Any fun facts about basking sharks? (Really big sea puppies)

Cetorhinus maximus or Basking Shark

These are the second largest shark and fish in the world (after the whale shark), they can grow to be 12 m (40 ft) long!

Also like whale sharks, they're ram filter feeders. This means that to catch prey, they simply open their mouths, swim forward, and catch whatever happens to get in their way! This is why they (and other ram filter feeders) tend to have such large mouths. The basking sharks mouth can be up to 1 m (3ft wide).

While sharks are mostly thought to be solitary creatures, a lot of species do school and the basking shark is one of them! They're usually divided by sex (except during periods of mating), and schools of over 100 females have been spotted!

And probably the coolest fact about them- THEY CAN JUMP OUT OF THE WATER. Despite weighing around 5,000 kg (approx. 11,000 lbs) they can breach 1.2 m (4 ft) into the air! It's believed they do this as a method to remove parasites.

I use a lot of non english terms to reffer to a lot of things since im multilingual so im just translating them to a more understandable term

(warning the part after this isnt going to make sense lmao i will sound insane bc some of these lose context when translated)

I actually have a nickname for viri meaning a bouquet, one for lily meaning darling (familial/platonic but deeper, and another name pv uses meaning darling but romantic), viri sometimes calls mfae i think the equivelant of dumpling i think?, viri is the same type of creature id describe mfae as (which is fairy/god), etc etc

They sound klunky when i use the direct english translations without some modification, and using the non english versions just isnt in my preference for my english blog so its more understandable!! (I have written stuff in a dif language in this blog before, but i added translation and i dont plan to do it again)

Oh yea a silly thing for a fic (in progress) pvs dogs name is tres leches which is spanish for 3 milk i wanted to translate it to english as triple milky or something like that but it didnt hit as well as tres leches

fae or fairies are magical trickster often depicted as humanoids with insect features however they can be depicted as other creatures as well and many stories include them shapeshifting

Gods/Godesses are immortal extremely powerful beings, they are not strictly humanoid and can resemble any sort of thing and are not constricted to one form being able to switch forms with ease. they often have something they specialize in but are not limited to it, in some cases they can die however it's not common.

so White Lily spend much of her growing years in darkness and forgetting to eat because of how deep in her research she was and lack of light (I'm assuming plant cookies need light to grow like normal plants) and food leads to stunted growth but she still turned out huge so that leads me to question how big she would have been if she actually ate and sun'ed properly.

He cant, he isnt comming back into my life the same way he had before, and that is for the best.
