Heo Nam Jun as Cha Se Gye My Royal Nemesis ‧ 멋진신세계 ‧ 2026
I loved this scene. There was something so lovely about the two of them just looking in eachothers eyes. Heo Namjun and Lim Jiyeon have my heart
Prime Minister Min smh
ALL OVER THE WOMAN HE LOVES!
In his villain arc all because the woman he has loved for years, who he didn't confess to btw, married another man.
Nurse, he's out. Lock him up.
This perfect crown episode was really good. I'm pissed that we only have 12 episodes. I think that we could've had more episodes, at least two more.
SPOILERS AFTER THE CUT
Does the palace not have an emergency sprinkler or something?
This is the modern era, how could they not have renovated and put on sprinklers?
I thought the same thing when Huiju fainted. Like isn't there a palace doctor. Why isn't there an ambulance or a least a basic nursing room at the palace.
Prime Minister Min is the most accurate portrayal of a "Nice Guy" villain I've seen in ages, and I need to talk about it.
I know there are two episodes of Perfect Crown left and maybe there'll be a twist, but he is such a typical man. You know the type. The kind who only befriends a woman when he finds her attractive and sees that friendship as a means to get her into a relationship eventually. Now that Hui-ju is in love, his fragile ego couldn't take it and he had to enter his villain era.
I'm willing to eat my words if it all turns out to be a huge farce – but honestly, a lot of women know this story. We know this kind of man.
Absolutely. It is an honest portrayal of the nice guy. The fact that now that she is with someone she actually likes and is open to having an actual deep connection with someone else; he gets all pissy and shit. Like, Sir, if you actually liked her you would've said something before, but now that she is evolving you want to trap her. F@#$ u!
Perfect Crown spoilers for episodes 9 and 10 bellow the cut
So, I was right! The queen mother did have at the very least a crush on our prince I-An. Hate can only com from love; Either because someone of something hurt someone you love or because someone you loved betrayed you. So the queeen mother is out here projecting her ffustation and resentment on the prince, cause he is free to do whatever she wasn't able to do. She reminds me of Alicent from HoTD. Sister girl, blame your father and leave the rest of them alone.
On another note, our poor little King. The fact that he knows about the argument that their majestiees had before his father died, really brakes my heart. I got teary eyed when he finally confronted the queen mother. The fact that I-An and him had known the whole time about the late king's wishes and that is why they are so close, also broke my heart. These two have been living with this secret and seeing how his mom is trying to separete him from his uncle was probably really confusing for our little King, given the fact that he is someone that has constantly tried to protect him.
I loved seeing I-An's resolve; he is hurt and afraid but this love for Huiji and his nephew are greater then his doubts. I know some people have complained about BWS acting ability but I think that he still has a long way to go, when it comes to his acting. For me personally, he shines the most when he really gets to do more emotional things not so much when he is stoic. However, I think is part of his character. He is supposed to be calm, cool and collected; A prince worthy of being a KIng and not show to much emotion. Also, going back to his childdhood and seeing how bad he was treated every single time he showed his true self by his father, no wonder he is kind of closed of.
These two episodes really gae us a lot to dissect. I'm kind of sad we only have two more episodes but I can't wait for the finale. Didn' like that they spoiled the next episode with the preview at the end.
i wont be caught dead in the bad acting allegations team
Me neither!! Something that I have noticed is that BWS, that maybe could be in the script or is one of his acting choices, is that he holds Hui Ju so delicately; Like she is made out of glass and he is afraid to hurt her by touching her the wrong way 🥹. He knows that the nature of his position is dangerous, so seeing this sequence really broke my heart for the prince, because he feels so guilty that with his proximity to him, he has exposed her like this.
And the thing is that, without BWS being and looking emotionally distraught and sad like this, that part wouldn't land at all.
I think some people perhaps jumped to conclusions because the drama, especially in the beginning focuses so much on his looks and how perfect he is. However, as we spend more time with the characters we get to a little bit more of I-An as a human being not just a pretty prince, and that is precisely the point.
Also, homeboy was a model. I don't complain every time we see him strutting down a hallway looking fabulous because who wouldn't take advantage of that.
Dude, you never even asked her out, but you're gonna sit here crying when she gets married?
This is soo true and infuriating. It's giving some sort of emotional enmeshment bs for sure. To play devil's advocate Hui Ju did tell him when he asked her that why not him, that their union would be too scandalous. But, so far it is clear that he really cared more about saving face, his future political career, more than he cared for her.
The two episodes for this week of the Perfect Crown were really good.
SPOILERS BENEATH THE CUT
Kdramas keep giving me formidable antagonists.
Perfect Crown has me hooked. I love IU and it is my first time watching Byeon Woo Seok as a lead and I do hope he gives us more, because so far it isn't bad but he has yet to wow me.
Now, circling back to my first statement. Gong Seung-yeon, the actress that plays The Queen Mother, is soo good. I can't wait to see more of her scheming. I have a couple of theories about why she hates I-An soo much. So, one of my theories is that I-An was the rightful heir to the throne and maybe the two of them were betrothed or she might have been a prospect or something of the sort. However, for some reason or another, maybe the accident in which the Queen died, the other of succession was changed and she became the Queen to his brother.
I base this on the reaction she had on episode 2, when she saw him just on his robe as she barged into his hotel room. Also, I-An said something about the pregnancy before marriage that made her kind of falter, so maybe the King is not really the son of the late King (I-An's brother).
Anyhow, I am supper intrigued and can't wait for the next two episodes.
just another monday
a lot of the posts i’m seeing on twitter show zero compassion either for mbj and delroy lindo being called a racial slur or for the reality that some symptoms of tourette’s are uncontrollable. both things can exist at the same time.
and yes it may be uncontrollable, but black americans still have the right to feel hurt by a word like that. it’s a strong word with a long, awful history.
also seeing so many accounts (probably burners) trying to fight ableism by being racist… how is that helping this case? and vice versa! some of the things i’ve seen said about this condition today is just plain disgusting
okay. i just think that Black ppl shouldn’t be expected to “gracefully” handle being called racial slurs to accommodate anyone. in a moment meant to be a celebration of their accomplishments at an awards show with a history of racism & exclusion no less. words have effect regardless of intent, it doesn’t magically negate harm. and had michael & delroy reacted differently they would not be given the same understanding.
Materialists
Okay sooo no. This movie made me sooo angry and sad. We are going to go straight into the meat of things because I can't be bothered with a synopsis. Spoilers after the cut
