Fanfiction Idea : JJK MODULO (Yuka x Cross) (Feel free to use)
Canon Divergence from chapter 12: Yakumaru's (The Trash can's) bullet was blocked before it could do any actual damage to Cross....
Though Simurians are enraged nonetheless as the shot was indeed fired targetting Cross, especially the radical, pro-war, pro-invasion Osuki and his companions..... Even after Cross explains to them that Cursed spirits on earth are different from Kalyans at their Home world and that they aren't as noble and heavenly.... The fact remains that the shot was fired....
Yakumaru's severely punished..... That still doesn't help much..
Negotiations have become super strained and Jujutsu society isn't prepared to go to war at the current stage.... Jabaloma, Cross, Usami and Mino are brainstorming on how to keep the fragile peace they witnessed during the Cultural exchange... But not really reaching a conclusion.... Tired Mino muses "You know, I wish we lived an older era where the problems could be solved with a political marriage or something...." Cross asks "Political marriage?".....Mino answers "Yeah, sometimes in the mediaeval period political marriages happened to keep the peace like if a country A wanted peace with B they would send their princess to be wedded to the King or the prince of country B or vice versa in order to form an alliance...." As Mino was explaining this to Cross, Jabaloma and Usami locked eyes as they remembered the interaction between Kyoko and Dabura during the Cultural exchange....So, they are like "Do you think it'll work..." "I don't know.... It might?" "I'll talk with the Higher ups and the concerned party from our side...." "I'll try to propose this motion in our next meeting".... Cross and Mino are a bit confused like "Hang on, what are you two talking about?" And the tell them about the proposal.....Mino sighs "Miyaguni san is gonna have a way too much fun with this..."
Tsurugi and Maru are having a conversation where Tsurugi apologises for what happened during the inspection Maru is a bit cold at first cuz obviously he would be angry that his twin was attacked despite his continuous efforts for co-existence..... But they make up as they start bad mouthing Yakumaru (Yes, I hate Yakumaru with passion you could say I hate him as much as Naoya).... Maru is amused to see Tsurugi hate someone like this so he voices his amusement only to be shocked by Tsurugi's answer: Yakumaru and his family have been repeatedly sending marriage proposals to Gojo clan to let him marry Yuka (Princess of Gojo clan (considering she carries blood of yuta and Maki she's got a golden bloodline you could say)....) which Gojo clan has been vehemently denying with a clear stance especially with strong opposition from Tsurugi and their mother and their Grandparents when they were alive especially Granny Maki....this information has been kept secret from Yuka ofcourse....
Maru asks "does Yuka likes this Yak...."
Tsurugi cuts off "She thinks he's a creepy idiot who has bullets for brain cells...."
Seeing the dark aura Tsurugi as he talked about it made Maru gulp subconsciously... He then let out an amused huff "I never took you for a super protective brother for whom no man is good enough type.... Especially given how you two always fight..."
"She's my little sister no matter what... And she took after Grandpa the most... so, she's bound to marry for love like Grandpa and Granny....and I promised Granny to keep the pests away from the family...So, yeah Yuka will never be getting married" This discussion stopped with this and Maru asked his gods to bless the poor soul that ends up falling for Okkotsu Yuka..... (Little did they know......)
Meanwhile Cross meets Yuka on the terrace...
"So.... How is everything with the negotiations?" Yuka asked as they both looked at the setting sun...
Yuka was getting worse by the day and sometimes when she's overexerted she would start to have spotted vision... So, she has decided to do everything she can to enjoy her final days... Watching the beautiful sunrise, hearing birds chirp in the morning as if getting ready for the day, the setting sun in front of her and all the other things she used to take for granted... Cross had said to her that now that she knows she is gonna die her heart won't be moved by anything anymore as she knows she doesn't have time with her but he couldn't have been more wrong.... This setting sun she was watching with him at this moment moved her heart, the prank she pulled on her brother yesterday just to make him chase her all over the clan compound just to end up getting scolded by their mother moved her heart and so did the dream she saw today of Grandpa and Granny where she was a child again riding on her Grandpa's shoulders....So, to sum it all up she was determined to live her remaining life feeling as fulfilled as possible... And so, she wished to see the Humans and Simurians coexisting with peace... It seemed plausible to her based on all she had seen till now.... Well, until Yakumaru decided to donate his Braincells for pocket change...
Cross told her what had transpired during the discussion and how this concept of political marriage was not something that felt right to him....
Yuka surprised by this asks "Why is that?"
Cross answers " It's barbaric....It disregards the purity of sacred marital bonding that shouldn't be tied to political agendas and hidden motives.... I tried to voice my reluctance but Jabaloma thinks that over priority should be peace rn.... It's amusing how peace can only be achieved after treating individuals as livestock to be traded... It's unfair to place such a burden on anyone..."
"Tho it may not have been a very great circumstances, Kyoko san sure seemed to have fallen in love at first sight with Dabura san ... So, I think she will be overjoyed.... And Dabura san, Did you see the way he looked at her?...." Turning back to the sunset "So, if my hunch is correct and they love each.... Or maybe if they can find an understanding.... Then maybe it's not a burden but a chance..."
"How do you know that?"
"Call it a woman's intuition...."
They stayed like that in silence for a while as Cross studied her features it seemed so cruel and unfair to him that someone with so much life in their eyes and hope in their voice had been dealt with such a cruel hand by fate ... The day he had found out about her illness, she had shifted his entire world on its axis....
She was the purest person he had ever known.... Who even after being handed the cruelest card by fate thought about other people's chance at happiness.... He adored her.... And what terrified him was how much....But more than adoration was the respect he carried for her.... She was a Brave girl and she hated being pitied which was the reason she hadn't told her family about it and there was no way that he would ever disrespect her by pitying even if it were in his mind....
"And you?" Cross asked, his voice softer than he intended. "How would you feel? If you were forced into such an arrangement?"
Yuka hummed, kicking her feet slightly. "If it saved people? If it stopped the fighting? I think I'd be okay with it. Especially if..." She trailed off, shrugging. "Grandpa Yuta followed Granny Maki even into death. That’s the kind of love that runs in my blood. If I had that... the politics wouldn't matter. " She paused "Tho my Granny Maki hated this kind of thing so forget about negotiations if she had heard that we were thinking about something like that she would snapped and last time Granny Maki had truly snapped a clan ceased to exist...but that's the story for another day..." She said the last part with such an easy expression as if she was talking about a child's play not a Massacre....
"Is there really no other way?" Cross asked, the desperation leaking into his tone. He wasn't talking about the war anymore.
Yuka knew what he meant. She tapped the side of her head. "RCT can't fix something that complicated, Cross. And medicine has its limits. We have to play the hand we're dealt."
She stood up, dusting off her skirt. "Anyway, the sun's gone. We should head back."
"It is time for your medication," Cross said automatically, he had seen the schedule her doctor had given her and just like everything about her it stuck with him....
She stepped down from the ledge, but as her foot hit the gravel, her leg buckled. A sudden wave of vertigo—a symptom of the tumor—washed over her.
"Yuka!"
Cross moved before she even hit the ground. He caught her, his arm sweeping around her waist, pulling her flush against his chest to stabilize her.
For a moment, the world stopped.
She was light. Too light. He could feel the rapid thrum of her heart against his chest—or maybe that was his own. Her hands were clutching the fabric of his robe, her breathing shallow.
"Be careful," Cross whispered, his voice trembling slightly. He didn't let go. He didn't want to let go.
Yuka looked up at him. Her face was flushed, her heart hammering against her ribs like a trapped bird. "I... yeah. Thanks, Cross."
He slowly steadied her, his hand lingering on her arm for a second longer than necessary before pulling away. The distance between them felt cold.
Later.....
The meeting at Naunax occurs and Simurians oppose the proposition saying it should be a Simurian instead of Dabura who despite being a leader is a Deskunte warrior...so it doesn't mean much to Simurians if they are marrying him for peace treaty....And if they are indeed going for a political marriage then the bride should be someone who is valuable to jujutsu society...They don't mind if Dabura married that cook on his own accord but if it is for maintaining peace the bride should be someone valuable....
So, The marriage will happen with a Simurian warrior not a Deskunte outsider....(they'll select Cross as he was the one Yakumaru shot at)
One of the Osuki's friend who was present during Cultural exchange suggested a name that fits the bill: Okkotsu Yuka of the Gojo clan.....
This is all guys, I really hope someone writes a fanfiction based on this..... I love this pair and would love it if someone took this up....
