have you seen ( knox lovelace, she/they )? They look a lot like (h.alsey). The ( 29 ) year old ( former cult member ) is so ( straightforward, adaptable, loyal ) but I heard they can also be really ( impatient, impulsive, destructive ). Can you believe they’ve been in town for ( just arrived )?! They live in the ( the reef trailer court ) neighborhood and kind of remind me of ( desert, kiss mark tattooed on the hip, shades stay on indoors, bleached blonde ). If I was asked, I’d guess that they were ( 9 Lives ) in their yearbook for the class of ( 2015 ).
BIO (cult, parricide, snakes) ↓
From a tight-knit community in sunny California to a cold, chomper-infested island on the East Coast? Sounds like a horrible trade, but did Knox and Petronella Lovelace love how it turned out!
Born to Orion and Ophelia Lovelace – who had abandoned their old identities to start new lives with deeper meaning – Knox was unlucky enough to automatically follow the path chosen by their parents. It was yet to be determined whether they would share the values and truths proclaimed by The Starlight Oasis, and maybe, as an only child, they would have given in. Auron Grail, the cult's charismatic leader, would have become their mentor, and Knox would never question a single word from the wise man. Who knows what turns life would have taken, what choices they would have made?
Knox and their little sister, Petronella, weren't the only children growing up in this community but they certainly stood out in the peace-loving, permanently high community from day one. While most kids caught mice to have a little friend to look after, Knox and Pet needed them as food for their Rattlesnake - Noodles. Things The Starlight Oasis owned were only interesting if the leader deemed them forbidden, which is precisely why the Lovelace siblings came into possession of a VHS copy of The Fifth Element and played it on repeat. They only cared about those pages in books that had been ripped off. Rules only made sense if they could be broken.
Petronella loved chaos as long as it was bloodless (yuck!). Knox didn't mind. If Pet started a sentence, Knox finished it for her - with a punch to a stranger's face, if necessary. Getting their hands dirty was the part of fun Pet wasn't fond of. If there was any yin to yang in chaos, that's precisely what the Lovelace siblings were to each other.
They couldn't stay in the community they hated or they would suffocate. Auron Grail proved a madman could exceed his own expectations and push the limits even further. Orion and Ophelia followed him and his teachings blindly, just like the rest of the group; not a single person ever doubted his words, and to make things even worse? Knox learned that they were the great leader's child and, somehow, it made neutralizing him their priority. A haphazard move that was very on brand for Knox.
For the first time Petronella had to clean up after Knox.
Hi!
I just reached Sacramento. I regretted telling Greenie that I didn't need the bike he had offered me, but guess what I got at a garage sale in Fresno?? It has some kind of motor attached and it's so cool! I'm staying at this nice lady's place I help her at her shop. She asked me where I was going, and when I said I had no idea, she told me about all these places she'd been to and would go back to if she were younger. I think I'll stay here for a few days and pick the next stop.
Until then, kesset kessetba, oua fife vêt!
Knox💋
"Weird," she mused simply as if she herself didn't also fall into that category. Her brow furrowed in concentration as she tried to sort out that mice couldn't be called food for Noodles because it was rude, but cows and pigs and goats and chickens, they were all fair game? Granted mice were cute, small, helpless. But they were also pests and it was nature's food chain for her beloved snake to eat them. Same as it was for humans to eat the rest of those cute, large, useful animals. Petronella might never understand.
Her eyes widened with the suggestion and she pulled out her phone. She always forgot those things did all those things. Knox was always so much better at all that techie stuff. That's why Pet loved the projector so much at Wheels. It was old and ancient. Vintage. And needed a human touch to function properly. "We need one right now," she said with a smile as she pushed the little lens in the corner of her screen. She held up the phone and took a shot of the carnival before turning it around to face them, now smiling at the back of her phone as she smoothed her face next to Knox's to take the unseen selfie.
She hummed in agreement. Starlight was full of assholes. "New friends?" she repeated in both contemplation and inquiry to Knox's new addition. Her lips pursed as she thought about her time in Carroll and as a matter of fact.... "Nope," she said plainly. "Just Small Change," she added - because Penny was technically new in her life, but not new to them anymore. "I guess I'm like the mice for Noods - too weird," she shrugged, though it wasn't for not trying. The people of Carroll just seemed to avoid Pet for some reason.
Looking behind her at the display pies with their decorative crusts, Birch smiled and gave a little nod of her head. "It looks more complicated than it is, mostly it's just like arts 'n crafts 'ta make 'em look like that." Next to watching people enjoy the flavour of her pies, pulling a masterpiece out of the oven was her favourite part about any kind of cooking, from smoking ribs to baking pies. Presentation was a big part of it.
"Them store bought eggs ain't never as good as somethin' free range, you are right 'bout that, Friend." Birch agreed with a nod of her head. "I'm just lucky I got me a real big yard with a real tiny house, so I got all the room in the world for a decent sized chicken coop. I'd let'em run free in the space but I'm pretty sure Wilbur'd drive'em all crazy 'til they started layin' their eggs pre-scrambled."
Knox is surprisingly boring by this meme's standards lol; they need some emotional bond to feel attracted to someone and they want to feel safe and understood. Much as they don't mind sleeping with a friend without developing and romantic attraction, it has to be someone they trust. The sense of security is their kink.
Spicy Secrets: 45 Questions to Bare It All
What’s one fantasy you’ve never told anyone?
It's not really a fantasy and I don't think they're brave enough to even admit it yet, but Knox would love to feel female in an intimate situation without the danger it posed back in the cult. Technically speaking, Knox is still a virgin and they want back those parts of their identity they had to erase in order to protect themselves.
It was time to go back home, nothing good happened to people who overstayed their welcome... But Knox decided that one more drink wouldn't hurt, just to appreciate the decorations, the outfits, and enjoy their transformation for a second longer. Before they settled back into their usual. everyday self. Knox grabbed a bottle and looked around in search of something to open it with...
Petronella?!
Did Claudio or Penny talk her into coming here?! Did that mean that Penny was somewhere, too?
The sight of Knox took his breath away, his eyes on them as they started to approach him. “Wow,” he murmured under his breath. Not by his work, but just by their natural feminine beauty. It seemed strange, he rarely was attracted to anyone beside the same sex. But since his first encounter with Knox, they have been on his mind.
“You look stunning, beautiful.” Theodore reached for their hand and lifted it up to his lips, to kiss the top of it. “Jack is somewhere around here, you’ll have to meet him soon.” He smiled. “Until then, I am all yours.”
"Do I?" Knox chuckled. Two little half-spins in both directions to present the dress, and their laughter only grew brighter with the kiss to their hand. "I feel stunning," they admitted honestly.
It was right there in his eyes, that wonder that Knox had seen whenever Teddy looked at them. He saw something Knox wasn't even aware of, busy being a freak Auron had always deemed them. They didn't change one bit since then, remained as wild and feral as the cult had raised them, and at the same time, everything seemed different when they met Theodore. Damn, Knox really didn't want to cause pain, but it felt so good when they got to stop feeling theirs.
"I-... I don't know if tonight is the right moment, you're his date, and he's yours. I don't wanna step between you and risk ruining anything." Knox wasn't sure if it was fear or reason speaking, or both, but something was telling them that a single move too soon, too far could ruin everything. They knew a thing or two about irreversibility. "You'll enjoy the rest of the night together and won't think about me at all, okay? I just wanted to share a dance."
Claudio let out such a loud gasp, it drew the eyes of multiple people in their vicinity— they didn't care, they were too busy rushing up to Knox after they, quite literally, stole their breath away. "Oh my god, Knox, look at you," their eyes actually watered a bit, with how happy they were for their friend, who looked so drop dead gorgeous tonight.
"May I admire you?!" Taking Knox by the hand so they could spin her one or twice, because Claudio had a physical need to see the shimmering colors in the skirt of this dress. "It's so prettyyyyy," they groaned, "who did this to you?!" This was like, a total makeover to what they were so used to seeing from Knox. "I almost hadn't recognized you, my god," Claudio breathed behind their hands now, unable to fight the smile and excitement over this.
A certain part of them that much happier, to have found some colorful friends. People that were just like them. Only Penny and Petronella were missing. He wished they would have come, too.
"I love this so much.. I just.. I am so— this is beautiful, you're beautiful," they touched the fabric with reverence. "Sorry, let me stop pawing you," they dropped it, holding their hands up like they got caught shoplifting.
Was it a strange-as-fuck feeling to get this kind of attention? Yes. For an extremely feminine, dreamy look? Yes. Did Claudio's praise make them giggle? Also yes.
"Oh, stop it, Claude, it's still me!" They chuckled, but still let Claudio spin them, posed to present their look from every angle possible, and when Knox's eyes met their friend's, they were just as teary. What a magical evening it was...! They wanted to run to the Hawkins couple and thank them for this little push, even if they had no idea who Knox was to begin with.
"Teddy Robshaw! He gave me this makeover and - oh my god, Claudio! - I can't believe it's me! I look as fabulous as you!" Knox took his hands and gave them a happy squeeze. "No, no, no, it's okay! Touch the wig! It feels like my own hair!"
Knox didn't want trouble. They didn't want Jack to be jealous or upset, they didn't want Teddy to be confused, but above everything else, they didn't want this beautiful makeup to go to waste. Theodore Robshaw had outdone himself with this makeover, and Knox had never felt so... feminine. A feeling that once filled them with disgust and fear was now synonymous with beautiful. No, they couldn't tear up right now! They agreed to be friends, and friends keep their promises.
"Claudio said they love my dress, make-up, and hair, and I said you were my stylist for today," they said with pride when Knox finally bumped into Teddy. "To be honest, I don't think anyone has recognized me!"
