I heard the depute is having a secret party sometime this week and he hired me and some other girls to spice it up”.

Mikky grinned happily when the other accepted and she would have probably clapped if her movement wasn’t so restricted. “Nice to meet you, Rosie. You can call me Mikky”, she replied. “So tell me about you, it’s not common to meet a woman in the firefighting department, how did you end up there?”

“I think you secretly enjoy it when it comes from certain people”, she replied with a cheeky smile. Mikky softly drummed on her lips with her fingers as she considered her options, deciding to go for something sweet this time. “Oh, sweetheart, we dated enough for me to get to know you”, she commented turning back to him, “but as you please”, she dismissed and approached to the counter. “What are you having, baby? I’m paying this time”.

“Relax, bull, I just love messing with you”, she replied with a soft giggle. She stops abruptly and turns to face a small cozy coffee shop with a wooden door. “We’re here”, she announces and immediately makes her way into the place, pushing the door open and letting the coffee and chocolate scents fill her nostrils. “Are you busy tonight? Are you going out on a date with someone?”, she asked with her eyes scanning the menu on the wall, “if I didn’t know you, I’d say you’re just holding back a lot, JJ. What’s stressing you so much?”

I’ll let your imagination run wild, because I don’t think you’re goin’ to find out anytime soon.’‘ He chuckles to himself as he lowers his head to avoid the eye contact from her, staring down at his feet as he walks. ‘‘How about you? Still causin’ trouble wherever you go?”‘

She squints her eyes as he evades her questions. Nice try, but she’s not giving up so easily. “I definitely will as soon as I get a moment alone in private”, she replied biting her lower lip. At his question, she looked up playfully, as if choosing her words carefully. “That’s right. I’ve been hosting some wild parties at the foundry. You should go to one if you’re around the area. In fact, I would throw a party tonight if that means you’re showing up, baby”, she commented, still piercing her eyes on him.

“If you ask me, I think firefighters have better uniforms”, she opinionated with a shrug, “police uniforms are so... mainstream nowadays”, Mikky added, “however, they should listen, ya’ll are here to protect the citizens and all that, but hey, why don’t you keep me some company? I can buy you a coffee in exchange as soon as I’m free”.
