2015.11.06 AD - Of chikuwa and coincidences.
[BGM V6âs âBeat your Heartâ] Good morning. This is Arashiâs Ohno Satoshi. Every Friday I respond to the messages received on this show. First up is one from Nagomi-san of Yokohama. âOhno-kun, good day. The other day, Nino mentioned on his radio show that when you were young, if he wasnât mistaken, you appeared in V6âs PVs. What songs did you appear in? Please tell us.â Ahh. I only appeared once. It was probably, um, the song called âBeat Your Heartâ. I think Sho-kun might have been in it as well. But I donât really have any memories of dancing in it. Like, um, we were blowing trumpets, roughly three of us. We were acting as a trumpet trio. Like thereâs the trumpet sounds in the background, right? That was the three of us playing the trumpets while moving from left to right. If a single one of us made a mistake, itâd clash like anything. If just a single person made a mistake. So I still have memories of whenever anyone made a mistake. (laughs) But they probably know. The people who know would know, I think. So yeah, we did appear. Only for a moment, though, really. Yeah. Thatâs probably what they said. [BGM âAkatsukiâ] Next, from Sayuri-san of Chiba. âSatoshi-kun, good morning. This time, along with our company-wide changes, my manager is, unbelievably, going to be a a foreigner. Which means Iâll have to use English for communication. Iâve never had any experience using English at work before so Iâve resolved to start taking English conversation classes. With sweaty armpits, sweaty hands and a cold sweat, Iâm focusing hard on it. Please give me a word of encouragement.â Fight! (laughs) Like youâre boxing or something. Well, if it really works, thatâs great, isnât it? Itâd be like youâve turned into a foreigner. Doing it would be more enjoyable than not. Itâd be kinda like youâre doing impressions of people. Well, it might be kinda embarrassing, but at least that way youâd be able to communicate, right? So on that note⊠Fight! Next, from Awawa-san. âOhno-kun, good morning. I always enjoy listening to your radio show. The other day, when I heard you mention how someone had dropped a chikuwa and handed it to the reception at the city hall, I was really deeply moved.â (laughs) âIt was because previously, when I was working at a bank, someone had dropped a chikuwa at an ATM.â (Seriously??) âIt was probably when they were operating the screen at the ATM, they put it down on the ATM and just forgot about it. I wonder if chikuwa are just easy to leave behind? It was a single tube sealed in a pack; it was a splendid chikuwa specimen. It was still before the best-before date, but on that day itself nobody took it. Whether someone ended up eating it or throwing it away is still disputed.â Heh, thatâs kinda⊠Itâs like a chikuwa legend, huh? (laughs) Do people really lose their chikuwa that often? I kinda want that to become like an urban legend. (laughs) Well, thatâs right⊠Chikuwa are surprisingly that, right? They inhabit the sea. There are creatures that emit a great light, but we catch them and put them into a chikuwa. Like, Nino⊠Ninoâs done that. (laughs)  Next, from Yuku-Yuku-san. â'Kokoro no Soraâ is really cool! Also, I just happened to notice but the 'Japonismâ spelling is comprised of 'AMNOSâ and 'Iâ and 'JPâ. In short, itâs that, right? The five of you in Arashi and me and Japan.â Thatâs the best thing ever, huh? This 'AMNOSâ is made from the initials of my name and the other Arashi members. I think that was just a coincidence. Mm. Man, certainly⊠So thereâs something like that, huh? It wasnât planned. Mm. That was just a coincidence. Man, if we said this at a concert, thatâd probably liven things up. Like, âThe five of us and you here in Japan!â Like that, right? Thatâs great! But I think Iâd forget it immediately. (laughs) Itâs just a coincidence. Weâll do our best at the concert! Next, from Hirono-san. âOh-chan, good morning. The other day, while I was talking to my friend, they said, 'Ey ey Oh-chan!â The sound was really cute and both my friend and I have gotten hooked on saying it. And then my friend was like, since itâs cute, weâd like Oh-chan to say it too. I can also imagine such a cute Oh-chan and Iâd really like to hear it. So that all the people listening to the radio can do their all day best today, please say, 'Ey ey Oh-chan!ââ Man⊠(laughs) Iâve already said it twice! Should I say it in a cute way? Right. Ey ey Oh-chan! A little cuter⊠Ey ey Oh-chan! âŠMy managerâs laughing at me. (laughs) And so with that, the weekly Friday messages have been answered. Iâll be awaiting your mail. The address is [email protected]. Iâll be waiting for you to send me lots of messages. See you next week; this was Ohno Satoshi! ââ

2015.11.02 AD - With sunshine in your heart.
Good morning. This is Arashiâs Ohno Satoshi. Hereâs todayâs thought of the day; come on! âWith sunshine in your heart With a song on your lipsâ[1] [BGM âAkatsukiâ] Ahh⊠Thatâs great. This is a quote by German poet CĂ€sar Flaischlen-san. This was sent in by listener Kao-san. The message reads: âSatoshi-kun, good morning. This quote was something that my homeroom teacher in 4th grade taught us when the teacher was leaving us. The teacher had this written on pieces of wood and gave it to every single one of us. I really love this quote. At times when thereâs so much going on and I lose sight of whatâs happening around me, I always remember this and suddenly burst into song. Stay calm! Iâd tell myself. That said, it can be pretty tough and there are plenty of times where I couldnât reflect on things. Satoshi-kun, have there been any words from your teachers or close friends that left an impression on you?â Ohh. There has been. When I was a 4th grader, I⊠(laughs) I could do addition and multiplication pretty instantly. Itâs just that I couldnât seem to do subtraction and division. I was just really bad at it no matter what I did. So right, when I was in 4th grade in elementary school, I couldnât do division. So I had one-on-one classes after school with the teacher. Like the teacher would be passionately teaching me. And then finally I think I managed to solve one problem or something? No, it was before I solved it. And then I remember I started crying out loud because I couldnât do it. And then⊠And then the teacher taught me how and then I could solve it. So then I remembered the teacher started crying, too. Well, Iâd been really poor at it up until that moment. But after those after-school classes, I never forgot that. And then looking at my results, I went up by a grade. Mm. So like, folks, if you cry out loud, (laughs) your grades will go up. (laughs) âŠThatâs not how it works! But I remember that. I wanted to remember it but it was also frustrating. Mm. Like I rarely get so frustrated that I end up in tears. Well, more like pretty much never, right? But well, that happened, way back in the past. Yeah. So I hate math, but there was a time I liked it. So like, I wanted to like math. Well, Iâd avoided contact with it now, in various senses. Or rather, if it were something that could be taught, well, it couldnât be taught. Itâd be something we had to study together. But well, if you donât do that sort of thing and you gradually stop using your brains, thatâs no good. We never really faced that in the past either, right? Thatâs no good either. So without facing computers or word processing programs or anything⊠An abacus! (laughs) Thatâs completely different. (laughs) Abacuses! Like one yen, two yen⊠How does that go again? Iâd probably be working it upside down. Thatâs the sort of person I am. Maybe I should try using an abacus again, after so long. Do they still sell them? Where do they sell them, I wonder? I think Iâll go and have a look. (laughs) Thatâs all; this was Ohno Satoshi! ââ [1] Translation from the German here.
2015.10.14 AD - Of feels, fears and flying.
Good morning. This is Arashiâs Ohno Satoshi. [BGM âHappinessâ] This week, weâre changing the contents a little from the usual. Along with all the mail received from all the listeners, weâll be recapping over the concerts that took place last month, ARASHI BLAST in Miyagi, for the whole week. So on that note, without any delay, Iâll read the mail. First up is one from Mimu-san. âSatoshi-kun, good morning. I attended the Miyagi concert on the 20th. It was my birthday on that day, so it was an especially moving live for me.â (Ah. Happy birthday!) âRight, so when I checked my smartphone, one of the messages I received was from my house-sitting husband who wrote, 'Happy birthday. Please take care on your way homeâ. The message was received at the time of my birth, 19:33. That was when the concert had just ended. Iâd thought that heâd definitely have forgotten my birthday. Not only that, his wife had gone all the way to Miyagi to go and see other men, yet he still sent mail to her. I was so happy that I cried. Thanks to that, that was an even happier than usual birthday.â Ahh. Thatâs a great story. He was properly thinking of you. That sort of thing is definitely not something youâd ever forget. Naturally. 'To go and see other menâ (laughs) This bit is funny! (laughs) 'His wife had gone all the way to Miyagiâ. Does 'other menâ mean us? Thatâs a funny way of saying it, that is. Man, thatâs a great story. Thank you very much. Right, next. From Sayuri-san. âSatoshi-kun, good morning. The ARASHI BLAST in Miyagi is over. When I saw news about the concerts in Miyagi, I saw that youâd be doing 3D flying. It looked really scary, I thought. Was Satoshi-kun scared?â Now that⊠Was I scared? Was it scary, now⊠You know⊠normally, with flying, itâs with⊠one line? One or two of them. So with a 5-point line, thatâs flying with 5 wires. You go in all directions. With that, you can just freely stand. Vertically, horizontally, diagonally and so on. You canât rotate, but the 5 of us were on it. So that was, well, we could just freely go around. We could go around making circles. We could go freely above the audience. Of course, there was a pre-determined range, but around the arena, you could go all around it. So that was⊠I thought that was great. Um, with normal 2-point line flying, you can only go side-to-side. You rarely have the ability to go freely over the audience. It was kinda scary during the rehearsals. The brightness and, naturally, the nervousness and the adrenaline and the fear sort of numbed me. Mm. So for the rehearsals, we didnât have any of that. So it was scary. So well, at the scene, one of the members was scared. Heâs no good with heights. Man, he was all right. Heâs called Sakurai Sho, incidentally. (laughs) You know, during the meeting, he was the most scared. When we were doing the flying, when I looked over at the other 4 members and saw Sho-kunâs face⊠Sho-kunâs hands were open and he was like, âLook at this sweat!â So like, it wasnât really like he was incredibly terrified. In the actual performance, MatsuJun was rocking the wires in the middle of Sho-kunâs rap. He was like, âTHATâS DANGEROUS!â (laughs) Itâd be great if we could do it again sometime. [BGM 'Monsterâ] Right, next. From Pi-mama-san. âOhno-san, good morning. I attended the concert on the 20th together with my 3rd grade son. My sonâs been your fan ever since Kaibutsu-kun and it was his first concert, so he was really excited. We were on the stands, so it was a little difficult for my 128cm tall son to see. He was peering through the gaps when a lady in the front seat was like, "Can you see?â and removed her thick-soled shoes. I was deeply touched by her kindness.â (Thatâs incredible.) "My son was also like, 'Ohno-kunâs waving at us!â and a lot happened but it was an incredibly satisfying BLAST. Then, when the concert ending and I was immersed in the lingering memories of it, my son asked me, 'I wonder if Ohno-kun really likes curry?â Why now?? Ohno-kun, please answer him!â Certainly. Man, thatâs incredible. Iâm glad. It makes me happy, too. To be like, âCan you see?â and take off her shoes. What a great story. People are really kind, arenât they? Truly. Yeah. Well, so there are people like that out there. I wonder why? What was he thinking? Probably because Kaibutsu-kun really loves to eat curry. Probably because he didnât eat any curry during the concert. (laughs) Yeah. So finally, Iâll say a few words. So weâre stopping here for today. Right, todayâs thought of the day, come on! Ohno-kun really does like curry! Thatâs all; this was Ohno Satoshi! ââ

A little bit of Ohmiya Sweet Story Ohnoâs mom : âHow was your work today?â Ohno : âIâm glad that Nino was there with meâ
This story was told by Nino at Waku Waku Gakkou, and Riida was so embarrassed and say âdid I really say that? I donât rememberââŠ
Aww⊠Ohmiya⊠You guys are so cute >.

#Big Sweater Little Nino.
this is like a childrenâs book that needs to be written.
Once upon a time there was a little Nino who had a new red sweater.
He didnât really like that it was so big he could comfortably sit with his knees folded cross legged under it, but it wasnât all that bad for a sweater (and really, Nino had worn worse.)
Nino wore his new sweater everywhere. It was so big and warm; it was like his own personal shield against the outside world. Â Because Nino was so small, and the sweater so large, Nino knew it made him look like a walking mushroom. But Nino was ok with this, because heâd always had an affinity for cute toadstools.
He wore it to bed too, as pajamas. It was so long that Nino didnât have to wear pajama pants, but could comfortably just sleep in his sweater and underwear.
After so much wear, the new sweater needed to be laundered. The big red sweater took forever to dry, and in the meantime, Nino was stuck in his old massive blue sweater with the bear on the tummy. Finally the dryer beeped, and Nino gleefully opened the appliance door, retrieving his red sweater.
But the sweater had shrunk to the size of a mitten.
And little Nino was sad.
# we have to find a way to give nino his red sweater back
if only little nino was even littler. or had some kind of little kitten that could wear his sweater. maybe a puppy. possibly a hamster. a small little tiny animal of some kind. or evenâŠâŠ.an ohno.
Once upon the same time there was a little Ohno who had no sweaters.
His mother told them they were dangerous. Ohno thought this was kind of silly, because how could a sweater be any more dangerous than his toe socks? Ohno liked his toe socks because they made his toes feel funny, but was sort of offended when his mother tried to offer to buy him a new pair instead of a sweater.
Then, one day, Ohno happened to see a boy wearing a very large red sweater. So large it looked completely ridiculous, and completely adorable, and Ohno decided he wanted one instantly.
So Ohno, knowing full well that his mom also told him not to talk to strangers, approached this boy wearing the forbidden sweater, and asked where he had bought it.
The boy drowning in his sweater smiled, and said he couldnât remember, but if Ohno wanted, the sweater was large enough to share.
Ohno liked this idea, but he wasnât entirely sure how it would work. His mother and his sister shared clothes, but they lived at home together and simply raided each otherâs closets. Ohno didnât even know the sweater boyâs name, or where he lived.
But before Ohno could ask, he found himself suddenly very face to face with the boy, and, in fact, inside his big red sweater.
Ohno blushed a little, and the boy grinned a lot.
And Ohno learned why his mother told him sweaters were dangerous, but was glad he learned the lesson for himself.
YOU ARE EVERYTHING THAT IS GOOD AND TRUE IN THIS WORLD.
^ THIS.
And everything above.. <3 <3 <3
One day, not long after they first met, Ohno went to visit Nino. When Nino opened the door, Ohno knew something was wrong. Not only were Ninoâs eyes sad and lifeless, but he was in his bear sweater.
Nino took Ohnoâs hand and brought him inside, straight to the dryer, where on top of the unit, sat a stuffed Doraemon plush toy, wearing a very familiar sweater.
Ohno felt terrible for Nino. He had known Nino liked the sweater a lot. He was so possessive of it, that Nino would never let Ohno actually borrow it, always insisting that they share it instead.
Ohno wished there was something he could do. But he couldnât sew or knit or even buy Nino a new one. He could call his mom, but she probably wouldnât be happy to hear about Ohnoâs relationship with a sweater (but he was positive she would love Nino.) Even if he could replace it, Ohno knew that in Ninoâs heart it wouldnât be the same.
So Ohno did the only thing he could do; crawl into Ninoâs bear sweater and give him a bear hug.
And  little Nino was just a little bit less sad.
And hereâs my own version⊠with a happy Nino ending XD
