Back to you [korra-pro-bender]
Mako’s eyes widened when he pulled from his grasp, yelling out against him. He’d always known Korra to be a headstrong, confident girl. This was a side Korra never fully revealed to him. Perhaps, behind her confident grin and sassy remarks, was someone in need of saving.
“Korra, you can do this,” He pleaded, careful not to touch her. Clearly, no affection from him would do any good. It would only hurt her more. “You’re the Avatar,” He paused, “But that doesn’t mean you’re not human.”
Mako eyebrows knitted together, confused by her next words. Though her words were small, each other cut into him like someone driving a knife through his chest. “How you ever think that?” The fire bender asked. When he began dating Asami, he hadn’t had Korra in mind, but as they relationship grew, Mako slowly began to realize that he may hold similar feelings for another. He never chose Asami over Korra. Mako would like to tell her she’s beautiful, but looks weren’t the problem here. “Korra, you’re perfect.”
“I don’t want you to be sorry,” He said, letting his eyes meet with hers once more. She had nothing to apologize for. None of this was her fault, if anything it was his. He inflicted this pain upon her. There was war in Republic City. She didn’t need the pain of a broken heart when there was a battle to be won.
“Korra, I may be with Asami, but that doesn’t mean I don’t care about you. I’ll be here if you need me.”
Korra looked down at the floor gently gripping her chest as she fought her sobs back, why has she suddenly become so weak? She was vulnerable and unstable and nothing would help her. Why'd he have to be around right now she just wished he'd walk away. "I'm the Avatar I'm supposed to handle everything right? Then why can't i handle this.." she sighed her head hung low."I'm a failure..."She said softly hiding her face in her knees. She never let any of her emotions hit her till now and they weren't holding back. "Because i know it's true why else would you have picked her in one minute of knowing her.." her voice a harsh whisper. Not meaning to be bitter but it sure came out that way it's not like Mako was ever her's so she had no right to claim him or anything. Before she ever had a chance she lost him within days af falling for him."You're lying..." she sighed looking up wiping her damp eyes before slowly pushing herself back up. "Not in the way i need you here for me Mako.." she said turning away from him crossing her arms over her chest. "Not in the way i need you.." she whispered under her breath before starting to walk away from him yet again.
