Anyway I said this on twitter already but a darker and edgier scooby doo prequel show already existed, and it already had plot twists and jokes that would be funny to an adult. It was called Mystery Inc. and it tied the scooby doo show formula into a plot about cosmic entities manipulating reality.
It still had almost all the monsters turn out to be either humans in complex disguises or advanced animatronic robots and that still connected to the nature of its one real monster, it was clever as heck
