12. Tony having a party every time after a mission. Everyone ends up trying to lift thor's hammer and reader turns out to be worthy.

Am I the only one who never liked using "Y/N" in fanfics?

I mean, I know it literally stands for "Your Name" but IDK IT ALWAYS BROKE THE IMMERSION FOR ME😭 So me, I found ways to write around it.

"He passed Y/N the cup." ❌️

"He passed you the cup." ✅️

Another example being...

"I did it because I love you, Y/N" ❌️

"It was always you. Everything was for you. My heart, belongs to you."✅️

This is not me saying this is THE RIGHT WAY to write fanfics. This is just my opinion, and writing style.

like seriously, what’s the point of the reader insert tag if the reader isn’t even inserted? a tag meant for readers where readers aren’t included, give me a break. and on ao3 it’s getting even worse.

these oc writers seriously need to get some shame, my god.

you have HUNDREDS of tags to use, and you choose the one that’s meant to insert and include as many readers as possible so they can feel represented.

a scorpion, not knowing how to swim, asks a frog to carry it across the river. almost immediately after departure it stings the frog and the frog goes "lol joke's on you i'm immune to your venom. you are now my prisoner btw. hope you like water because we're gonna be seeing a lot of it for the foreseeable future" and the scorpion says "you know being aquatic doesn't sound half bad now that you mention it"

when the pair are halfway across the river, the scorpion says "jesus fucking christ i didn't realize how scary fish were when you were in the water with them- STOP SWIMMING DIRECTLY AT IT" and the frog says "oh damn you're right i can do that. i've literally never thought of that before"

a scorpion wakes up on a frog's back, in the middle of the river. the frog explains that the scorpion requested a ride across the river, and it's complying. the scorpion, not remembering and distrusting this stranger's words, puts its stinger's tip against its neck.

the frog immediately turns spiteful. "you think you have any say here?" it warns in a voice more venomous than the scorpion's sting. "no. your poison is harmless to me. i know you're smart, so here's what you're going to do. you're going to sit very still on my back, and do exactly what i say. if you don't—if you try to get away—if you try to hurt me—if you fail to guide us true—i will dive. and you will drown, cold and alone, and it'll be nobody's fault but your own. do you understand?"

the scorpion, now realizing how very trapped it is, longs for the safety of a stronger venom.

#the frog and scorpion eventually part ways because the frog is going to die so it nobly takes the scorpion to shore before being swept#away by the currents. the scorpion mourns the frog and chills with the second scorpion the frog took captive on its back for a bit#then like a week later the frog shows up alive somehow and tells the scorpion he's so happy that the scorpion is free and whole on dry land#the scorpion pretends it fine with this arrangement for five seconds before admittedly tearfully it will gladly live the rest of its life#on the frog's back in the dangerous river and quite frankly it prefers the river to the land anyways#does the frog mind carrying the scorpion on its back forever and always?#then the frog and scorpion make out while the owl just chilling in the background contemplates eating them both#the second scorpion meanwhile is just glad the first scorpion is no longer moping because that shit was depressing and annoying#also a neglect free-range child with poor emotional regulation and empathy is about to dump toxic waste in the river (via @thecoolestcurator)
