My first attempt at drawing Kaycee:

It is based more on her in-game sprite than on the photo from the files.
In my interpretation, Casey is a depressed failure in her 30s. She didn't manage to become the successful developer or programmer she saw herself as, ended up without a family or close people, and, unfortunately, fell ill with cancer. Her careless attitude toward her own life can be seen in how she continues to smoke, even though she can barely breathe as it is.
– And when I was diagnosed with cancer, all my friends scattered, like I’d already died. Could’ve at least invited me to the funeral.
– My body beat the disease... But I don’t get why. It’s like I lost my excuse to tragically disappear.
Casey is unhappy and lonely. Even when she was offered the job she had dreamed of, it turned out to be a sham. The strange game they were hired to make was creating itself; the developers only had to pretend they were doing something useful... like "actively testing" one of the game's bosses by playing cards with him, for example.
– Y'know, I traded up more than one Squirrel to get my spot here. I was kinda hoping to be the Wolf, not... Mealworm.
