“Yeah, I mean, he was a pretty good patient the other day. That’s usually the sign of having a good mom.” Tatum smiled, giving her a look. He moved so that she could rest her head against his arm, wrapping his arm around her. “What’s your favorite childhood memory?”

Kota thought about what he said but she couldn’t agree. She remembered being the sweetest little girl in any situation but she didn’t think she had a good mom. “Probably the best compliment I can get.” she smiled though. it was nice to be viewed as a good mother but she knew she wasn’t doing everything right. She adjusted against him liking the way he smelled when she put her head against his arm. “Uh..” She tried to think and it bothered her that she didn’t have an answer. “We used to spent Sunday evenings together when I was little. We played games.” Her and Adam did at least. She just remembered her parents present.

Tatum gave her a small smile though he wouldn’t comment about Luke’s friends. He knew what he had been like as a horny teenager. “I’m sure Luke would defend any comments made about you.” He turned his head to look at her. “Wait, really? What about a tree house?”

Kota chuckled a bit. She couldn’t imagine Luke becoming a teenager ever and she wasn’t sure if she was ready for that yet. “He’s pretty great so far.” she smiled a bit before she looked at him adjusting so she could lay next to him. “No, not really. Or I can’t remember.”

Tatum gave her a look, raising his brow at her before he burst into laughter. “Uh huh, I mean, come on. You have to know you’re a milf.” He offered, rolling over to lay on his back as he looked up at the top of the fort. “You know, I don’t think I’ve made one of these since I was like ten.”

Kota rolled her eyes. She wasn’t even sure if that was a compliment or not. She was sexualized on a daily base due to her job so she didn’t really know what she should think about that. “I really hope Luke’s friends won’t talk about me like that.” She said as she watched him lay down a little. “I honestly don’t remember if I ever did.”

“I told you, my hips…they don’t sway.” Tatum laughed, trying to prove it before realizing that he probably shouldn’t make that motion while they were laying so close together. “Hardly. Trust me. I can bet all the dads are checking you out at drop off and that when Luke is slightly older, all of his friends will be checking you out as well.”

“I’m sure they can move at least.” She said with a chuckle as she realized how that could have sounded. In her head it was a stupid thing to say, but oh well she was feeling oddly comfortable about herself these days. “I must say I don’t pay attention to that kind of stuff but I think you just called me a MILF.”

“Will you help me with my moves?” He asked, though he did have some experience with stripping so he guessed he had some moves. Sometimes clients wanted him to and he didn’t like to disappoint. “You think you’ll suddenly stop being the cool mom?”

“I’m pretty sure anyone could do my moves.” she said knowing she told him she was a dancer but she wasn’t sure what he thought that meant. She was more comfortable with her job now, still didn’t mean she wanted her family to know. “I think that time is already over.”

“Fine, I guess.” She lied because she was pretty tormented and things were hard right now. “Just juggling Elena and work, same old. No Trevor anymore so Lena’s been adjusting.”

“You can always bring her over. If I’m not here, Adam is and he is pretty good with children.”

“Well, I guess that just means I’m going to have to dance for you some time for real. But not now. There isn’t enough room in the fort for that.” Tatum shook his head as he held her closer. “No, don’t say that. I can’t wait another decade for more of that.”

“I guess I have something to look forward to. Next time then.” she teased a little although she doubted his dancing skills were as bad as he said. “You might have to. I hope I won’t be out of touch which that stuff in ten years.”

Tatum couldn’t help but smile as she started to rap along with the song. When she stopped, he chuckled softly, shaking his head. “That was so good! If I cover my face will you keep going?” He asked, moving to wrap his arms around her and moving the pizza box so that he could hold her.

“No.” she shook her head. “Not a chance. I don’t think I’ve ever embarrassed myself like that.” She chuckled, surprising herself how easily she leaned into his arms as they wrapped round her. “Enough of that for another decade.”

Tatum smiled widely, taking a sip of his own wine before moving to turn the song on. He turned the volume up, watching as she cleared her throat, laughing softly. “Oh God, I am so ready for this.” He laughed, shaking his head as he watched her.

She took a deep breath as the song started. Putting her hands in front of her face for a moment before she started to rap along for a little bit. After a few rhymes she couldn’t help but burst out in laughter. “I can’t do that when someone is looking at me.”

Tatum shook his head as he looked at her. “I don’t think you could ever be a disappointment.” He admitted. He laughed at his beat boxing before reaching for his phone. “I can’t hold it against you that you couldn’t rap to that, it was terrible.” He laughed again. “I’m glad you told me. Now you just have to tell me what song to play.”

Kota thought about if she could just go for that embarrassing guilty pleasure like that. It was something stupid she did at home when she was alone or with the girls in the changing room when they were feeling silly. She bit down her lip before she looked up at him. She sat up a little more as she downed the rest of her wine, clearing her throat. “Ante Up.”

“Come on, you know I like what I see.” Tatum pointed out, giving her a look. He finished his slice and turned to look at her, careful not to spill either of their wine glasses. “Now this, this I must here. Come on, I’ll give you a beat. Lay it on me.” He smirked, doing his best to try to beat box though it wasn’t very good.

“Well, I did not stand in front of your door in lingerie and just a jacket. So I thought I might be a disappointment.” She bit down her lip a bit as she thought about what would have happened if she’d actually done this. “No. I just rap along. I don’t just go for it. I don’t even know why I told you that. I don’t think anyone ever heard that.”

“Completely.” Tatum nodded, giving her a smile. He took another bite of his slice, looking through the music he had on his phone. “And here I thought you were a complete metal head.” He teased, giving her a look. “Lemme guess, more into hardcore gangsta rap?”

“I guess you like what you see or we wouldn’t be here.” She concluded as she put her piece of pizza aside to take a sip of her wine. The light was dimmed through the blankets and it smelled like pizza down here. It was feeling so cozy, he was so close. “You’d be surprised. I have rapping skills.”

Tatum shook his head but he couldn’t wipe the smile off his face. “That is true. You have a great ass…” He admitted, giving her a small smirk before taking his own slice of pizza and taking a bite. “Okay, pizza was a great idea.” He nodded, reaching for his phone and turning on some music for their fort. “So, what should we listen to while we are hiding from the real world?”

“So you’ve been checking me out?” she teased a little, before she took another bite of the pizza. The pizza was really great and it was fun to eat it here, pretending like there was nothing else out in the world. “Anything is fine.” She didn’t know what kind of music he was into and she didn’t really have a preference. “Unless you pull out some music where all they do is scream.”

“Sounds like you got lucky, again.” He teased, giving her a smile. He rolled his eyes when she said she won but chuckled softly. He looked over at her before turning to lay on his side. His eyes moved to her skirt as she adjusted it. “You really shouldn’t draw attention to your legs. They are very distracting.” He admitted, opening the pizza box between them.

“I am more lucky than I ever really thought about it.” She smiled at him. Maybe she really was and she should probably think more about that in the future. She should feel more lucky. “Well, if I don’t adjust you’ll see my butt, now tell me which would be more distracting?” She teased lightly before she took a piece of the pizza and took a bite.

“I know. How is Luke feeling by the way? Did I get him all squared up?” He asked, smiling as he thought back to the night of the storm and how she had burst into his flat with the kids. He had found the whole thing so endearing. “Alright, I guess I’ll just have to let you win then.” He nodded, taking the glass and grabbing the pizza box before putting them into the fort and climbing inside.

“He’s great. Luckily I knocked on the door of this really handsome doctor.” She smiled at him. She’d been so panicked that night and that were the times when she wished she wasn’t alone. Sure she had Kyle and Kane and Adam but when she was living with Kane they would split up and get things done easier and quicker. But that was a failure. “I won.” She cheered a little. Watching him climb into the fort she pulled her dress down a little not really wanting to let him see all the glory under there from climbing into the fort. “This is nice.” she smiled as she settled against one of the pillows, adjusting the skirt of her dress a bit.

Tatum gave her a look, furrowing his brow slightly. “You never know. I’m a workaholic so I’m not around much, we’d probably make it work.” He teased, though he wondered how true it was. She’d probably be annoyed by his work schedule. “Oh really? Is it a competition now?” He smirked, though it was nice to think that she felt lucky too about meeting him. He strung up the blankets before taking a step back. “What do you think?”

“You know me and my kids come in a package...” she said with a smile. Although she probably shouldn’t really drag her kids into this relationship right now. He met them once and it would stay like this for now. They were confused as they were and the whole having different fathers and them Kane and Luke and it was just all too complicated to get another guy involved for the moment. “I must admit I’m not that competitive to add more than double right now.” She admitted. She looked at the fort and nodded. “Looks cosey.” She smiled handing him one of the glasses.
