Are there still the same groupings in your au (Dekusquad, Bakusquad, whatever Mic and Eraser have going on lmao, etc)? Would it be the same dynamics?
Similar! It's a slowburn. The world is large and folk are spread out, and Izuku is the common thread between most of them. 1-A will only finally to reckon with each other at the end of the Journal.
Izuku travels this far and wide expanse to check in with those on the fringe. Friend to all, but forfeit of a close knit group (or rivals, for that matter). Most know of the odd human that rolls into town- gets supplies, and disappears for weeks. The only person with strong opinions on him is Bakugo. Izuku drives him nuts- made all the worse that he doesn't know where he is half the time.
The Bakusquad all have knightly goals- I'm sure they would hang! Everyone in the Dekusquad meet under unprecedented circumstances (most of em are space faring, a promise for something awesome).
Many dynamics are flipped or new (like Hizashi mentoring Hitoshi, or Fatgum and Midnight). The biggest difference is that most villains are more morally grey. Tomura and Toga's character motives are familiar, but not quite the same. They know Izuku. That'll turn a number of things upside down.
Sadly, Allmight and Izuku don't get their initial bonding/training (for plot). Izuku isn't even aware that he may be in the business of needing to be trained for anything.
With Oboro around, Mic and Aizawa haven't trauma bonded the same way (yet) - but they're. Er. Whatever you call that.
