"goddess" You are Aphrodite but you are not Aphrodite alone Raised above shoulders on the pedestal her lonely throne You are Hera, faithful and fiery, q nurturing mother Begin to ignore the 'opinion-made rules' that you should look like another You are Artemis the archer, lover of fauna, animals of all kinds You don't have to fit into the definitions defined by narrow minds You are Athena, wonderfully wise, full of intellect Rise above the primitive hearts that refuse to connect You are Hestia, warm and welcoming to all Your standards are not designed by those allowing theirs to fall You are all wonderful women existing on a spectrum, our myths tell us so Relinquish your faith in the false god-please, let her go "For she does not exist" Aphrodite often laments In search of wholeness in hopeful consents Finding there is nothing to be found but an apparation The ghost of self-worth, hollow validation Let each woman be represented, free from scorn Empowered with choice, freely born Every woman a unique goddess in her own powerful right Undeify the gaze that subjugates the female form with its sight Such cheap worship is beneath you, you are deserving of true love Don't let titans decieve you to Hades when your pantheon is above ©reubenoftherhyme ________________________________ Loved this poem? If I Could Not You Would My mind may be of a slow speed but the concept of your existence makes my mind race, It puzzles over mosaic pieces of your attributes at the quickest pace. I may not be able to see you but it is you in my dreams I envision For between you and true beauty there is no clear division. My nose does fail me but not when you are near Your scent dissipates every stench and makes breathing clear. I may be dumb but you still steal away my words and weave them into things I can’t express, Though surely dumb as I am, I stand speechless I confess. My ears may not hear the sound of your voice but you hear the sound of my heart, You whisper for my ears only and speak to me with graciousness and an art. My legs are all but spent but you run to me through fields of fire, My heart you strengthen and my weak legs you inspire. "The Cuccoon" The hours multiplied as all that I was began to decrease Silence swallowed whole, the noise of my mind and with the world I began to make peace To feel closer to those gone than those still here Life, an exercise in futility, death I no longer fear Except I could not fall off the edge, no way off the ball I could not invite myself into His arms, my name He did not call There is no end of the line to reach in a circle And so instead of dying I lived -the ultimate miracle But with this life I filled the circle with darkness with the intention to dive And the abuse of life spawned a punishment I wouldn't survive Drowning in guilt, blood on each hurt inflicting hand Multiplied pangs that only punctured hearts can understand Enveloped by shroud, wrapped in pain and confusion The loss of clarity giving way to concrete illusion Solidifying around me as a suffocating second skin A claustrophobic Cuccoon; calcified sin And so began a humbling end Past ways I could not defend Hurt and harm punishable by death A new life offered to me by your breath So I died to it all and watched as life as I knew it faded Death and his company rejoiced and paraded The Cuccoon shrivelled and it's content passed away Dead to the world, decadent decay Then out of the Cuccoon I broke free,fresh, new The Cuccoons cage I had outgrew Embracing potential, revealing, becoming more A new chapter in my history, positive lore ________________________________PLEASE comment🗣️, like 👍🏿(or not😂)and share↗️.
