Glasses - Wolfstar raising Harry microfic
"I DON'T NEED GLASSES!" Harry wailed as Remus was trying to help him into his coat, "No, Moony, please."
"You'll be able to see so much better, Haz," Remus sighed, "what's this all about, huh?"
"Michael said people who wear glasses are four... four-eyed," Harry sniffled as he hastily scrubbed his eyes.
Remus' heart broke a little. His three year old almost never cried but clearly some little shit at his pre-school was getting into his head.
"I... I don't want them!" Harry yelped again before escaping Remus' hold and immediately running into the wall.
"Well with glasses, you would have spotted the door, but all right," Remus chuckled to himself.
"I can help! I can help!" Sirius ran into the room holding something in his hands.
Remus sighed again, "well this oughta be good."
"Harry look at this," Sirius held out a photograph right in front of Harry's face. Harry was still a bit dazed from the run in with the wall but took the photo and squinted to see it properly.
"That's your dad, James. Look, he's wearing glasses in every single one of these pictures and he's pulling them off, don't you think? Of course these are quite old styled ones and we will get you a pair that is so much cooler."
Remus smiled at his husband. Harry absolutely adored stories of his parents and, while he didn't remember them, he wanted to be like the versions he heard in every way possible.
"James wore glasses?" he hesitantly asked, looking up to Sirius.
"For as long as I'd known him. The girls really loved them. Your mum was a big fan," Sirius wiggled his eyebrows.
"He's three, Sirius," Remus reminded him.
"Think about how much easier it will be to read your books! How clearer the cartoons will be on the telewision."
"Television," Remus and Harry corrected him, simultaneously.
"Right, exactly. So, shall we go?" Sirius smiled.
Harry screwed up his face as he thought. "Fine," he finally huffed as he allowed himself to be ushered out of the house.
Later, Harry was holding onto Remus' hand and happily lapping at an ice cream cone in Diagon Alley. Remus noticed his eyes darting around joyously behind his brand new frames. Clearly he was enjoying seeing the world more clearly than before.
Remus looked around for Sirius only to spot him squinting, peering intensely at a sign placed in front of Florish and Blotts.
"Maybe we need to go back and get your eyes checked too, Pads? You've been squinting at things a lot lately," Remus tutted.
Sirius looked absolutely affronted.
