Red Sith on bathing

Today’s worldbuilding headcanon: 

Since Korriban is cold and dry as all get out, dunking your entire body in water wouldn’t be a practical bathing solution, and neither would stripping down and scrubbing with water either, since you’d air dry and get a cold. A lot of cultures on earth that live in places impractical for water baths have saunas as a way to get clean. However this also wouldn’t work since I subscribe to @fluffynexu‘s hot takes on Sith biology, and her worldbuilding has heat being very dangerous to Red Sith, with death by heat-stroke being a very real risk. 

The thing-to-do for Red Sith, even on Dromund Kaas during the height of the Empire, is mineral baths. By which I mean using sand or other rough minerals to scrub the dead skin and oil off the body. By the time Red Sith are at the top of the Imperial food chain, this has become super gentrified, with bath salts and perfumed sands and all sorts of other minerals designed to leave the skin soft and smelling like a flower garden.

Some fun pureblood biology headcanons: - Force Lightning users sometimes get staticky when they’re excited or angry - Those little ridges are vestigial fins used to regulate temperature during the hot summers that used to occur on prehistoric Korriban. They get the Sith equivalent of “goosebumps” when their ridges flare up in the heat - Sith babies purr when they are content. For adults it is less common and seen as immature, but to most aliens it’s ridiculously cute - Sith have two livers and as a result can drink most other species under the table - Forked tongues are rare but seen as attractive. Some eccentrics undergo surgery to get the “perfect split” - Sith have a tapetum lucidum (reflective animal eye). Some Sith don’t like taking pictures with the flash enabled for this reason. - Some less common sugars have a mild hallucinogenic effect on Sith. It’s sometimes known as a “sugar rush”, but it differs from the human definition. - Sith have semi-retractable “claws”. However, they can typically only extend them a few millimeters. - Sith are basically lizard cats - Knocking things off of desks and licking random bugs are common impulses - Hate Water So Muhchhhch…..it bad

Actually it’s been a long time I didn’t draw any SWTOR NPC, I kinda miss it ! I had another request with Quinn (wow such popularity !) but I’m probably not going to make both. I try to stick with doing each palette just once (to try to do as many as possible !) and each asked character only once too (unless I’m inspired of course !) so don’t me mad u3u I just hope this one Quinn offering will please you both anons !

I like to think that while almost all Zabraks receive their facial markings as pre-teens in a rite of passage, as canon dictates, they add others throughout their lives. Like they’re earning their stripes over the years, slowly covering their body with more and more patterns. And that makes me think of so many possibilities:

- Mandalorian Zabraks whose bodies are covered with art from both their cultures - the geometric Zabrak patterns woven through with Mandalorian heraldry, short phrases in Mando’a, silhouettes of beasts they’ve hunted and slain.

- Zabrak Jedi, waiting until they’re Padawans before they get their facial tattoos, and then adding more for the other great achievements of their lives - when they’re knighted, when they take on their first Padawan, when they become a Master, so they can never forget what a responsibility they’re taking on, it’s written on their bodies.

- Zabrak Sith whose tattoos are traditional Zabrak patterns but in Sith inks, so that their skin is marked in crimson and purple that gives off a metallic sheen when light falls on it, so that when they’re in combat and the lightsabres are flashing they look utterly ethereal.

- Zabrak smugglers who turn up in the tattoo parlours every few years, all wit and charm and laughter, but who describe the new designs they want with complete seriousness, because there are some traditions that never stop having meaning, though you’ve left everything to live among the stars.

- Zabraks who add new markings when they get married, when they have children, when they lose someone, until they’re elders with no room left on their skin. Who’ll sit down with friends and family and discuss the meaning of each tattoo by a fire, who’ll lie beside their lovers of so many decades and trace each other’s markings, celebrating all this beautiful proof that they’ve lived.

Just… Zabrak tattoos. That is all.
