it takes everything in shuichi’s power not to completely snap. it would be so easy. an elbow to takami’s gut, a blade pulled from his sleeve sunk into his arm or his shoulder or his chest, and maybe that would be the lesson needed —
the league doesn’t undervalue him. they don’t. or at least tomura doesn’t, and he’s the only one who really matters. he’s far from the favorite, and he knows he’s not useful like toga or twice or compress. but that doesn’t matter. he still feels like he can be himself around them. they don’t judge him for his appearance, for his lack of abilities. they see him as a person not the lizard freak.
and takami is too new. he doesn’t know shuichi like the others.
and the question is innocent enough, he supposes. his tail is clearly in a state of regrowth, and though the incident had happened before takami’s arrival, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out what happened, at least one some level.
shuichi takes a few breaths, trying to calm the wild look in his eyes. his expression shifts from a piercing glare that would be deadly if looks could kill into an unamused frown.
“ why would i know somethin’ like that, huh ? ” because he asked about ‘ all lizards ’ and contrary to what everyone seems to think, he’s no reptilian expert. “ i ain’t a fucking lizard. ”
his appearance would suggest otherwise, but it’s evident that he takes offense to the classification all the same. “ mine takes around six months. ” he crosses his arms. “ and don’t even think about it. you’d be dead where you stand. ”
