DNFed colored television (disliked it) the starving saints (objectively bad) and gone girl (idk what my problem was) and now that it’s august maybe i will remember what a book is

everybody who said the starving saints was a good book owes me 100 USD + i maintain that nobody these days knows how to set up an enemies to lovers arc they just say “a shiver ran down [possessive pronoun] spine” and call it a day

me: i’ve hit a bit of a reading slump, but i know that i have a depressive episode every summer and this will pass, so i’m going to be gentle with myself ^_^

one thing i will say though is that i am somebody who cannot stand secondhand embarrassment or related emotions at all so this book has been very good at stressing me out. i am extremely weak to the threat of interpersonal and professional consequences and the empty wine fridge is lurking in the corner of my vision like mr x
