I think that being constantly exposed to insanely large numbers of people (ie creators having millions of followers and posts having hundreds of thousands of likes) has desensitized us to a point where seeing “1,000 people like your post” doesn’t have as much as an effect whereas if 1,000 real life people told me I did a good job I think I would die.
