Look man i cant force anyone to like gar, i can understand why you would, especially certain versions of him... But can you PLEASE stop putting hate directly in the tag ???? Or at least tag it so i can blacklist it??? like just for any character really its just basic like... Tag etiquette to not tag character hate with that character's name so fans dont have to deal with seeing it all the time ..

Literally like im SO SURE ppl js do it because hes not pretty like dick or raven so he can be hated. All times i see hate on him, atleast once i see something about his looks 💔 like bby thats okay to just say ur after characters that are typically hot. But if ur gonna excuse like actions of hal jordan „because it got retconed” or raven, or dick, or bart. Like stfu at this point. But thats also fault of creators now since they do mostly make him just… like i feel thats just not the character he was in 60s

I mean thats some of it, people are weird about his appearance or at least throw that out along with their other criticisms, but i do think plenty of ppl have good enough reason not to like him (his behavior towards women in the NTT era is a great example) or to find him annoying, to be honest he was written to be kinda shitty and annoying like... For the last 30+ years, at least on the surface, i think the real thing is that ppl dont care about anything BEYOND the surface so they dont rlly get what his character has always been about... But again i cannot make someone care. I couldnt care less about so many fantastic characters out there just bc they dont personally spark joy in me, and ive bees obsessing over this green elf for quite literally 20 years, so i KNOW all the things that make him an interesting character by heart...

But yeah regardless of why you dislike a character, if youre throwing in "and hes ugly too!!!" Into your argument you've kinda just automatically lost the fight. Like especially a character who has always been dehumanized, othered, and abused for being different??? Like sorry buddy you have lost any respect i might have had for your opinions now!!! Like i dont care if ppl dislike him, i have trusted mutuals who are not fans, but they respect my POV and i respect theirs!!! It is really not hard to be like, chill and normal about a character you dislike.

I get you what you mean 😭 i am not garfield logan glazer lowkey i cannot call myself that (as someone who just loves Bette Kane more (so my takes can be totally wrong lowkey)) but his antis on twitter (i am not calling that app X) are so annoying, i get not liking his personality in 80s etc what i DO NOT get is when ppl use it just to hate on his looks (which i saw too many times) and when „more attractive” character does ANYTGING BAD it just gets ignored. If gar is just in slightest shown he gets hate… (tho it is more on twitter, tumblr isnt that bad lowkey)

ALSO his character got so down graded too in newer comics, making him a comic relief character is fine idm. But also if you are a comic writer i am expecting you to know the character. And if yk you should know that him being comic relief has more deep to it. My points may be completely off since i havent readen in long time lowkey 😞
