Walking with Dinosuars
Presenting a blast from the past with these lovely socks, courtesy of the Walking On Dinosaurs pattern by Ingrid Carré! In celebration of completing my first ever sock pattern, I just had to pay a visit to my local children's museum in Indianapolis and photograph the pattern's motifs with their real life counterparts in their Dinosphere exhibit.
For those who are interested in knitting these socks, I highly recommend checking how tight your gauge is when you usually complete colorwork! Because of the long colored rows in this sock, you get very little stretch if you use stranded colorwork, especially if you are usually a tighter colorwork knitter. Keeping that in mind, might be worth going up a needle size or adding some columns to the pattern, as the finished sock fit might be tighter than you expect. Sizing issues aside this pattern was a joy to make, a fun challenge, and a great opportunity to queue up your favorite youtube dinosaur deep dives!
Featuring Brachiosaurus, Pterodactyl, Stegosaurus and Tyrannosaurus on the leg, bones and fossils on the foot.
