We kept shrek in meme rotation for so long back in the day. We overworked that fucker until it was so unfunny no one even wanted to look at him in the eyes. He can rest easy now, dead.

It’s a horrible time to be a Skullgirls fan.

Not because of the censorship stuff.

But because I can’t go anywhere without people whining about it and killing the mood. Seriously guys, this isn’t a huge deal in the grand scheme of things. I just want to enjoy these fun characters and this fun game without a massive hassle. So please, stop.

Just fyi, before I do anything, I just wanna let you know that I overal enjoy the Skullgirls comic, but it does have some glaring issues that have frustrated me for a while

You see this? This is Cerebella

She’s one of the more complex characters in Skullgirls, but the main thing you need to know is that she’s a good person. A good person who, unfortunately, was raised by the mafia after her actual family was killed. She’s still a good person, but in a bad crowd, and this clouds her judgement.

I want you to remember this. Why? Because THE WEBCOMIC ASSASSINATED HER CHARACTER SO HARD I WANNA HOLD AN IRL FUNERAL.

Now, this might seem ridiculous, but holy FUCK. It feels like every time she’s on screen they go out of their way to make sure she’s as unlikeable as possible, from making her a short tempered asshole who has yet to show a hint of sympathy, to making her whine about going in a sewer to Eliza, a character who would take WAAAAY more issue with it than Cerebella. Especially since in the context of the scene, they are one an extremely important mission that Cerebella wouldn’t want to risk messing up, while Eliza is just being paid by them for this job, she has zero loyalty to them. I think you can see the problem with that. And honestly? I could go on, but it would just boil down to me whining about every scene she’s in. Because there is not a SINGLE good thing I can say about comic Cerebella

That's a valid point. Also, I'm sad that Cerebella doesn't get to interact with the Circus. It brings out so much in her.

Let's not forget about Parasoul. In the Webtoon continuity she's prone to acting without thinking beforehand (Adam freaking lampshades this at some point). The attack on the Medici Tower looked pretty logical in SGM, but in the comic it really feels like Parasoul's tantrum.

And she's not the only one. There's Marie. There's Irvin (he might be a pretty minor character, but his lines still raise a bunch of questions). There's a lot of weirdness surrounding Eliza, too...

I love the Webtoon, but some of the writing decisions are rubbing me the wrong way.

Though, they really nailed that part about Adam suffering.

Honestly, the Parasoul thing would work just fine if they hadn’t added that thing about people thinking the Medici’s are good people (Which makes absolutely zero sense from any standpoint, especially once we get into stuff like Squigly’s story, or just… anything relating to Black Dahlia’s existence.)

If they didn’t add that plotpoint (which has hardly been mentioned anyway, and feels more like a shallow excuse why they can’t just arrest him immediately), Parasoul’s logic would be completely sound
