request: how would the scooby gang (plus travis cause i love my blonde son (yes i stole him from his dad)) react to realizing they’ve been neglecting their relationship for months? how would they come to that realization? this may or may not be inspired by that angsty sal fic. sorry if you’re swamped right now but i can’t get this idea out of my head. also a friendly reminder that your stuff is awesome 🙂.
he doesn’t even notice, being busy with ghost and demon hunting
he’s probably been neglecting you for months
for the first few months, you’d drop hints that you felt ignored
after a while you just gave up and stopped hanging around sal
larry was the first to notice
“dude, where’s y/n? it’s weird that they’re not here.”
“i dunno, they stopped coming round a few months ago.”
“isn’t that concerning, sal? they are your s/o after all.”
reality hit sal like a bus that day
he rushed to your house, frantically knocking on the door
it opened to reveal you looking disheveled
he apologized for hours and you accepted it
it was an easy rekindling
y'all were dating before sal arrived
and when he arrived, larry hung out with him more
at first it just seemed like he was being friendly but after a couple months he hadn’t stopped hanging out with sal
you would join them, but just sat in the corner waiting to be included
but everything went to hell on your two year anniversary
you had been planning it for months, and he just ditched you to hang with sal
going to his place where you only find lisa
explaining everything to lisa who is definitely talking to larry
“larry johnson! get here now.”
larry had never felt so guilty in his life
turns up on your doorstep with a tiny cactus
“i’m so sorry for being a prick.”
she had been really busy so you didn’t care at first
but after a few months you felt ignored
ash dismissed any plans or dates
not wanting to seem needy or desperate, you stopped bothering her
after a while, she noticed your lack of presence
“y/n, what the hell? why have you been avoiding me?”
“avoiding you? why have you been ignoring me?”
“i tried my best! i planned dates, and bought you gifts and you dismissed all of it!”
telling her all the things she ignored while she silently cries
cuddling for days to apologize
he was so focused on his tech and researching things that he just forgot
whenever you went over to his house, you’d sit on his bed, just waiting to be noticed
it was sal who told him how ignorant he was being
“i don’t know what you’re talking about, sal. i’m not ignoring them.”
“okay then, what was yesterday?”
he checked his calendar, and sure enough, yesterday had “y/n/n’s birthday” scribbled across it
he’s never run faster in his life
“i’m so sorry! i didn’t even realise and i j-”
“just don’t do it again.”
he had been really stressed lately, with his dad and school and everything
and he had been taking his anger out on sal and the gang
it wasn’t violent, just hurtful words and eventually, neglect
the neglect hurt most of all
it only lasted a month before travis appeared at your window
letting him climb up the ladder you kept there for him
“i’m so sorry! i know the pain of being neglected and i can’t believe i put you through that. i was selfish.”
poor baby boy would do anything to make it up to you
“no, travis, it’s fine. you’ve gone through a lot.”
he just breaks down on the spot
cuddles all night and possibly skipping school the next day for more cuddles
