Maybe I'm getting old, but the state of the internet has been bothering me a lot lately. The fact I can't do anything without getting aggressively advertised to and, if I choose NOT to get advertised to, I inevitably have to fix some code in my ad blocker to keep NOT getting ads.

I hate the fact it's so obvious that my phone spies on me because I keep getting ads about medicines for coworkers' health conditions or things I mention once in passing but never looked up.

I hate the fact that paying my internet bill requires an app that wants me to scan my face every single fucking time to ~prove it's me~ and I really don't have a choice because the alternatives are even more invasive.

I hate that things continue to get more and more dumbed down as time goes on, like stakeholders are out there imagining we're all idiots who need our hand held to do everything from play a video game to turning on a fucking device.

I hate it a lot, and if it wasn't for the friends who live in my phone, I would just snap my phone in half (but not really because now I have to have MEDICAL APPS to make MEDICAL SHIT WORK).
