Photogenic is not a word I use to describe myself. Occasionally a good photo happens though. On this chilly Memorial Day weekend I’m thankful to have finished this sweater! A wool-blend Noro yarn and pattern purchased from Etsy. A front post double crochet creates the texture at the top. Noro yarn is a created through a Japanese technique where the yarn fiber is dyed randomly prior to spinning the yarn. When we bought our current house, we were fortunate to gain a wonderful southern facing window with some space at the top of our stairs. The perfect place for some plants!! The plants here are all tree seedlings, ones that I planted from seeds, mostly gleaned from produce I’d purchased. There are two citrus, three apple, one avocado, and one peach here. My frustration with yarn color availability has lead me here. I’m dying yarn. Mixtures of yellow, orange, and red. Three skeins done, 9 to go. In my head, it sounded easy! In actual application, it’s a little more than I thought. But that’s ok, this is another moment to embrace the lesson and refine techniques. The crockpot method is MUCH gentler on the yarn than my previous stovetop efforts.
