Hero (2002) This is an important one to cover because most have either never heard of or completely forgot about it as it's early 00s release coincided with big box office players like lord of the rings, harry potter, and men in black II (lol). Jet Li stars as an assassin slayer recounting his kills of three notorious ninjas that attempt to murder the King of Qin in ancient China. I’m sure most of you are thinking Jet Li=kung fu flick but please trust me when I say this is so much more than that. Picturesque scenes saturated in vibrant layered hues carry multidimensional plots that play like a lucid dream. Zhang Ziyi (crouching tiger hidden dragon, memoirs of a geisha) & Maggie Cheung (in the mood for love, 2046) co-star & effortlessly dance a ballet of strength and grace in acting and martial arts. Each frame could be in a gallery (or magazine) with ingenious use of techniques and tones. There is not one bad angle in the entire thing. Worth a watch if you enjoy art, Wuxia, and styling. There’s def a reason this became the first Chinese language movie to top the american box office. 4 stars. . . . . . #koolschmoolrevue #schmoovierevue #moviereview #jetli #whattowatch #hbo #hbomax #nowstreaming #wuxia #movienight #movieaddict #filmreview #filmisnotdead #movielover #moviebuff #movieblogger #movieblog #ZhangZiyi #maggiecheung #hero #moviefacts #moviemaking #filmcommunity #filmbuff #kungfumovies #filmlover #moviestowatch #iconicmovies (at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) https://www.instagram.com/p/CLsD-3Vj1Rc/?igshid=1wrv8jsjfxkjf
