Yeah, very much so- Aspic basically is a massive, hive minded organism that can continually expand, duplicate, and take over wherever they're at provided they can procure enough organic material. The only reason they don't cause a "grey goo" apocalypse is because they actively choose not to because of the idea of boredom.

Depending on the setting/planet/AU they might find themselves in, the residents there might know the actual danger and threat Aspic presents and would contain or destroy every fragment they can.
