
These are just your regular N52 grade magnets. Neodymium is the strongest magnet there is, and that’s why we use it.
(Here’s a picture of what my stack looks like) http://imgur.com/a/I3slt
The more gauss you can get the better. Most likely these aren’t going to be very strong. (In comparison to the detachers) In this formation with quarter size magnets, (around 12) I have found they only open one or two tags.
These tags ( http://imgur.com/a/q4vLM ) were the most reliable at opening. This still took effort twisting and a little pulling until it would pop open. They also opened the Alpha screamers very reliably. ( Picture here http://imgur.com/a/wbKRj )
These are nice because they can fit in your pocket and you can lift them from Home Depot really easily. Hands down though the golf detachers win by a land slide. These are also what you’ll be using to make an S3 key if you decide to go that route.
In regards to where you put the magnet on the tag is going to depend. Usually there will be a little nub and that’s where you’ll put it. Weaker magnets you might need to move it around and wiggle the tag a little.
Summary and TLDR
Basically I just listed all the info required to use magnets when lifting. There was shit info about magnets on this sub and so hopefully this helps you noobs. Remember using tools can result in a worse charge if you’re caught. Let me know if I should add anything down below!
Be careful and hopefully you liked this, it took some time.
🛍💖How to look rich when l1fting. 💍👛✨
I don’t want to blow my own horn, but I have experience when it comes to lifting big ticket items and it’s all because of my look and attitude. Two years ago, I lifted a Canad@ go0se jacket. I have a closet full of ball gowns from Anthr0pologie. My bed, nightstand, mirror, and other furniture items are all from an ik3a walkout. You get the point.
The things that you need to have when l1ftibg expensive items is the right demeanor, attitude, and look.
Don’t walk into a store with a nervous tick like picking your hands, looking at cameras, or avoiding SAs. Walk in with a smile on your face, look around, take in the store, acknowledge the security guard at the entrance and the SAs, etc. Look curious in items like any regular shopper would. When I’m looking at clothing, I check the price, hold it up to myself in a mirror, feel the material, and so on. Look at items carefully like you are considering to buy them or not. Don’t make fast movements except if you’re speed concealing or something like that.
Attitude is so so so important. When you l1ft you need to be in the right headspace. I try not to l1ft when I’m angry, sad, or too confident. Being in a neutral mood is the best for me because I don’t feel I need to prove anything to myself or make a rash decision like I might if I was sad or angry. When I walk into a store, I take when I can only describe as an ‘elitist’ persona. It’s like I am a little rich girl that can afford anything and want for nothing, except I’m nice to service workers aka SAs. I ask genuine questions about things such as “is that 100% cashmere?”, “does this come in __ size?”, “is this rayon?” because when you ask questions about things, it shows you’re interested in the product and know you’re shit. Often times I leave without purchasing anything, which I’ve seen people say isn’t a good idea. I play it off as nothing satisfies me. That shirt? I prefer the French silk R3formation uses. How did those shoes work out? Too last season. I want to clarify, I am not a name-dropping ass and do not flaunt myself as better than everyone, I am a normal shopper and use these tricks when I know they will work and make SAs like me/trust me. Don’t boast. Truly rich people don’t boast about themselves and their wealth and that’s what we are trying to emulate.
Let’s talk about looks. They matter. Be aware of your identity and how people perceive you. Being white versus Black is very different when shopping and be honest with how your race, gender, clothes, face, and more make people look at you. When I’m lifting I like to stick to a preppy look. Think nicely cut clothes in neutral colors with nice bag. If you can, consider investing in a luxury piece. I bought a luxury bag a few years ago for $400 and it has paid off beyond my wildest dreams. I usually keep my hair pulled off my face and sport simple makeup. Sometimes I wear glasses. My look is chic and almost business casual, which is responded to quite differently than someone in sweats with a backpack on.
I really like the end part. Be highly aware of your privilege when it comes to lïfting. If you have prïvlige, use it for good. Donate to those lose fortunate, etc
sus masterlist
Heres a list of things to avoid that look sus! (compiled from many other posts and lp reddit)
Getting out of the car and putting on a backpack
Covering your face as you walk in the door
Walking quickly
Looking at people, not merchandise / noticing every person who walks by
Carrying a large bag
Looking at people instead of looking for a cart when they first walk in the building.
Selecting a hiding item (trash can, tote, large box) and placing it in the cart before going to a high theft area
Women who put their purses in the top of the cart and leave them open. Then when they select, some things go into the basket and some go next to the purse.
Bragging to your friends
Out of season clothing (sweatshirts to body-pack in the winter etc.)
Sunglasses
Backpacks
Red dyed hair
Stroller with two bags
Hoodies on especially if the drawstrings are pulled
Carrying a receipt
Going in circles
Leaning on the cart when pushing it (elbows on cart to look relaxed but has a stiff back)
Going to the bathroom multiple times
Touching your face allot
Covering your mouth (sign of anxiety)
Looking around the store at an abnormal rate
Being surprised when an SA approaches you
Removing hangers from clothing and leaving those hangers on the rack.
Hanging around blind spot areas too much
Groups of teenagers
Picking items w/o even looking at prices
If they came inside the store on foot (walked instead of drove)
Walking with TOO much confidence / a cocky demeanor
I don’t know if I agree with the leaving hangers on the rack bit, my mom does that, my friends do, a lot of people do that. if you’re doing everything right (not doing any of the things above) this really isn’t that huge of a red flag.
Biggest piece of advice I can give is to THINK LIKE A NORMAL SHOPPER. Normal shoppers look at prices, they pick things up. they read ingredients. they compare items. they sometimes ask for help. they aren’t afraid of conversation with employees.
be careful lovelies 🥰

ok, but has anyone talk about how nice it is to not have to automatically keep every object that comes into your house. like if I lyft a pair of shoes, and then it turns out they are really painful to wear for long periods, I don't have to keep the shoes forever until I literally have to replace them because I don't have the money. if I lyft a meal, and it taste like absolute trash, I don't have to eat it anyway because that is where the food budget went. if I get some skin care product and it burns my skin, I can just get diffrent skin care. if a jacket isn't as warm as I thought it would be, I don't have to freeze for the next three year. objects are just objects. I don't have to hoard them in case I might need something. I don't have to decide between them and nothing at all.
