This open, honest vulnerability that Lando Norris carries with himself with such ease is truly unique. In such impossibly competitive sport, to see a growing, young man (at the age when men, especially in this society, don't want to show their affection towards their parents so easily - especially dads - and so openly, in front of the cameras, when the whole world is watching and places like twitter exist) is refreshing. Generally speaking in sport, I think we can safely say we often associate this type of behaviour with men from countries like Brazil or Italy (when the society "allows" for things like this to happen) or in moments of huge emotions (winning a championship). And here we have a young guy in F1 where "you have to be tough and rough and hard" calmly and with some ineffable sense of chill showing that he loves his dad, that he can be "the vulnerable one", the "young one", the "trusting one", and it's honestly amazing.
Lando Norris talks about the importance of mental health without tears in his eyes and he hugs his dad like that so casually in moments of "just" getting p3 in "just" qualifying and I'll tell you why I love it - because he normalises being open and honest and delicate. You, as a man, don't need huge emotions to show that you care. You don't need to experience a "real" tragedy to talk about mental health. You don't have to win the race to hug your dad like that. It should be normal to react like that whenever you want. And he does exactly that. He normalises such behaviour.
the way melissa made the same face i did when tom casually mentioned Lando
also, he thinks lewis is the one who's going to win.
Don’t show me Jos Verstappen punching a table because his son got second on the grid.
Show me Adam and Cisca Norris with tears in their eyes, as their daughters clap and cheer behind them, because their son got third.
Supportive, wholesome families. Nurtured racers with healthy approaches to competition. Show me only this.
Tomorrow we crown a world champion. Either for the 8th time or for the 1st time.
Tomorrow we crown a constructors world champion either Mercedes for another year or Redbull for the first time since 2013 .
Tomorrow we say goodbye to a past world champion in Kimi.
Tomorrow we watch Valtteri drive one last time for Mercedes.
Tomorrow we watch George drive one last time for Williams.
Tomorrow we hopefully say a see you later to Antonio.
Tomorrow we watch history being written.
Whatever happens, don't turn to hate .... just enjoy it
May the best man win 🧡💜
I'm fine, I swear 😭🥺
what’s happening in f2 i forgot about it lmao
Piastri said 'unleash the demon' and is pushing people off track so he got 5 seconds time penalty
Also complete chaos bunch of overtakes
When you have already won the championship so you go out to have fun like you're just karting with your homies
no wonder horner is this salty they were given all the chances in the world to wrap up this championship and now mercedes dropped the bomb that lewis’ w12 is basically the frozen embryo twin of w11 with no real developments
The only thing i'm manifesting for 2022 is a Chris Evans Buzzfeed puppy Interview. I think we all deserve it after the last 2 years.
