I went to the first part of the Yoi marathon this Friday and got this lovely Yuuri clear poster! And of course I got to see the Ice Adolescence teaser, so let me describe here how I recall it.

Fair note: During the screening I hadn’t slept for over 24 hours and I was exhausted and when the teaser began adrenaline was pumping through my veins and my heart was beating so hard I could barely focus, but that’s why I’m saying this is how I recall this teaser, since I can’t guarantee this is a 1:1 accurate description. Nonetheless I’m quite confident of most parts, and you’ll be able to fact check me once the footage is available for everyone, so even if I’m not exactly on the money, it should be fine haha.

Okay, so:

Black screen, rising music starts playing, Japanese text in white and English text in red underneath, saying something like “Everything has a beginning” and then something about being 17 years old at the Olympics. Cut to the rink and Victor, we get a panning shot in motion of his skates, blades still silver at this point I think, then cut aways to more black screens with people’s names like “Director Sayo Yamamoto” and “Screenplay and character design by Mitsuro Kubo” again both English and Japanese. We see Victor travel a certain distance on the rink, then a cutaway to a birdsview shot of a city, which I initially thought was St Petersburg but everyone seems to be seeing different things - it seems that it’s most likely Paris? Cut back to Victor, more panning shots showing him in motion in beautiful fluid animation. His costume did indeed have green in it but I thought I also saw navy blue? It kind of reminded me of some sort of prince’s outfit? Anyway the camera panned up to reveal his face and he had his long hair in a high ponytail and was smiling. And then I think a pan away to reveal the huge cheering audience (cheering reaching the levels of the music, even?) in the large venue and an announcer saying “Representing Russia: Victor Nikiforov” in English.

And that’s about it. I know it sounds really simple but the animation was truly stellar, better than Welcome to the Madness, even though Victor was clearly just getting on the ice before his performance and it made me hyperventilate from the excitement and then quickly proceed to crying, so yeah, safe to say, it’s a really good teaser haha.

I think the Yoi marathon in Japanese cinemas will last til… the 7th of February? Once it’s over, I think they’ll put the teaser up on YouTube stat and maybe even tell us the date of the premier? I hope so, anyway, look forward to it, guys!

so some people who haven’t actually seen yuri on ice are still under the impression that that the kiss scene was the only time victor and yuuri were romantic/affectionate with eachother, hence making it bad rep…. lol that ain’t it chief
